Chapter 46
The alarms started again.
That low, pulsing whine that usually meant a system error—but this time, it wasn't because of any equipment.
It was Ronan.
He stood in the center of the room, drenched in sweat, breathing like an engine running too hot. His eyes glowed with an earie red color. His fingers twitched like something inside him was trying to claw its way out.
The others stood just beyond the door, watching through the glass.
Myles stepped back from the monitor. "Something's wrong."
"No kidding," Siena said. "His vitals are red-lining."
"I've seen this before…" Myles muttered. His face lost color. "He's losing control. Just like the first time."
Dez looked at him. "First time? What do you mean?"
Myles didn't turn, his eyes fixed on Ronan. "it happened when he was first brought for check_up. Siena, you remember right? After the last mission you guys completed together."
