Chapter 12 - triakósia 4

Nezu sat comfortably on his golden throne. He observed the entire training zone using drones piloted by an AI system he had installed inside his throne. "Now that I think about it, have you ever actually described me, author?"

"Now that I think about it, I haven't. Wait, why are you breaking the fourth wall?"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

*Sigh.* "Okay, I've already described Nezu's Clothing, but apparently, he desires a description of his appearance. Nezu is a chimera; he appears to be a strange fusion of a dog, a mouse, and a bear. With almost bleached white fur and a scar over one of his eyes, he normally walks around in a suit, looking quite dapper. But today, he's dressed in a kingly attire—a rather sinister one at that."

Anyway, Nezu studied his students as they prepared for the objectives assigned for this exercise. The assault team was exactly what he expected. In fact, the team seemed to be playing right into his hands. But we don't really care about the assault team, so let's talk about our defenders. Nezu expected Weiss to take charge. She is the class president of Class 3B and the daughter of the heir to a wealthy support gear company. She has been raised her whole life to be a leader.

Don't get him wrong; her plan was good, but the difference between good and excellent is the potential for casualties. One change he would make is using Yang as a solo front-line fighter so she could absorb as much kinetic energy as possible. This way, when she has used it all up and is in her recharge phase—where she's incapable of absorbing kinetic energy—the other skilled close-quarters fighters can replace her when she gets tired.

"Well, I guess it's time to start up our little army, and by 'little,' I mean giant army!" Nezu smashed his paw on a giant button that said "Start the Waves," as he began to maniacally laugh.

Our camera pans to the front of Nezu's base. Robotic guards sat on all the walls, and heroes/teachers stood guard as if they were generals. The silent guards of Nezu's base watched in silence as the doors opened on the sides of the base, releasing groups of robots that began to march down the mountain pass in a single-file line. Unlike the robots used for the first-year students, these robots were more humanoid in shape and design. But unlike the others used for the third years, these ones were new, specially designed for this event.

There were three different types of robots used for the first wave of enemies. The first were basic foot soldiers, armed with blunted swords and bucklers; they were clearly made to be mass-produced. Next was a ranged variant of the soldier, armed with a mix of different weapons, from bows to guns. Some were even pushing cannons. The third variant was a massive behemoth of a robot. While the other two models stood at 2 meters, this one stood at 4. They were few in number and were clearly made to be shock troops. Slowly, the three variants formed into squads and began to march in an orderly and robotic fashion down the pass.

Shino quickly reported the approaching enemies, giving periodic warnings about how far away each battalion of robots was. After a while, Kiba, being impatient, charged into the pass way past the point where he was supposed to stop. "I got this because I'm gonna be the number one hero!" Kiba yelled. "Come back here, you dumbass!" Yang shouted. This made it almost impossible to support him. The only one who could save him if he fell into a pickle would be Ruby. As a result, their team found themselves in a difficult position.

All of their preparations lagged behind, but out of obligation, friendship, and the fact that they were all heroes, the whole team moved forward to support Kiba. Due to Kiba's mistakes, preventable mishaps occurred. The first was that Choji took a significant amount of damage during the first engagement with the enemy. Shikamaru exhausted a lot of his stamina supporting their retreat, and Kiba was knocked unconscious. Because of this, the team decided to get help from Asterios to wake up Kiba, patch up Choji, and give Shikamaru some time to recharge.

Emiya rushed toward the next approaching wave while Izuku and Mordred tried to get Asterios to participate in the fight. Even then, all Emiya could think about was how much of an idiot Kiba was. Finally, Emiya felt Asterios switch places with him.

The first thing Asterios saw when he took control of the body was a cascade of robotic figures. A horde of robots with blunted weapons charged at him. Subconsciously, he began to growl and roar as he wound up for a punch, smashing his fist into the approaching bots. But something was different from the last time he fought heroes. He wasn't getting stronger when the robots attacked him; he wasn't getting bigger. He remained the same size he was in his passive form. Sure, that form was extremely strong and could take a lot of damage from even really powerful heroes, but it wasn't as powerful as his more beast-like, giant form.

Feeling the pressure increase, Mordred tried to assist, but being in the metaphorical driver's seat with Asterios was extremely difficult. His mind was much more primitive than theirs, and his body was significantly different, making it hard for them to adjust to being so close. This only intensified the situation for both of them. Eventually, Mordred had to retreat back into their mind. Asterios was holding his own, but he was still taking a lot of unnecessary damage. This was bad because they were only 30 minutes into the exercise, and the defense team had already basically lost two teammates. Choji could still fight, but it wasn't recommended, and Kiba was still unconscious.

Shikamaru was rested and pretty much ready to get back in the ring, so after Asterios dealt with the remainder of the first wave and the second wave, he switched with the rest of the team.

Things just kind of went downhill from there. For the next hour, Yang and Blake acted as the team's front lines—well, Blake's clones did. But once Yang exhausted her reserves and her quirk went on cooldown, things started to fall apart. Slowly, the team kept losing ground, and by the second hour, they were almost at the mouth of the mountain pass, barely keeping the enemy at bay. Choji had started using his quirk more liberally to buy more time, even with his injuries, as they all waited and hoped that Yang would be able to get back into the fight soon. But that didn't seem likely.

Just as everything seemed almost lost, Emiya, who was currently in charge, felt the pull of that unknown personality. Hoping this personality had some plans or ideas to help them through this, he granted it access to the body.

Everyone watched as Emiya's skin turned back to the shade of Izuku's. His hair transformed to red, and his pupils shifted to black with a red dot in the center. Red markings spread across his limbs and torso. A golden construct of a spear and a shield appeared in this new personality's hands, while a Spartan helmet adorned his head. As the stunned students observed this new form, the redhead slammed his spear on the ground and yelled to the heavens, "SPARTANS! We fight for honor and the love of battle!"

As if summoned by his call, ethereal Spartan soldiers appeared behind him, brandishing weapons. Nezu, sitting on his throne, smiled so wide that you could practically feel his enthusiasm. "Leonidas, we finally meet!"

== authors note

OK, that's the end of this chapter. I am not a great at writing fight scenes so this is just more of an overview of what was happening. I mean it's a three hour Long fight. Giving exact details is a little frustrating for me. I'm not a huge fan Extremely long fight scenes and in my opinion, they can get pretty boring. Anyway, who thought it was Leonidas? I mean the chapter Name is 300 in Greek. I thought it was pretty obvious. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed bye.
