Chapter 58 - CHAPTER 58

Adam stood on the sidelines, waiting for his moment to shine.

"Luton is about to make a substitution! Player #22, Adam White, a 17-year-old winger, is coming on! He'll be replacing Luton's striker, Charlie Austin, who's just 19!" the commentator announced.

Adam White bounced on his toes, trying to keep his energy up while waiting. He was excited, but also focused.

Charlie Austin, who had played a solid 62 minutes, wasn't fazed by the substitution. The coach had decided that he would play for around 65 minutes, so Austin was already prepared to make way.

As the whistle blew for the change, Charlie gave Adam a high-five, and they both sprinted onto the field.

"Great job, Charlie! Go get changed in the locker room," Coach Ethan shouted, giving the young striker a quick hug.

"No, Coach! I want to stay and watch the team win from the bench!" Charlie protested.

Over on the Chelsea bench, Luiz Felipe Scolari, watching the substitution closely, was intrigued.

"Substituting in a 17-year-old winger? What's the idea behind this?" Scolari asked his assistant.

"He's quick, very skilled with the ball, and good at taking players on one-on-one," came the reply.

Scolari raised an eyebrow. The opponent was clearly trying to strengthen their attack. But he wasn't worried. After all, how much of a threat could a 17-year-old from the second division pose to Chelsea's world-class defenders? Even if the kid was fast and tricky, could he really compete with the likes of Ashley Cole?

But little did Scolari know, Adam White wasn't just any young winger. With Ethan's insight and the strategic use of the football card system, Adam had become a different player.

Ethan looked on as Adam dashed across the pitch. He knew this kid had immense potential. At only 17, Adam already had several abilities that were rated over 80, which put him on par with top-tier players.

Despite his youth, Adam had the potential to be more than just a good player. With Ethan's guidance, Adam could become a star—maybe even better than Robben, Ethan thought to himself.

Ethan activated two cards in his system to enhance Adam's abilities: one boosted his dribbling skills by 15%, and the other increased his speed by 7%. The world wouldn't notice the change, but Ethan knew—Adam was now a world-class winger.

"Don't waste this chance, Adam!" Ethan muttered under his breath, eyes locked on the young winger on the field.

Meanwhile, Adam was on the ball for the first time, running up against Chelsea's defensive icon, Ashley Cole.

Adam, full of youthful excitement, grinned as he approached the veteran full-back. "Hey, Ashley! Can I get your autograph after the game?"

Ashley Cole, not amused, shot him a cold glance. "I'll sign your jersey after the match. But not now, kid!"

Adam, undeterred, smiled even wider. "I'd love your autograph, Cole, but right now, I'd rather beat you!"

Ashley Cole raised an eyebrow at the young winger's boldness. He didn't think much of him at first, but he wasn't about to underestimate him either. As a seasoned full-back, he knew not to take any opponent lightly—no matter how young or unknown.

Back at the commentary desk, He Hongfa remarked, "Coach Ethan's substitution is quite a surprise. Adam White, only 17, replacing a striker like Charlie Austin, who's been impressive so far. Is this substitution meant to bolster their counterattack speed?"

While Adam hadn't had a chance to touch the ball yet, Chelsea was still controlling possession. Ashley Cole and the Chelsea midfield were orchestrating the attack, but they were wary of Adam's presence.

Ashley Cole, now at the forefront of Chelsea's offensive push, took the ball forward. But when he saw Adam closing in, he didn't force the cross, knowing the young winger had enough pace to track him down.

With Kanter filling in to cover the flank, Ashley Cole played it back to Malouda, who found Lampard. Lampard took a shot, but it was blocked by Jeffrey, the Luton defender.

Adam had yet to see much action, but the substitution was already making an impact. The speed and energy he brought onto the field could change the game—if only he could get his hands on the ball.

"Luton's counterattack is on!" He Hongfa exclaimed excitedly!

Jeffrey played a direct ball forward, aiming for Adam White!

Adam didn't wait for the ball to come to him, as Ashley Cole was already sprinting back after the pass!

Adam surged forward quickly, controlling the ball with his chest before guiding it with his right foot!

"Beautiful skill!" Letkinson's eyes widened, now showing genuine interest in the young player who had just been substituted.

Ashley Cole immediately closed the space on Adam, positioning himself tightly in defense. He wasn't taking Adam lightly despite his youth.

"Make the move and explode with pace!"

Adam remembered Ethan's advice!

Even though his opponent was the experienced Ashley Cole, Adam was determined!

With a series of quick stepovers, Adam tried to deceive Cole, but the veteran remained perfectly still!

"Such quick feet!" Little Redknapp was equally impressed.

Seeing that his feints hadn't worked, Adam decided to use his pace to break away!

He pushed the ball forward, keeping it within a meter of his feet as he accelerated!

"Great dribbling rhythm!" Letkinson's voice grew louder, as if he were witnessing the birth of a new English star.

The English media were quick to praise any young English talent showing promise, often hyping them as future national heroes after just a few good performances.

"Such speed!" Ashley Cole, startled, struggled to keep up!

Adam White's strides grew longer and faster, and he quickly closed the distance between him and the legendary defender.

Just as Cole prepared to challenge for the ball, Adam increased his pace!

With a quick shift to his right, Adam accelerated explosively, leaving Cole behind with a burst of speed!

He took the outside route and surged ahead!

In the commentary booth, Letkinson jumped to his feet in amazement!

Ashley Cole was left trailing in the dust!

Adam White raced forward like a sports car, leaving Cole behind with the kind of pace that caught everyone by surprise!

"Who is this kid?!"

Scolari, stunned, shouted to his assistant.

Meanwhile, the other commentators scrambled to get more information, ripping off their headsets.

"I need details!" one shouted.

"Who is this player? Tell me now!"
