Chapter 37 - Chapter 2: A day with friends and a little bear without pajamas (3)

Parte 3

The rampaging bear was spreading terror among the zoo visitors.

People were running in all directions, tripping over one another.

But a small group of children, frozen with fear, stood motionless in a tight circle, clinging to each other as the bear charged at full speed.

At that moment, the massive bear raised its claw violently.

The children screamed but someone stepped in.

Akari, her delicate dress still shining, blocked the bear's claw like she was stopping a misbehaving plush toy.

"Get out of here, kids!" she shouted, straining to hold back the other paw as well.

But the children didn't move. Fear had them rooted to the ground.

That's when a soft, familiar voice rang out:

"Wonderful World! Bunny Rescuers~!"

A wave of blue, magical bunnies zipped beneath the children, gently lifting them off the ground and carrying them away like floating feathers.

Akari turned for a moment and saw Mirai, wand in hand and wearing a sweet smile.

"Thanks, Mirai!"

But in that brief distraction, the bear moved again—one claw slipped free and tore part of Akari's dress, leaving a jagged rip in the fabric.

She grabbed hold again, tightening her grip on its front paws to restrain it.

"Bad bear! You ruined my new dress!" she pouted.

"Still… I don't want to hurt you…" she added through clenched teeth. "Where are the zookeepers?!"

Like a flash, Shizuki appeared to the side, aiming her massive silver handgun.

"Shizuki, don't kill it!" Akari shouted, alarmed.

Shizuki didn't reply immediately. She just looked at her… with that same cold, unreadable expression as always. For a second, she looked like she was about to be accused of an environmental crime.

"Stun Volt," she finally said—and fired.

A violet electric projectile shot through the air and struck the bear on the back.

The creature collapsed with a low groan, completely unconscious but unharmed.

"How rude," Shizuki muttered, holstering her weapon without changing expression. "I would never harm an innocent animal."

Just then, the zoo guards arrived.

The bear growled sadly… then quietly slipped the handcuffs onto himself. He gently nudged the guards to escort him back to his habitat.

His expression clearly said:

"It was safer in there…"

—like a scolded puppy that just wanted to return to its corner.

The children came running back, eyes sparkling with wonder.

"Thank you, miss! You're super strong!" said one little girl, gazing up at Akari in awe.

"Hehe… I know," Akari replied, puffing out her chest proudly. "Eat your veggies if you want to be this strong! Hehe!"

"Thanks to you too, sweet lady… and spooky lady," added another child, pointing to Mirai and Shizuki.

The British girl dropped to her knees, utterly defeated by the nickname.

"Looks like the spooky lady didn't last long," Jake muttered, arms crossed.

Touma walked up to Akari with a smile.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, but… the bear ruined the beautiful dress Shizuki picked out for me…" she replied, glancing over at her friend, who was still in defeated mode.

"As long as you're safe, we can always get you another one."

And so, together, they continued their day… as if nothing had happened.

Because honestly, taking down a rogue bear wasn't all that unusual for students of Seisen.

That same night, at the Tsubasa household…

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!"

Thundering footsteps echoed down the stairs. A sliding door slammed open and a red-haired boy burst into the living room like a missile.

"Mom! Did you know Akari has a boyfriend!? She's all over the news!"

Their mother, lounging on the couch with a facial mask on, didn't even flinch.

"Don't be ridiculous, Makoto. Must be your imagination. No one in their right mind would date your sister."

"I'm serious!" Makoto pulled out his phone and started showing her the pictures Akari had sent him.

In every photo, she looked happy with Touma—eating crepes, hugging a bear, watching marmots… it looked like a couple's album.

"Hmm… he's quite the handsome young man. Are you sure this isn't one of those love filter edits?"

"MOM, THIS IS SERIOUS!"

At that moment, heavy footsteps echoed from the kitchen… like a monster emerging from its cave.

"What did you just say, Makoto?"

The air thickened.

A massive man, just as red-haired as Akari but three times taller, appeared, radiating demonic energy.

"Dad… there's some idiot dating Akari. I have to get to Okinawa right now!"

"Who dares lay a finger on my princess!?" the father roared, clenching his fists as dark steam rose from his body like a final boss.

Their mother, still not looking away from the TV, switched the channel to the news.

"It's true—they're talking about her and her classmates."

'Seisen teens stop bear, save the day!'

On the screen, Akari and Touma appeared in an interview.

"That's him! That's the brat dating Akari!"

"I'M GOING TO TEAR HIM APART!" growled the father, lifting his arm as if to summon a legendary suplex.

But before either of them could move, the mother calmly reached for a decorative bat on top of the TV.

With pinpoint precision, she bonked them both on the head.

"You two will not mess with my baby's happiness," her voice shifted suddenly—

No longer a sweet mom, but a gang leader.

"Or do I need to remind you why they used to fear me in Tokyo, huh?"

With a dangerous smile, she pointed her bat at a newspaper clipping pinned to the wall like a war trophy.

The headline read:

"Aira Yamada, the Crimson Terror Causes Chaos in Shibuya."

In the photo, a short teenage version of her posed in a leather jacket and dark shades, with the expression of a mini anime villainess.

Both men bowed instantly, trembling.

"Y-yes, Mom…"

"Y-yes, dear…"

"That's better."

"Now go to the conbini and get me some strawberry ice cream. And be quick."

"YES, MA'AM!" they shouted, bolting out like soldiers fleeing a battlefield.

Mrs. Tsubasa turned her eyes back to the screen, sparkling with joy.

"My daughter looks so cute… I can't wait to meet her boyfriend! Her wedding… I need to see dresses! I want grandkids~!"

And so, in the midst of Mrs. Tsubasa's near-cosmic level delusions, the entire family began to convince themselves that little Akari had a full-blown love life…

And somewhere far away in Okinawa… Touma Kisaragi had just unknowingly won over an entire family.
