Chapter 2 - The Favor

The Grand Chandelier lit up when she walked down the stairs on the left staircase that connects both floors. Walking down the stairs, she stood beside the throne. The wraith stepped back into the darkness.

Her icy, sharp voice pierced through the silence. "Brave, aren't you?... To step into a gate that only opens for things bound to die?"

His eyes widened briefly before he muffled a surprised gasp, swallowing his unease. He opened his mouth to speak, before any words escaped from his mouth.

The witch cut through his failed attempt to speak.

"Who ARE you?" she demanded. Hiding his apprehension, he cleared his throat in a manly way that came across more comical than intimidating. Tensing slightly, attempting to ease the agitation, he uttered with a shaky voice.

"... well, I am San, San Morcos, or a soldier, now a man in dire need of refuge and recovery . I beg you , i need help before the storm hits in."

She raises an eyebrow, taking a look at his crippled leg he'd been leaning on, bracing against the pain as he tried to mask it. Her gaze then shifted to his ragged combat gear and a frayed shirt beneath.

Her voice dripped with complete lack of amusement.

"A soldier, hmm..." With a shrug, she added, her tone carrying all the boredom of the world. "Now, why should I waste a breath on such a vulnerable creature, almost halfway through the graveyard ?" Her sharp eyes pinned on San.

San's pupils dilated slightly. Gritting his teeth, he said in an almost pleading tone:

" Help me, and I shall remember your favor forever and owe you a wish. Anything you ask for, it's yours." He looked down in a quiet plea, hoping she'd be kind enough to offer help.

With a wicked chuckle, she says, "Well, what if I ask for your soul and feed it to my pets? Would that count as a wish? Or should i just do it nevertheless" She raised an eyebrow.

He blinked in skepticism . A mix of disbelief and annoyance flickered across his face. Taking a deep breath, he spoke.

" I'd prefer to keep my soul .As long as I'm still breathing, healed, and reunited with my allies in Truios, I promise to repay you in any way possible , I will . Just Help me , I beg you."

Her eyes narrowed, she tilted her head

and Ignoring everything else he said "Truios?" She scoffed . "So you're not one of those pathetic hunters in Satuh?"

"Yes, you certainly did a good job with hearing me astonishingly right. I am ineed from Truios, from the east valley." Pointing at the emblem embroidered on his gear.

Her eyes seemed to gleam for a moment , At the mention on Truios. A deadly smirk curling at the corner of her lips, she starts circling him at a slow pace like a predator circling its prey.

"Well... anything you said... hm."

She glanced sideways at the wraith and gave a small, deliberate nod. She stopped in her tracks, and with a sweeping motion, she raises her hands in mid air and snaps her fingers. A dark-void-magic flickered over the tips of her fingers.

Within a heartbeat, darkness crept into San's eyes, and with a sharp breath, his body collapsed onto the wooden surface with a thud. His vision blurred as his eyes slammed shut.
