I wake up and try to hug Ryujin. When I don't feel anyone next to me, I sit up right away. I look around the room and Ryujin is nowhere to be found.
"No no. This isn't real. Ryujin was here. She's alive. No. Please" I try to stand and I fall on my knees. This can't be true. Last night wasn't a dream. I swear she's here.
I close my eyes and scream. The pain in my heart is there again. I hear the door open and someone running in.
"Hey what's wrong?" I open my eyes and I see Ryujin.
I cry even Iouder, "Where were you?! I thought you being alive was a dream. I thought you were actually dead!" I weakly hit her.
"I'm sorry. I really had to pee. I waited for a while to see if you would wake up until I couldn't hold it anymore" she says while pulling me into her arms.
"I'm here now. I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me she says soothingly.
"What's going on here?" I hear Karina ask.
"Yeji had a nightmare I died and she woke up while I was in the hathroom" Ryujin explains to her.
I calm down a bit now, knowing Ryujin is here.
"Are you going to be okay hanging out with my friends today?" Ryujin ask.
I nod my head. "Yes. I think I need the distraction."
"Are you sure?" My sister ask.
"Yes. I should get ready for the day I try to stand up but I'm still feeling weak.
Ryujin help me stand up and we walk to the bathroom together. She help me get inside and I use the sink to support myself. She walks out when she notices that I can support myself.
I pee, wash my hands, brush my teeth and wash my face. I'm slowly getting my strength back so I'm able to walk out by myself when I finish.
When Ryujin sees me, she runs to me and help me sit at the table so we can eat breakfast.
"Are you feeling better?" She ask while helping me sit down.
"Yes. I'm better" I smile at her.She prepares my plate, giving me a little bit of everything my sister and Travis cooked. "What do you want to drink? We got water, milk, orange juice, apple juice. coffee?" She ask.
"Water is fine" I say.
She gets me water and I say thank you. She sits down next to me then start cutting the pancakes and sausages that's on my plate.
I look at her weirdly, "What are you doing?" I ask.
"I'm cutting up your food so you don't have to. I don't know how well you slept last night so you might not have a lot of energy" she says as she finishes up.
"Thank you. You didn't have to do that though I say.
"I want to" she smiles at me.
"This is too cheesy. I can't handle it. We're we like this when we first started dating?" Travis ask Karina.
"Sometimes I wish you're this cheesy" Karina starts eating her food and Travis shut up right away.
"What's the plan with your friends?" Travis ask.
"First thing, my mom wants to know if Eva could hang out with them for the day while you meet my friends, if that's okay with you?" She looks at me.
"That's okay. Can we see her though before we go to your friends?" I ask.
"That was the plan. We can go after breakfast. They did send a lot of pictures of her so you can see it" Ryujin says handing me her phone which surprises me.
Dana doesn't really let me touch his phone and Ryujin just gives me hers like it's no big deal. I go through the pictures and I smile because Eva looks so happy. There's a picture of Yuna and Gabe playing together with her and Eva is smiling while eating breakfast. They already treat Eva so well and it makes my heart swell.
After we eat breakfast, we get ready to go to the main house. We walk out and Ryujin opens the car door for me then I suddenly remember my dream of her dying because of a car accident. I also know that she needs to drive. I try my best to overcome it but Ryujin already notices something is wrong.
"It's gonna be okay, Yeji. Don't let your nightmare win. I'm here" She tries to encourage me. We get in the car, same with my sister and Travis.
Pulline in the drivewav. I see Eva and Gabe runnine around outside. I think Eva is enjoying having a playmate that's not me.
I get out of the car and Eva runs to me as soon as she sees me.
"Hi baby girl. Did you have fun while I was gone?" I pick her up and give her a big hug.
She happily nods her head and hugs me back. "We play a lot" she says.
We walk in the house and say hi to Ryujin's family. Mrs. Shin offers me and my sister food right away because she's afraid were not eating well enough especially since we're hoth pregnant.
"Thank you for letting Eva spend the day with us. She's such a sweetheart" Mrs. Shin tells me.
"I should be thanking you for treating her so well" I smile at her.
"You've raised her well so far Mr. Shin joins.
"Thank you" I say.
We continue to chat until it was time for us to go see Ryujin's friends. I guess they've been texting my girlfriend nonstop asking when are we gonna show up.
We get back in the car. "What are we doing today?" I ask.
"They wanted to take the boat out but it's too cold and I'm afraid you might get sick. So we will have to figure out something else she says.
"Are you not concern I might get sick too?" Karina fakes being hurt.
"That's a job for Travis Ryujin jokes.
"You little shit" Karina says and we all laugh.
We arrive back at the cottage and her friends are all waiting outside.
"What took you so long?" Chaeryeong ask.
"Why are you so impatient?" Ryujin ask instead of answering.
'T'd like to go on that boat ride" I say interrupting their useless conversation.
"Are you sure?" Ryujin holds my hand.
"Yes. I want something where I can relax and we can all chat instead of doing something that can he distracting" I say. "On a boat it is!" Lia claps.
I still find it weird that Ryujin's ex is here but oddly enough, I don't feel any sort of tension between her and Ryujin. They do seem like they're just friends.
Ryujin goes back to the cottage, making me confuse when she comes back out holding a bag.
"What's that?" I say to her.
"Extra jackets and blankets in case you and your fragile sister gets cold" she smirks at my sister and Karina just flips her off.
"Wow, Ryujin is such a caring girlfriend" her two guys friends teases her.
"Don't be jealous because I actually have a girlfriend" she sticks out her tongue at them.
We cross the street and step onto the dock. Ryujin helps the two guys take off the boat cover. Once it's off, everyone starts getting in. Ryujin is the last on because she helped me first.
"Who's driving?" Karina ask.
"Ryujin usually does. She doesn't trust us" Lia says.
"Is there anything you can't do?" I ask, not meaning to say it out loud.
"There's a lot of things she can't do but she's just active when it comes to driving different things. Her dad and grandpa made sure she knows how operate cars, tractors, motorcycles, boats and many other things" Chaeryeong answers for her.
"Why is that?" Karina ask.
"Because Ryujin showed interest and her other sisters didn't Lia answers now.
"You really know a lot of about her huh?" Travis says.
"We all have been friends since middle school. We literally grew up with each other in this small town" Zach now answers.
Ryujin drives the hoat like a professional. I like how sexy she looks driving with one hand while standing up instead of sitting down.
"Is Ryujin good in hed?" Her friend Evan suddenly sits next to me. I look around and everyone seems to be busy with something.
"Lia won't tell us so I'm curious" he chuckles.
"Isn't that a hit personal?" I say.
"I guess one could take it that way" he leans back enjoying the breeze.
"Don't make her uncomfortable" Lia joins us.
"I'm not" he says.
"You're asking her about me and Ryujin, she's her girlfriend. Use your head dumbass" Lia shakes her head.
I do start feeling uncomfortable. The thought of Lia and Ryujin being intimate doesn't make feel upset. I can't really say anything because it's not like I haven't been intimate with other people hut why does that guy have to bring it up. Thankfully, Lia stops him.
Evan leaves so now it's just Lia and 1.
"I hope it won't be awkward between us. I know it might be since I'm her ex" Lia starts a conversation with me.
"I wasn't feeling awkward until he mentioned you two being intimate" I say truthfully.
"He's stupid. Don't mind him. When Ryujin and I dated, we were literally acting like we're still friends. She never treated me like she does with you or even looked at me like she looks at you. I really don't want to lose her as a friend so I hope you won't ever make her choose between you and me because we're not in the same category. Your her love and I'm just her friend so please she says and I can tell she's actually scared of losing Ryujin.
"I won't. I was worried at first that I would sense some sort of longing between you two but there's nothing. I just see your genuine friendship with each other" I smile at her and she relaxes a bit.
"Thank you" She suddenly hugs me.
I hesitantly hug her back. I look over at Ryujin and she's smiling at us.
We just continue chatting and getting to know each other. Karina and Travis seems to enjoy being with Ryujin's friends too. It's getting late so we go back to the dock and Ryujin parks the boat.
After saying goodbye, Travis and Karina went back to the cottage to relax. Ryujin and I go to the main to pick up Eva.
We go back to the cottage and get ready for bed. Ryujin reads her stories to Eva and my baby falls asleep right away. She has a little bed set up in the bedroom.
Ryujin and I lay down in bed. Again, I cuddle myself into her and I'm just glad she's not annoyed by it. I'm afraid to have that nightmare again.
"It's gonna be okay. I'll be here again tomorrow" she says and I can tell she's sleepy.
"I love you Ryujin" I yawn.
"I love you too" she squeezes me.
