Looking at the two Aleisters—each representing a facet of twisted genius and paradox—Shen He felt like he had stumbled into the strangest moment of his entire existence.
Even with the hardened mindset of a modern internet-era youth, what unfolded before him carried an overwhelming sense of absurdity. Aleister was splitting himself infinitely—yet, bizarrely, the first two versions had already formed a coalition of interests. Their goal? To monopolize the behavior and purpose of future split iterations of Aleister.
If left unchecked, what might this world become?
The Aleister Collective? Eventually, endless Aleisters might construct a civilization based purely on themselves, climbing the technological tree, breaking through the limits of science, and becoming the apex force in the multiverse.
That couldn't be allowed.
If Aleister ruled unchallenged, Misaka's sisters would never find peace—an outcome both Shen He and Qi Mu Nanxiong, as her comrades, refused to accept.
"I'll fight with everything I have."
Shen He slowly closed his eyes and reopened them with fierce resolve.
The angel who had flown off, the Aleister who'd emerged from the life-sustaining capsule, and the endless splits—everything now exceeded the limits of the current world's logic. Frankly speaking, even defeating one Aleister was already a monumental feat for a Servant. To handle both an angel and multiple Aleisters? A nightmare beyond reckoning.
Meanwhile, back in the "Windowless Building," Misaka Mikoto Alter had had enough of the void spinning endlessly around her.
She whipped out her specialized marbles. Black lightning erupted across her skin as crimson electromagnetic force exploded outward. With a bang, her Railgun pierced the pitch-black surroundings. It was as if the coin she fired sucked in all the surrounding darkness. Reality warped, shattered like glass, and exposed what lay beneath.
A mechanical nest of horrific scale.
The ceiling had been blown wide open, sparking wires crackling, and Aleister's former life-support tank sat vacant.
He had escaped.
That one fact burned into Misaka Mikoto Alter's mind.
Hatred, long repressed, surged toward the surface, twisting her very features. She teetered on the brink of losing control.
"So it's true—you're not Misaka Mikoto."
The voice came suddenly, softly.
A girl with honey-blonde hair, a slender waist, and a curvaceous figure stepped into view. Misaka Mikoto Alter recognized her instantly—Bee Eater Etsu, a manipulative esper from Tokiwadai she had never gotten along with. And beside her stood Kamijou Touma.
Though she couldn't understand why Bee Eater had come, it didn't matter.
"I'm not in a good mood," Misaka Mikoto Alter growled, voice trembling with fury. "Crushing a few ants won't help, but if you don't want to die—get out of my way!"
Crackling black electricity coiled around her again as she readied another marble.
She intended to raze the entire building.
"She's serious," Bee Eater said, turning to Kamijou Touma. "We should leave. She's beyond reason now."
"No."
Kamijou clenched his fists and stepped forward, his emotions boiling over.
"Your hatred—it isn't yours. It's something the Holy Grail forced onto you. You don't have to be shackled by that pain. Your memories aren't even real. Recognize that, and the weight will ease."
"What the hell are you saying?"
Rage twisted Misaka Mikoto Alter's thoughts. Why did everyone treat her like a fake? Why couldn't they accept her growth, her evolution?
"Forget it!" she screamed. "If you want to die, don't blame me!"
A barrage of laser-like beams shot from her palm, tearing through the structure. The building groaned, collapsing from within. In the final moment, one of Bee Eater's controlled espers teleported both her and Kamijou out.
The stronghold of Aleister—symbol of Academy City's dominion—was gone.
"…It's over. Academy City, gone."
Bee Eater exhaled, her heart heavy. She'd stayed here because this city held her dearest memories.
Her first friend. Her first love.
Kamijou opened his mouth to speak—but stopped.
The world…froze.
His right hand glowed with strange power, keeping his body active—but everything else was locked in stillness.
Misaka Mikoto Alter was conscious but immobilized, her eyes able to see but her body unresponsive. Her awareness was intact, yet she was frozen, caught between motion and paralysis.
Then the timeline fractured.
Everything rushed past at lightspeed. Buildings once ruined were reconstructed. Angels returned from distant corners of the sky. Unseen energy surged into minds across Earth—espers, magicians, ordinary civilians alike. Memories were rewritten. Dead no longer remembered. Peace returned, not by restoration, but by erasure.
This was Qi Shen's godlike power—controlling thought and causality itself.
The past could not be undone, but its echoes could be smothered. The dead could not rise, but their significance could vanish. He turned back the clock by distorting memory and law, not through brute force, but divine-scale rewriting of logic.
In just ten minutes, the entire world had returned to its state from months ago.
Only a chosen few—those near Shen He—retained their memories.
Shen He stood once more in the windowless building. Three Aleisters faced him: the one in the capsule, the silent girl, and the maddened elder.
"Can you alter their memories too?" Shen He asked, voice tight.
He had long known the extent of Qi Shen's power. But seeing it firsthand—on this comic-level scale—left him with a sense of collapsing logic.
"…It's complicated," Qi Mu Nanxiong murmured, rubbing his temples.
He had forcibly rewritten global reality. In doing so, even minor inconsistencies stood out—and someone like Aleister would spot them instantly. To avoid paradox, Qi Shen had excluded the three Aleisters from the memory shift. As a result, all three witnessed the reshaping of the world.
Each reacted differently.
The original Aleister floated silently in the tank. His "artificial heaven" project had been obliterated. No new plan could form in the face of such cosmic absurdity.
Even Demon Gods didn't wield this level of authority.
The elder Aleister was reduced to raving madness, muttering "unbelievable" over and over. A lifetime chasing truth had met its ultimate contradiction. He had found the supreme "unknown."
The girl Aleister stood apart, passive, untouched, as if everything was irrelevant.
Shen He studied them all.
Qi Mu Nanxiong's invincibility wouldn't last forever. They had to act now.
"Exile the original Aleister into the infinite cosmos," Shen He declared. "With the entire building. Let the elder Aleister take over as Chairman. As for the girl—treat her like a daughter. Then globally embed a subconscious truth: 'Sister Misakas deserve normal lives.' Nullify the conflict between magic and science. Instill a united vision for the future of civilization."
With this, Shen He used Qi Mu Nanxiong's powers to reshape the world—gradually, methodically.
Elsewhere, Misaka Mikoto Alter faced a strange stillness.
She had returned to that place.
The source of her hatred. The place where the sisters had been tortured. The crucible of her transformation.
But… now it was empty.
Everything rewound around her. Reality shifted. Yet she remained.
Why?
Why was she still here?
Wasn't time reversing? Shouldn't she have returned to her student days? To her friends—Shirai Kuroko, Chuchun, and the others?
Why was she still stuck?
"You are not Misaka Mikoto."
A voice echoed inside her mind—one she had refused to accept.
Her heart pounded.
She rushed into a nearby communication hub and scanned the network. Her electronic powers told her everything.
The world had reset. Life continued as if nothing had ever happened. Yet… she existed outside of it.
Another Misaka Mikoto was already back at school, walking down the street with Shirai Kuroko and the others.
She remembered that day.
Shopping. Laughing. Living.
The memories were still warm.
But they were no longer hers.
