Chapter 52 - Chapter 51: W-What Are You Doing?!

The seat that once belonged to the self-proclaimed Water Goddess, Aqua, was now taken by Yazuki, who carelessly plopped down onto it. He grabbed the book that she had just been using to check the posthumous information of people and began flipping through it.

In the next moment, his fingers brushed across the page, and a sensation similar to being electrocuted occurred. He was attempting to analyze and invade this book. No, more accurately, it was one of the vast systems' connection terminals.

He furrowed his brow slightly; it wasn't easy to invade. If he exerted more power, he wasn't sure whether his body would lose balance.

"Uuuuu..."

A muffled sobbing sound echoed, making him move the book slightly and shift his gaze to the source of the noise—Aqua, the Water Goddess.

She lay on the ground like a defeated dog, her face pressed against the floor. Her back half was raised and trembling, and the awkward pose revealed her round, shapely backside under her skirt, almost exposing her secret garden.

Her curvy, well-rounded hips made it difficult for him to concentrate. Was she not wearing any underwear?

Hmm? His brow twitched. Someone—or rather, some god—was approaching. It seemed like he had no choice but to leave.

He glanced once more at the twitching body of the goddess.

His gaze became cold, almost robotic, as if all human emotion had vanished.

The temperature in the entire space dropped to absolute zero, and the air seemed to tremble under an invisible pressure. Aqua, who had been crying out, shook violently before turning toward him.

"You... what are you going to do...?" she asked in a hoarse voice, trembling, as if she were a helpless girl about to be assaulted. Her water-blue eyes glistened with tears, filled with fear as she frantically scooted backward, trying to distance herself.

Before her stood a demon, someone far worse and more cruel than she had ever imagined. She had never encountered a human so vicious that they would beat a goddess.

And to make matters worse, he was beating her face, despite the common rule of never hitting the face!

If she weren't the Water Goddess with her strong healing abilities, she would have likely had her skull crushed.

The goddess continued crying, unaware of what was truly happening, but her instincts sensed the terrifying, deadly crisis that was rapidly approaching. She trembled uncontrollably.

"Hah~"

A sigh escaped from Yazuki. Although this goddess seemed a bit eccentric, the conclusion drawn from his Demon Eyes was that she was still a legitimate goddess of order. Maybe it was just that she had a low IQ?

Was she mentally impaired?

Bullying someone with such low intelligence felt pointless.

He was really annoyed and didn't want to deal with these so-called gods anymore. All he wanted was to peacefully enjoy things like games, anime, novels, and other things that otaku dream of.

If a god randomly disappears, the investigation will eventually lead to him, and that would spark yet another annoying battle.

A battle so fierce it could shake the heavens and the earth, messing everything up, especially affecting the real world. If things went wrong, the entire 2D otaku culture could come to an end—this was the most frustrating thing. He was already tired of it.

Speaking of which, he now seemed to be affected by the so-called humanity that came with his human body. Otherwise, with his current self, who hadn't even returned to reality, he would never tolerate such behavior from a god.

"Look at me!"

"Huh? Mm!"

After a brief shock, the goddess's pupils lost focus. The reflection of Yazuki in her eyes slowly blurred and faded into emptiness, his soul was directly interfering with her memory.

"Has it come? Well, it's fine. I probably won't see you again anyway!"

In order to prevent his physical body in the real world from collapsing due to excessive soul power overflow, he could only use a limited amount of power to erase this goddess's memories of his visit, and he gave her a suggestion that she had been slacking off and sleeping from the very beginning.

He glanced at the glowing ring forming in the air, and Yazuki's figure was sucked into a black hole-like point and vanished.

After the ring exploded with dazzling white light, a winged young girl appeared from the empty space. The girl looked like an angel.

"Aqua-sama, you're mistaken. You should be guiding—eh?"

The angel girl, who had hurried over, looked quite puzzled. But as she spoke, she noticed her senior, Aqua, lying in a miserable position on the ground. The worst part wasn't just that, but that she wasn't speaking.

When silent, Aqua was indeed an incredibly beautiful goddess, but now, her face looked like that of a pig. It was no exaggeration, she really looked tragic.

"A-Aqua-sama, what... what happened to you?"

The angel girl, taken aback, rushed over and tried to help her disoriented senior up, shaking her lightly in an attempt to wake her.

Under normal circumstances, when a goddess had been attacked so viciously, the angel girl should have immediately initiated a safety alert. But she hesitated.

Why? Because this could very well be Aqua's own fault. She had heard the rumors about her senior's reputation among the gods, and it was truly hard to describe.

As a senior, Aqua was often reckless and arrogant, never thinking things through. Even though she was a goddess responsible for guiding young souls to the afterlife, she often showed up late and left early, frequently encouraging young souls to go to other worlds.

The angel girl was in charge of that other world, and she didn't know what to say about her senior.

It was a dilemma.

On one hand, she hoped the souls Aqua guided would defeat the demon lord of that world, but on the other hand, Aqua often caused trouble by sending over individuals with forbidden artifacts, which fell into the wrong hands and made things worse.

Because of Aqua's careless actions, which caused a lot of trouble, the workload for many goddesses had increased significantly, and she had earned a lot of hostility.

Not long ago, the angel girl had heard that some goddesses were secretly keeping an eye on Aqua, waiting for her to make a big mistake so they could punish her. Most likely, her current miserable state was the result of that.

After all, Aqua had really messed up this time.

She had summoned the wrong person—someone who shouldn't have been summoned was brought over, while the person who should have died was left behind.

This was a serious case of neglect.

As the angel girl who should have been the first to notice, she tried to manually correct the mistake before the Heavenly Realm's correction system could notice, to prevent her senior from being punished.

It seemed that the angel girl was a step too late.

"Mm? Eh? Eris? What are you doing here?"

Aqua, who had just woken up, muttered in a dazed voice.

"Mm, why does my face feel so hot and painful? Uwahh—what happened to my face? I just took a nap! Why is my face so swollen?!"

To Eris, the angel girl, this sounded like a weak excuse—just Aqua trying to save her reputation.

In her mind, it was probably because other goddesses had caught her senior's mistake and, using that as leverage, had vented their anger by beating her up. Aqua, unable to admit it, was now pretending to be crazy.

As the younger one, Eris couldn't directly expose her senior's behavior, it would be too embarrassing for Aqua.

Sighing deeply, Eris looked at her pitiful senior, who was still crying and sniffling. She hoped that this experience would teach her to be more careful in her work.

By the way, she had heard that there was a high demand for heroes recently, likely in response to potential major changes that might occur.

If that happened, the workload for these goddesses would increase as well. She hoped that Aqua wouldn't cause any more trouble, because that would truly be disastrous.
