Sil got ready for his mission. He didn't need to fight them for long, only to copy their abilities. This was to be a quick in and out one. Sil already asked for Logan to send him the location of the lone chained members, even giving him an earpiece in case anything went wrong.
Right as he was about to leave, a knock was heard at the door, and Logan's voice was heard on the intercoms.
"Sil, I have requested that an ex-member of the Cursed Faction join you on your mission."
The man was slightly confused to say the least. Why would he need someone to join him? He is the strongest human who's effectively a swiss army knife after all.
Upon opening the door, he saw a woman with a fierce look and short black hair. Sil struggled for a moment to remember who this person was, but she certainly was familiar.
"Linda will be joining you on your mission today. I recommended that she visit as she was known to be the most physically strongest out of the cursed faction," Logan spoke in Sil's ear.
That was when it clicked on why she looked so familiar. Linda was a draugr that was effectively immortal if she ate enough human flesh throughout the years. She looked unchanged from the past aside from a slight difference in outfits, still sticking with her signature crop top jacket, and a somber look to her eyes.
"It's Linda, it's been a while since we've last met," Linda said as she took out her hand for a handshake.
Sil took it, not wanting to be rude, "Sil."
Taking out his soul weapon for a few abilities to fight with for the day, he picked teleportation and teleported out of the Green estate. At this point and time, Sil only had the maximum capabilities of teleporting across a planet. He only managed to find a very small amount of nest crystals during his time in space. If he went out further, then he would likely find more. The two found themselves in a relatively normal looking city, albeit very crowded.
"So, what do you plan on doing for this?" Linda asked.
Sil wasn't sure why Linda of all people was joining him on this trip, "I don't really have one— aside from what I've usually done with fighting."
"Is that it?" She placed a hand on her hip and gave Sil a stern look, "Are you really just going to use whatever abilities you have on hand to deal with the situation?"
"It's worked out for me so far."
"Right…"
The earpiece began to speak, "The first guy you are looking for is a few blocks away. Quite fitting given his ability— he is near an aquarium. Sil, I am sure you saw his appearance but, Linda, keep an eye out for someone matching the description of someone with dark blue hair."
They began walking down the street, keeping an eye out for this person. Sil kept thinking about why he would need a second person to follow him around.
"So, what have you been up to?" Sil asked, trying to make conversation.
"Oh you know… fighting," Linda replied back, refusing to elaborate, "What about you?"
Sil thought about his recent endeavour at the brothel he went to, and what he did with the transformation ability, "You know… being myself."
Linda raised an eyebrow at his answer, but didn't ask any further questions.
The earpiece spoke up again, "You two suck at conversation."
Sil groaned, pressing against the earpiece, "Can you PLEASE go back to screwing your wife?"
Linda was a little embarrassed at the comment Sil made in public, but didn't want to extend the conversation about it longer. They were at the aquarium, which had even more people crowding the area.
"What's going on?!" Linda called out.
As they pushed their way through the crowd, they saw a frantic man with dark blue hair trying to fist fight security. He was standing on top of a large tank that looked to be about 15 ft tall.
"Sir, you are not allowed-" The guard tried to say.
"LET ME IN!" He yelled before decking a guard in the jaw and jumping into the massive tank.
Both Sil and Linda could see before their very eyes that the man's neck formed slits in them, appearing to be gils. As soon as he swam to the bottom of the tank, he sat cross legged and began to relax. This was definitely the guy.
"What is he doing?" Linda said out loud.
Sil looked at the once frantic guy meditating underwater, "I think he's… relaxing?"
Several guards looked around confused on what to do, and Sil thought this was the best time to capture the strange man.
"I'm going to pull him out of the water, you go catch him."
"What?! What do you mean go catch–?!" Before Linda could finish her sentence, Sil had already lifted him out of the water using telekinesis.
Realizing what Sil meant, she had her shadow cover her entire body as she increased in size. Her previous clothes were replaced by intricately designed armor, and Sil tossed him over to Linda, which she easily caught.
The man did not like this one bit and kept frantically shuffling around, trying to escape her grasp. During his poor attempts at escaping, he repeatedly smacked Linda in the face.
"Sil! Touch his skin!" She yelled out, annoyed.
Sil didn't need to be asked twice and managed to copy the man's ability. When Sil nodded to confirm that he was done, she looked straight in the man's eyes with intense fury.
"Do you want me to drop you?" Linda hissed.
"YES!"
Linda then promptly dropped the man onto the floor, and he ran off screaming. She had her shadow power cover her body, and shrunk back down. In the distance, they could see the guy causing chaos again.
"I feel bad about leaving him like that," Sil commented, "Do you think we do something about him?"
"That isn't my job," Linda commented, crossing her arms, "He's just some weird guy we shouldn't waste our time with."
"Don't worry, I'll send someone to help him rehabilitate in better circumstances," Logan spoke through the speaker.
"That would've been appreciated before we had to catch and release him out like a… like a fish," Sil's face scrunched up at his own words, to which Linda also scoffed in agreement.
"Whatever. I'm getting us out of here," With that, the two of them were teleported out.
—
The next location they were in was a lot less populated than the last and had numerous plants growing everywhere. Looking up, the sky was thick with foliage, and the floor was littered with plant roots.
Sil was then reminded of the time that he was on a planet full of plant people, and exhaled loudly shaking his head, "Ugh… I swear if I get off to the second guy…"
Linda glanced at Sil, scrunching up her face while looking him up and down. She had known Sil before and did not take him as the kind of person to get off to plants.
"What do you mean by that?" Linda pondered out loud.
Sil realized that he was with someone other than Vicky and Logan, and turned around to see her confused face.
"Uh…"
Logan had unfortunately decided to explain further, "While Sil was in space acquiring strength to grow stronger, he was documenting alien species and f-"
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" Sil yelled, his face red, "She doesn't need to know that!"
Linda's face also grew very red as it dawned on her what exactly this man did.
Back then, Sil behaved like a young child, even if his actual age meant otherwise. She wasn't close, but she was told that the man had experienced several traumatic situations that left him emotionally and mentally stunted. It was giving her massive whiplash of her mental image of him vs what he actually was.
"W-what…?!"
Sil turned away from Linda and began storming off into the thick foliage. "Logan, why the hell did you tell her all of that?!"
"She asked," Logan replied matter-of-factly.
"Is it true?!" Linda questioned Sil, both terrified and morbidly curious about the answer, "What did Logan mean by this?!"
Sil rubbed his face in slight frustration, "Ugh… I really don't want to talk about my stupid freaking sex life."
Linda was mortified at what that sentence entailed, and yet she just had to know more, so she asked again "...Can you elaborate please ?"
"I swear to god, Logan, if you say another word about the aliens I've fucked," Sil took out the earpiece and held it up to his mouth, hoping it would come off as louder in Logan's speaker, "Then I am going to single handedly prevent you from fucking my sister ever again."
"I have no need to anymore, you have just told on yourself."
It took a moment for it to register in his head, but when it did, Sil dropped the earpiece in disappointment at himself.
'I'm so fucking stupid.' he thought.
Behind him, Linda was flabbergasted, but then she recollected herself as she realized that she wasn't perfectly innocent. She and Wevil used to do some… interesting things together.
Sil picked up the earpiece, and continued off with Linda following suit. As they went further and further into the foliage, they noticed that the greenery grew more and more thicker. It was beginning to be troublesome with how a few had thorns that kept scratching at them.
"Argh! I've got half a mind to-" Before Linda could finish her sentence, a vine whipped around her waist and yanked her deep into the vegetation.
"Linda!" Sil called out, before getting similarly wrapped himself.
He got whipped around, getting lashed by several thorny branches before being taken into a small clearing where both he and Linda were entrapped in thick wood. In the center, a large woman with peach colored hair was surrounded by gorgeous flowers.
The woman, who Sil immediately recognized, was named Peach. One of Helen's siblings.
"What are you doing here?" Peach called out.
She raised an arm, and Sil was being hung upside down as both he and Linda were brought to her face.
"No one should've known about this place, how did you find me?"
Sil began to open his mouth, "I actually came to touch y-"
A vine wrapped around his mouth, and he was tossed to the side. If Linda had free reign of her arms, she would've facepalmed.
"Damn it, Sil." She muttered.
Linda covered herself in shadows and grew in size, breaking herself out of the viney grasp.
"Look, we're not here to fight! Let's just talk."
Sil laid there in the branchy grasp, with a slight blush on his face. Shaking his head to get rid of the thought, he told himself that now was not the time for this. Thankfully, Sil still had the teleport ability, and managed to teleport out of the branches.
"We'll get out of your hair soon enough," Sil spoke out to Peach, "I just need to copy your ability."
Peach looked a little disgruntled, but she knew the reputation that the Blades had. She came down from her tower of vines and walked over to Sil.
"After I do this for you, will you finally leave me alone?" Peach muttered, "I've had enough trouble with the cursed faction when my sisters passed."
"It's been over a hundred years, that's been enough time to grieve," Sil said without thinking.
Linda, now free of the branches, smacked her face, "Please… Shut up, Sil."
Peach gave Sil the stink eye, "What about Quinn? I may not have known you that well, but everyone knew that you were into him and he's dead."
Sil was silenced by that sentence.
"Thought so," Peach grabbed Sil's hand, and he immediately copied it, "There, you copied my ability, now leave."
Linda walked over to Sil, and they teleported out of there.
—
The next location was a large island with several white buildings. The sun was beginning to set, and the place was colored orange pink colored, with the sea a dark mahogany color. Sil sat down on a bench, and began meditating to recollect his mc cells.
Linda crossed her arms and looked at Sil confused, "What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to recollect my mc cells," Sil muttered.
"Why? Surely you have enough."
"Of course, but just in case," He took in a few deep breaths before relaxing his muscles.
Linda shrugged and sat on the opposite end of the bench, deciding to wait, "...Okay, spill it. What was that about?"
"What do you mean?"
"The whole 100 years thing. I don't know that woman very well, but I do know that I'm not really over my brother and lover…" She had to pause when saying their names, "The war took away lot of our loved ones."
"Oh…" Sil didn't want to continue the conversation, not when it meant that he would be thinking about 'that guy.'
"And, I don't mean to assume, but I know about your crush on Quinn, we all kinda did," She turned to look at him, "I… I know how it feels losing someone you love, so don't you still feel bad when he died-?"
Sil had a dark look come upon his face, and he stood up abruptly, "Dont-" He paused for a moment, trying to recollect himself.
"I've got enough MC cells now. We can go to the third guy."
Linda got up and stood next to the blonde haired man, "Just don't say that again, it makes you look hypocritical."
Sil put a hand on her arm and teleported them out of the location. They found themselves near the cliffside of a mountain range. At this part of the planet, it was late afternoon and a little chilly from the winds. As they traveled across the semi narrow ridges, they didn't talk much. Even Logan was silent.
