Chapter 169 - Chapter 324: Stepping on Tails and No Elegance

Veronica stared at Leon's back, lowering her voice, "Besides... I'm also very curious about what kind of man Little Rose married."

With the plan settled, Isa immediately called the group ahead to go play in the haunted house.

As soon as they heard about going to the haunted house, the children were naturally the most excited.

Noah: 'Great! If we go to the haunted house, I must act very calm, that way I'll seem more like an adult!'

Luna: 'Great! As soon as I see a ghost in the haunted house, I'll dive into big sister's arms!'

Little Light: 'Great! I can go scare the ghosts!'

Seeing their daughters so eager, the couple had no objections.

"This old lady won't join the fun, I'm too old and my heart's not good. I'll wait for you at the exit," said Veronica.

"Okay, Grandma."

The group bought tickets, and the staff reminded them:

"No using dragon flame or other light-producing magic inside the haunted house~ If you can't find the exit, you can recite the 'spell' on your ticket, and a 'sprite' will lead you out~"

Leon looked down at the 'spell' on the ticket.

'Got it, It's a safe word huh!'

'I was just thinking of coming up with a set of safe words with Rossweise lately. Otherwise, with this mother dragon's awakened S attribute going so strong, I might not be able to hold up.'

Leon's thoughts ran wild as he held Luna's hand and followed the group into the haunted house.

Inside, just as Isa predicted, it was pitch-black. You couldn't see your hand in front of your face and could only vaguely make out directions by relying on the flickering ambient lights.

"Sis~ Sis, where are you?"

"Over here."

"Where's 'here'? Luna can't see you, Luna is all alone, so scared, wu wu~"

"When you came in, you were holding Daddy's hand. I saw it."

"..."

"Daddy! Can I uppercut the ghost uncles?"

"Ah, that... might involve some medical compensation issues..."

"You next door! Can you not crack cold jokes at a time like this? Totally ruins the atmosphere, hey!"

"Where's the path? The path, where—Ah! What's that green glowing thing up ahead?"

"What green—Ah crap! A ghost!! We really can't use magic? Old man, quick, burn that thing with fire! AAAAH!"

In the darkness, everyone fell into chaos.

"Mother dragon, are you... scared?"

"You think I'd be frightened by this kiddie-level stuff?"

"Then why are you holding my hand?"

"Don't talk nonsense, it's not me."

"Then who is it?"

"It's~ me~"

"Fu*k your Mot*er!"

General Leon almost threw a Chidori out on the spot.

After the first wave of scares ended, Melkvei's family and the neighboring family continued exploring.

There were a few more sudden jump scares, but everyone was starting to get used to it.

Still, the pitch-black environment ahead made it truly hard to move even a step forward.

Besides the slow progress, there were also some other minor issues—

"Leon, On—if you step on my tail one more time, I'll cut your tail off!", In the darkness, Rossweise gritted her teeth and said.

Leon chuckled and lowered his voice, "Then you've wasted your breath, I don't have a tail."

"I meant the one in front."

"..."

Leon suddenly felt a chill in his crotch area, quickly grabbing Luna's hand. Stepping to the present, he didn't even know if he was still holding Luna's hand, but whoever it was, getting out was more important, he strode quickly toward the exit.

After going through a few more twists and turns, the group finally emerged from the haunted house.

The family beside them still hadn't had enough and were enthusiastically discussing which ghost inside was scarier.

Leon looked down and saw his precious Luna was still there.

'Good, good, didn't lose my daughter.'

Then he looked back and saw Noah walking out slowly, her little face calm, completely composed.

Leon blinked, seeming to realize something. He glanced around, "L-Little Light?"

"I'm here, Daddy."

Leon turned toward the voice and saw at the haunted house's exit, Little Pink Hair dragging a 'ghost' by the collar and walking out slowly.

"He said I was super cute and wanted to hug me, and then triggered my uppercut mechanism, and then... he fainted," Little Light said innocently.

The staff member at the exit twitched at the corner of his mouth, then sighed, "How many times is this now this month? Ah forget it, just report it as a work injury."

Rossweise smacked Leon's butt with her tail and complained about how he stepped on her tail and hurt it inside the haunted house, balabala and so on.

Isa stood nearby watching the scene, her brows furrowed slightly.

Grandmother Veronica walked up, "Well?"

Isa shook her head, "Probably not from the Garuda clan."

"Oh? You're sure already?"

"Mm."

Isa silently picked up her own tail, face full of grievance,

"In the haunted house, brother-in-law stepped on my tail 11 times, on Little Rose's tail 23 times, and on that other family's tail 48 times. With that kind of eyesight, don't insult the Garuda."

Grandmother covered her mouth and laughed lightly, "Alright, alright. So what race to test next?"

Isa turned to look at Leon, and said slowly, "Thunder Elves."

———

After lunch, the whole family set out for the Young Dragon Amusement Park.

This was Little Light's first time there, so she was a bit more excited than her two older sisters.

Little Pink Hair led the way, wanting to try every booth she saw.

Throwing sandbags, bouncing balls, ring toss, you name it.

It was rare for her to put down her books and come out to play freely, so Leon and Rossweise naturally indulged her in everything.

The three little ones excitedly explored the park's attractions, while the couple followed behind them.

As for Isa and Grandmother Veronica, like in the morning, they walked at the back of the group.

"Time for a little lesson on Thunder Elves, Isa," said Grandmother.

Isa crossed her arms, walking leisurely, though her eyes never left her brother-in-law.

"Thunder Elves are a very important branch of the elf race. They're like soldier ants in an ant colony, meant to protect the group and resist external threats."

"So their combat power is considered top-tier within the elves, and naturally, they're best at lightning magic."

"But despite their bravery and battle prowess, Thunder Elves still retain the innate nature of elves, which is... elegance."

"No matter when or where, those aloof little fairies will always maintain absolute elegance."

At this point, Isa paused, then shrugged, "If our dragon clan had half their elegance, we probably wouldn't be labeled as 'violent maniacs.'"

Hearing Isa's explanation and looking at her grandson-in-law ahead, Grandmother Veronica pursed her lips, lifted her hand and pointed at Leon, saying doubtfully, "If that kind of behavior can be called 'elegant,' then maybe our dragon clan really could shake off the violent label."

"What behavior?", Isa looked in the direction Grandmother pointed.

There she saw her brother-in-law holding Little Light in front of a balloon shooting booth, firing like mad.

"Trunks, trunks!"

"Boss! Another ten rounds! Let my daughter enjoy herself!"

"What? Leave?"

"No way."

"Leaving is impossible. Your prizes are generous, your balloons are easy to pop, I love your booth."

"Another ten rounds!"

"Rat-a-tat-tat! Little Light, isn't Dad's shooting awesome?"

Isa: "..."

Grandmother: "..."

Thunder Elves: "..."

Isa silently pulled out the list she wrote last night, and crossed off Thunder Elves from it.

"I think my brother-in-law is never going to learn elegance in this lifetime," Muttering to herself, Isa looked at the remaining two race names.

Wolfkin tribe and... humans.

The Red Dragon Queen bit her pen, brows furrowed, "Which one should we test next?"

While hesitating, Grandmother Veronica slowly reached out and pressed down on the list in Isa's hand.

Isa glanced sideways, "Grandmother?"

The old lady smiled kindly, "After all, we came out to relax with family. Even if it's an investigation, don't put your whole heart into it."

Isa's red pupils moved slightly, instantly understanding Grandmother's intent.

She put away the list, stepped forward and linked arms with her Grandmother, "Then let's go shoot a few rounds too, Grandma."

"Aiyo, this old lady's eyesight is getting bad... can't aim, can't aim."

The grandmother-granddaughter pair joked as they walked toward Leon's group.

Meanwhile on Leon's side, after emptying a few magazines, he had gotten each daughter another teddy bear.

Then he turned to Rossweise and asked if she wanted one too.

Rossweise directly said she didn't need one.

"Why not? Didn't you really like the one I gave you last time?"

"I did. But one is enough for something you like."

As the queen said this, her silver eyes remained locked onto Leon's, with a subtle and teasing smile on her delicate face.

General Leon swallowed hard, leaning back slightly, "You, you're not saying that 'thing'... includes me, right?"

Rossweise tilted her head slightly, silver strands falling, without answering directly.

"What do you think? My prisoner—"

"Yo, what are you two lovebirds chatting about? The way you're looking at each other, it's practically turning into goo. How about kissing on the spot?"

At the sound of the voice, the couple immediately looked away from each other.
