Chapter 66 - Chapter 65 – “Today, No One Can Protect Danzō—Because I Said So!”

"Kaze, you—"

Fugaku's face twitched, veins bulging on his forehead.

He never imagined that Kaze would say something so bold… and in front of the entire clan, no less!

This wasn't just disobedience—this was practically a rebellion!

But what truly shocked him wasn't just Kaze's words—

It was that Uchiha Sei, that usually quiet and composed fellow, actually walked up to him with a serious face and said:

"Clan head, it really is time you got some rest."

Though Sei didn't interact with Kaze much, he had immense respect for Shisui.

Shisui's death weighed on him deeply—and he wanted the truth to come out.

But when it came to how to handle it, Fugaku and Kaze clearly stood on opposite sides.

Fugaku, as both the clan head and the captain of the Police Department, chose to trust in the Hokage's decision.

Kaze, on the other hand, intended to handle things personally.

And now, in this moment, Sei's respect for Shisui made him side with Kaze.

He wasn't alone.

Six or seven other Uchiha exchanged glances—no words were needed.

Their eyes said it all.

They nodded to each other.

And then—marched straight toward Fugaku.

In the blink of an eye, they had surrounded him.

"Clan head, I think we should let Captain Kaze handle this."

"Yes, I believe he'll get to the bottom of this."

"Please, put your trust in Kaze, just this once."

One after another, the Uchiha voiced their support.

Even the rest, though they stayed quiet, didn't speak up for Fugaku either.

Their silence was not neutrality—it was quiet agreement.

"You all…"

Fugaku stared at them, stunned.

It felt like a storm was raging in his chest—a tidal wave crashing against the walls of his authority.

Was this… was this mutiny?

Were these people actually thinking about replacing him?

"Kaze, can't you see what you're doing?"

Fugaku tried to reason with him, his voice rising.

But Kaze took a step forward.

His voice calm. His hands open in front of him.

Radiating confidence and clarity.

"This—""This is the true voice of the Uchiha.""The will of the people."

"As members of the Konoha Police Force, we don't bow to power."

"If you commit a crime, we bring you to justice."

"No exceptions. No compromise."

His tone sharpened.

"I sincerely hope you don't go against the current now, Clan Head."

Then—he paused.

Just for a moment.

Before raising his voice, doubling its power:

"My heart and actions are clear as a mirror—everything I do, I do for justice!"

"And now—As vice-captain of the Konoha Police Department,I formally issue an arrest warrant for the criminal suspect—Shimura Danzō!"

"Who's with me?"

"Who's against?"

As Kaze spoke, his eyes swept across every Uchiha in the room—intentionally so.

And truth be told, after his fiery speech…

Everyone except Fugaku was riled up with one single purpose—Arrest Shimura Danzō.

On one hand, they all already suspected that the one who had stolen Shisui's Sharingan…

Was none other than that old fox—Danzō.

They just never had the hard evidence to prove it.

But now? With Vice-Captain Kaze openly declaring the order—

They were dying to drag Danzō in for questioning.

On the other hand, this wasn't just about Shisui anymore.

Since the end of the Third Great Ninja War, the Uchiha had been constantly suppressed by the Konoha higher-ups.

On the night of the Nine-Tails incident—

It was Danzō who ordered them to remain confined to the compound.

It was Danzō who spread the rumor that they were the masterminds behind the attack.

Their rage had long been simmering beneath the surface, waiting for a spark.

And Kaze?

He had just lit the fuse.

"I support it."

Uchiha Sei's voice was firm and unshakable—he was the first to speak up.

"Me too. I've had it with that bastard Danzō."

"Even if he didn't kill Shisui himself, he's definitely involved."

"Bring him in. With our Sharingan genjutsu, we'll find the truth sooner or later!"

One after another, Uchiha clansmen rallied behind Kaze, lending their voices to his cause.

The pressure on Fugaku grew heavier and heavier—

Even as clan head, he now found himself cornered.

Looking around at the fired-up crowd—

Fugaku couldn't help but suck in a sharp breath.

At this point, he could no longer speak against it so easily.

But at the same time…

He knew full well—

Shielding Danzō was the Third Hokage's wish.

No matter how you looked at it, Konoha was on the brink of chaos.

Externally, the Land of Lightning was watching for any sign of weakness.

Internally, the village's combat strength was already dangerously thin.

And knowing Danzō… he wouldn't go down without a fight.

If Kaze went after him now, it could easily spiral into a civil conflict.

That was the last thing the Third Hokage wanted.

And the last thing Fugaku, as clan head, wanted as well.

As that realization sank in, dark lines appeared on Fugaku's forehead.

Finally, with great difficulty…

He said:

"…I oppose it."

In the end, Fugaku still chose to prioritize the bigger picture.

"Kaze… Sometimes, compromise isn't a bad thing,""It's all for the sake of the village's stability."

Kaze wasn't surprised at all by Fugaku's response.

After all—that's exactly the kind of person Fugaku was.

On the night of the Nine-Tails incident, he chose to compromise, ordering the clan to stand down.

When the Uchiha were pushed to the village outskirts, he chose to compromise again—asking his people to believe the higher-ups would one day give them justice.

And on the Night of the Massacre, he chose compromise once more—letting Uchiha Itachi kill him and wipe out their clan.

No exaggeration—

When it comes to the art of compromise, no one can beat Fugaku.

Kaze was even willing to crown him the "strongest" in that regard.

"…I'll compromise your damn head."

Even Kaze, who had been baptized by modern knowledge and politics, couldn't help but swear under his breath.

(T/N: You know exactly what I removed here. I was tired of reading that under the red flag bs.)

Looking at Fugaku still clinging to compromise…

He snapped.

The three tomoe in Kaze's Sharingan began spinning wildly.

He locked eyes with Fugaku—

And fired a genjutsu on the spot.

Inside the illusion world, Fugaku was instantly dragged in.

Now, to be fair—

As someone who possessed the Mangekyō Sharingan, Fugaku's resistance to genjutsu was not low.

But not in his wildest dreams had he expected Kaze to attack him, the clan head, right here and now.

He was caught off guard.

And Kaze's genjutsu proficiency wasn't weak either—

That moment of carelessness was all it took to successfully bring Fugaku under control.

Of course, given Fugaku's strength, it wouldn't take him long to break free.

Thud!

Fugaku's eyelids drooped. His body tilted forward, and he was about to fall face-first to the ground when Uchiha Sei stepped up and caught him.

All the Uchiha—including Sei—were left staring in stunned silence.

Kaze had actually attacked their clan leader.

And taken him down in an instant.

Was this a joke?

"Kaze… wasn't that a little too far?" one of the clan members couldn't help but speak.

Once Fugaku wakes up from that genjutsu…

He's definitely going to blow a fuse.

Kaze, however, was completely unfazed.

"If the sky falls, I'll be the one to hold it up. I'm the vice-captain. If I'm not scared, what the hell are you all worried about?"

From his perspective—

This was the best opportunity he had since transmigrating to finally deal with Danzō.

If he missed this moment…

There might never be a legitimate reason to take him down again.

And more than that—

If Danzō was eliminated now, the entire Konoha upper echelon would be dealt a heavy blow.

The advantage is mine.

Why back down?

"Ichiha, Satsuna — take Fugaku to the police force's rest area."

(T/N: Hmm, Uchiha Ichiha?!)

"Sei, Gekkō — you're with me."

"Today, no one can protect Danzō!"

Having said his piece—

Kaze didn't wait to see how the others reacted.

He turned sharply and marched straight toward the Root base.
