Chapter 14 - The dormitory

Edmund and Serena drove quietly to the dormitory, her luggage had already been delivered to her room. She was too occupied with her own thoughts to notice his slight glances at her. He was fascinated at her vivid resemblance with Olivia, over the years certain number of girls had been born in Eldermere and other parts of the world who looked a lot like Olivia but with a clear unique feature which made their looks differ slightly from her's. One of such girls was found by the scout team twenty years ago but she had a sliver streak of hair at the center of her hair. Ileus ordered her killed not because he was being cruel but in order to protect Eldermere and the secrets it holds. When Serena was found she was meant to meet that same fate that night, he still wondered how she still is live. " If you're not Olivia then who are you Serena Johnson" he said to himself. Serena pondered on everything that had happened so far trying not to forget any detail, she had this uneasy feeling that something terrible was wrong with Missy. She picked up her phone scrolling through in order to take her mind off it. She noticed all her social media handles currently were blocked, even her phone line was restricted to networks in the vicinity of the town." General Edmund, my phone network seems not to be working properly I think I need to be logged in to the school's network, I can't access any of my apps" Serena said , she was tired of all the strange things that had happened to her ever since she got here. She wasn't really a fan of social media but she had found it to be an effective tool to take her mind off her problem even if it was just for a few hours.

" You are not allowed to make use of that on school grounds Ms Serena" Edmund said as the approached the dormitory. Serena waa stunned, she was yet to read the school's rules, she knew the school was strict on the use of internet while on school premises but not being allowed to make use of your phone entirely was a bit too much. She quickly apologized putting it back in her bag. Edmund sighed tiredly switching off the car. He took off his cap, his eyes closed like he was mediating on something. Serena could only stare, she had never seen such a pretty man. His dirty blonde hair was worn in a messy bun with some loose strands falling to his neck and sides of his face. He slowly opened his eyes, his beautiful red eyes fixed on her. Serena found herself not able to speak or breathe as much and not just because of his beauty but his suffocating aura which filled the little car. " Ms Serena, there are some things you shouldn't speak about to anyone when you are here" he said sternly," things about the elders all of them, don't ask questions about Eldermere and it's people, you need to be careful who you share your views with not everything here is the way it seems "he said nodding slightly which she did as well. She knew he was right, she needed to be careful with whom she spoke to, she could not afford to loose sight of why she was truly here. They both got out of the car walking into the beautiful female dormitory. There were girls roaming everywhere in the building, most of them in little groups chatting together. Serena thought they wouldn't notice her and Edmund as they entered the building but she was very wrong. All eyes quickly darted towards them, heads turning to see the mystery girl who walked in with the town's general. Serena took a look at Edmund who looked unperturbed by the stares but the same could not be said for her. All her life she tried her best to stay out of any situation which would bring any form of attention to herself, she never attended parties, never joined clubs, barely even spoke to people, she was like a ghost, simply moving with time. Edmund turned quietly he said " they wouldn't stop staring so we better hurry to your room so I could leave". Serena took a breath before walking towards the stairs. The stares came with whispers most about who she was and why the general had to personally take her to her room but there was one girl who stared at her intensely, her eyes following her every move. Serena felt uncomfortable with the way the girl looked at her then she felt she had seen her before. She turned to take a good look at the girl but she was gone. " Right here" Edmund said turning the door knob, The number 62 boldly written on top of the door. The rooms interior was quite plain but large. There two beds at opposite sides of the room covered in plain pink sheets. The walls were painted light blue and there were two little side tables beside each bed. There was just one wardrobe though, luckily for her the room had it's own bathroom. Her bags were kept close to the bed on the right side of the room which she decided would be her bed. She went to her bags carefully checking to see if they were complete or damaged. "If you need to help with anything at all you can always ask me and I would be willing to help no matter what" Edmund said calmly, his eyes held an emotion she could not read. " Thank you" Serena said with a smile, then she remembered something, something she had been meaning to ask him after there meeting with the elders. " General Edmund, I thought there are supposed to be seven elders in the council, I only met five" she said sitting on the bed. Edmund sighed placing his hand on his temple, " your going to get yourself killed before we find out what you are with these your questions Serena" he said to himself. "Remember when I said don't ask questions about the elders" he said leaning on the wall, his tall frame resting beautifully with his hands crossed. Serena nodded quickly, she could not believe she forgot so quickly what he had just told her. " I would have to leave now, take care Ms Serena" he said before leaving the room. Serena sighed smacking her temple slightly " stupid girl" she said as she unpacked her bags.
