Chapter 4 - Demon to self

A whole day of court session, by the end the officials moved out of the grand hall in weariness but they dared not show it much to avoid maybe displeasing the Master.

The demon entourage were quite better as they at least had better stamina.

Ogunrinde reclined on his throne and drank, unlike the standard seat throne, his was more of a couch throne.

The whole day of the court session he had been seemingly drinking, casual, relaxed, not speaking.

But he was more tired than anyone else.

He had lower cultivation than most in the hall, either of demon might or spirit qi, and seemingly relaxed not speaking, he had been focused, listening while dealing with something within.

Taking another gulp of the wine he face was very rosy, seemingly drunk, but beneath this drunkiness his mind was opposingly sober.

Demons were the preeminent in the world, true, he had his demonic entourage carry out his command first before the officials to showcase their prominence.

But it was also because they were lesser in numbers compared to the officials, and as a Royal demon he had good grasp of demon heirachy and functions hence though some not much was really needed to grasp about his demon entourage.

Except their names, temperament, ideology, mannerisms.

Apart from the first stated by all themselves, he had contemplated the rest by discernment during their reports.

The officials were more and handled numerous various task.

He paid more attention, compared to the demon entourage, this officials were the ones deeply involved in grassroot matters of his domain.

Usually Demon Masters didn't hold court with officials because the officials were only involved in meager tasks, civil duties, serving and answering to a demon vassal.

Traditionally there were two house of courts for a Master of Lord.

One of the demon master and his entourage( vassals ) , the other of the vassals and the officials.

The officials were ministers, servants.

This was the way of demon.

Ogunrinde lay relaxed elegantly on the throne, and kept drinking in silence, and perhaps due to no vassals and servants being in the hall his figure relaxed.

Trembling

Having drank a whole day, of course he would trembled, Ai sighed.

His highness was a pure blood demon, direct descendant of the royal house of the Desolation battle demon lineage, prestigious and noble.

His bloodline would bear fierce great battle and destruction demonic laws.

But unlike demons that generally unleashed chaos outwards, he wasn't any less, extremely chaotic.

But his, internal.

His wine was made of concentrated demonic herbs and fruits distilled, this wine seemingly exotic was destructive.

A cultivation and leisure stable resource for nobles

But for his highness that frequently indulged in it, it was dangerous.

The demonic energy in it was way beyond his cultivation level.

But they were used to this scene, the first time his highnes had drank this strong wine when he was far younger, he had been unconscious for days.

Pulled out of the havoc of the rampaging havoc of the demonic energy in his body by the Lady His Mother's interference.

Since then he had "gotten used" to it, drinking more frequently, taking himself to the edge of drunkiness and soberness, seemingly numb to the pain.

Although she did not hold it against her naive sister, eager to please the Master, Ai knew better .

Could he truly have gotten used to it.

From then to now His highness had kept on drinking.

Drinking even more.

" Showing tolerance "

But without the cultivation realm having increased, how could there be more strength or tolerance.

To Ai this was all just self affliction of pain and agony.

These acts of self destruction was one of the main things that strained between the Master and the Lady.

She couldn't understand or fathom his thoughts or actions and it caused her agony.

On this Ai also agreed.

his highness was birsmirched for being not adequate as a demon, but to Ai he was the most demonic being she knew.

Demonic to himself.
