The sounds of sirens blared loudly, shards of broken glass were scattered across the roads of what was once a busy downtown district. Buildings were damaged to the point where you could see their frames, everything drowned by the heavy rainfall.
Screams echoed loudly, hordes of people ran for their lives, the sounds of a blood curdling screech cancelling out the terrified screams of civilians. Police cars surrounded a monstrously tall creature, it's mist like body resembling shadows. Officers surrounded the creature, their cars serving as barriers to prevent it from going further. They quickly pulled out their hand guns, firing rapidly at the creature, this however, proved to be useless as it simply brushed off the bullets as if they were naught but a speck of dust.
The creature then lashed out, grabbing one of the officers before biting down on their leg, tearing it off as it chewed it. The other officers watched helplessly in horror, as the attacked officer, cried out in pain. The creature then killed the man right there. The remaining officers dropped their weapons before running off just as the regular civilians had earlier.
Within the crowd, a teenage boy about 16 years old, glanced back, his face showed silent terror, contrasting to the horrified expressions worn by those around him, sweat ran down his face, his heart pounding with fear.
He glances back, to see a beam of fire erupting from the ground beneath the shade, his momentary hesitation causes him to be launched into a nearby building due to the force of the shockwave created by the pillar of fire. He glances back, his eyes narrowing to see a woman around his age fighting the creature. A naginata in her arms as she thrust it into the eye of the creature. she then ignited the blade using her flames, the creature stumbling back in screeching pain.
Unexpectedly, crashing into the electrical polls, the wires surrounding her, electrocuting her badly, as she fell into the nearby rubble of the city's ruins. The creature stood back up, its body parts regenerating as quickly as they had been destroyed. It slowly walked towards the girl, its mist-like arms condensing into blades to shred the girl. The boy looked at the scene unfolding in front of him. His fears overwhelming him, keeping him in place, making him feel as if he is unable to do anything. This feeling of fear, however, is replaced by something overpowering. Determination.
The boy ran, ignoring the pain he felt throughout his body as he sprinted as fast as he could towards the creature. Now it was focused on him, began to chase him. The boy wondered how he could possibly defeat this entity, he looked around, trying to find anything he could use. He then looked at the girl, passed out and heavily injured thought still barely conscious, the transmission wires, "Perfect." He thought to him self, he went to a pole, baiting the creature to attack him. RIght on queue, the creature swings its blade like arms at the boy, who just barely manages to dodge the attack. The girl looks up weakly, observing the boy's actions wondering as to what he had planned. The pole comes crashing down the transmission wires covering the creature's head, disorientating it for a moment. "Now. Now is the time." He muttered to himself. Sparks of bright yellow electricity begin to emit from his feet, using this, he launches himself into the air onto the creature, crawling onto its head while dodging the attempts of the creature to claw him off.
He looked at the wires, then at his hands, electricity pulsed from his palms as he placed them on the wires, the current flowing through him, causing high amounts of pain. Despite that however he gets one word out, "Enhance." The electricity within the wires begin to rapidly expand encapsulating both the creature and the boy in a ball of electricity.
Soon, the wires were no more, burnt out from the intense heat of the electricity, the creature was reduced to a charred husk of its former self. The boy barely alive due to his natural resistance to electrical attacks, limps onto the road, before passing out due to his injuries. The girl seeing this, struggles to pull out a transmission device, using it to call for immediate medical attention with her last bit of willpower before passing out.
Military trucks soon arrived at the scene, medics rushed out, checking both the boy and girl. "They're both alive, but barely. We need to take them to the recovery chambers NOW!" exclaimed one of the medics. The two were wheeled into the trucks, their wounds being tended to as they were driven off to a base.
