"We said tonight was going to be our date, right?" I reminded him. "We're not going to let Caesar ruin that. So let's go on our date... You owe me."
A small smile tugged at his lips, though it was tired, uncertain. "I think it's going to be awkward as hell... us sitting at a table pretending none of this happened."
"Then let's not do dinner," I said, leaning in a little. "Let's do something else. Something that makes us laugh. Something fun.... something that'll keep us too busy to think about anything that happened this evening."
He looked at me for a moment, studying me like he was searching for a reason to believe this could still work. Then, slowly, a genuine and bright smile broke across his face.
"Okay," he said, his voice lighter. "So… what did you have in mind?"
Sebastian stared at me for a moment, eyebrows raised in curiosity. "So what exactly are we doing? You said no dinner, what's your big plan?"
I grinned. "We're going to play. Like, actually play."
