With Agnes gone from Silverfall, the spiky witch hat also finally detached itself from Felix's head. Two days later, when he woke up in the morning, it was no longer there.
He didn't even realize it straight away. After spending days with it stubbornly stuck deep on his head, he got so accustomed to it that he hardly noticed it, unless he was washing up. Or eating, since he had to be careful not to dip the brim in the food. But the hat was otherwise comfortable, and see-through from the inside, so it was easy to forget it was there. It was only after Felix got up, removing the clingy fox from his chest, and went to the bathroom to wash his face, that he noticed that he could see his golden eyes and golden brown hair once again!
