Chapter 3 - The Moysar

The shining rivers of Tridaire, the riveting oceans as far as the eye can see. The world of Tridaire had many beautiful things, but what the seatra considered to be the most fascinating place among them. The freedom, the way water hits your body as you swim faster and faster throughout the open sea.

The seatra stayed out of world-changing affairs, and in turn, the world didn't bother them. This changed when their villages were attacked by some sort of evil on the eastern shore of the Palria Sea. Pillaging, eating, and killing innocent seatra as they move along the Palria shore.

One seatra made it out, a young girl. Climbing up onto the eastern beach, she runs into the forest, weighed down by her guilt and sorrow for her people. Her light feet hit the ground, not even making a footprint in the dirt, but her heart was shattered, hurt, and bleeding as she entered the thick woods.

Leon takes the seatra girl out of the river, "Can you tell me your name?" he asks her. The seatra girl stares at Leon for a couple of seconds. Finally speaking in a soft, injured voice, "Yes, my name is Parodona."

"Rowyn, go get our medical plants and bring them here, we shall not make her walk that distance injured. That would most likely kill her." Rowyn nods and stomps back to the stone cave, the loudness of his feet heard throughout the forest causing the birds to fly out of the trees.

Leon holds Parodona in his arms, "We have Grattle, it's a plant with healing properties. However, can I ask you a question, Parodona?" Parodona nods as she holds Leon's arms to steady herself.

"What happened? Where did you come from?" She laughs, "That's two questions, brave stranger, I will answer them both. But I do not know your name."

Leon's face fills with embarrassment, "I am so sorry, Parodona! You can call me Leon, Leon Mystic. Pardon my rudeness but I was in a hurry to know what had happened." Her face lights up with a bloody smile, "Oh man, this is great, you got so embarrassed I didn't know we were doing last names too!" she laughs heartily. Leon holds her steady once more, seizing her laughter, "Parodona, you must calm yourself or you will get injured even more!" She continues chuckling, "Oh calm yourself, Mr. Mystic Magic, I won't get-"

They hear a huge crash in the direction where Rowyn stormed off. Leon puts Parodona down and stands up quickly. He looks at Parodona hesitantly. She slaps his ankles from the ground, nearly tripping him, "Go, you idiot, that could be your friend in trouble! Don't worry about me!" Leon nods and runs towards the crash, covering himself fully in his patched green cloak.

Leon arrives at the origin of the sound a couple of minutes later to witness Roywn getting up. Leon looks around with a look of curiosity and caution, "Rowyn, were you attacked?! What happened? Are you okay?" Rowyn looks at him awkwardly, "I uh, I uh tripped on a tree branch and fell. That's what that loud crash was. No intruders, attackers, or otherwise. Just me uh falling." Leon looks at him baffled, "Rowyn you are dumb as a rock sometimes, funny considering how you're race is made of stone yet you have intelligence, now please use it my friend. Let's get these supplies to Parodora." he says as he picks up the supplies at Rowyn's feet.

As both of them walk through the woods, they reach the river again. Parodona was standing on her feet, somehow all healed. Leon puts the supplies on the ground, "Paradona, you were just severely injured, how are you?- I thought seatra's couldn't heal themselves with water?"

Parodona walks towards him and whispers in his ear, "They don't." As she walks into the woods, she shouts, "Don't question it! Better if you didn't know! Let's talk inside this home of yours, Leon." Leon and Rowyn look at each other, shrug, and follow her.

Parodona, Leon, and Rowyn are all sitting in chairs at a table with a candle. "Speak Parodona. What happened on the Eastern Shore of Palria?" Parodona drinks a cup of stone beer and frowns at him.

"Our village was attacked. By White Moysar. For your Unisaki friend Roywn. White Moysar are evil sea creatures that have such extraordinary speed that you usually don't see them coming until it's too late. They were sent by the Pitergasts, hulk-like creatures of 300 pounds, born of pure evil and malice."

Rowyn looks at her with cold eyes, "Do not talk to me like I am a child Parodona. I know what the Moysar are. All too well. I do not think they were sent by the Pitergasts either."

Leon looks at Parodona as she looks back with a little curiosity and guilt. Leon shakes his head no, and continues, "I agree with Rowyn, why would the Pitergasts send the Moysar out now? Not to mention they don't even have a leader, it was killed long ago."

Parodona looks at him, "Okay, then why do you suppose they attacked us?" Leon looks at her, his stare suddenly going cold; "I do not know, but I have some ideas. We must see to the council of men in Protovia."

Parodona scoffs and slides her chair back, hitting the wall with a bang. "Council of Men?! What men you speak of are corrupt with greed! They care nothing for this world or its people." Leon suddenly stands up, face to face with Parodona, radiating an aura that shakes the room. Rowyn and Parodona stiffened up, startled. "You will not speak about my people like that, is that understood, Parodona of the Seatra? I will speak with the council; whether you come or not is your choice. I have given your people my respect, now you shall give me the same courtesy."

Parodona shakes her head yes in silence and both she and Leon sit down. Roywn speaks up after that intense standoff, "I'm going outside to collect more rocks for the stone beer, excuse me."

Leon grabs a piece of bread and chomps on it, looking at Parodona. Parodona opens her mouth as she speaks with normalcy, "I have a question, Leon, if you don't mind." Leon nods his head, signaling her to ask. "How did you know that the evil leader died?"

Leon shrugs as he talks with bread in his mouth, "I mean it's quite obvious, right? They haven't been seen gathering the forces of Masangand since the first age right? They've only gathered in small armies at a time."

Parodona looks at him, squinting her eyes, "Don't lie to me, Leon. How did you know that Leon? The ancient texts that were recorded were lost in the first age. We don't know what happened to their leader. How do you know he died?"

Leon shifts in his chair uneasily swallowing his bread with a gulp, "Uh-"
