Lucius was fast asleep on the bed, while Iris sat on the couch nearby, going through some files. Her eyes moved between the pages, but her attention kept drifting back to Lucius.


'He said he would help me,' Iris shook her head in amusement, 'He is…'


He looked peaceful… Even handsome in sleep. She stared at him for a moment longer before turning her attention back to the files.


Soon she was done going through them. She stacked the papers neatly and pushed them aside with a small sigh. 


Her body felt tired, so she stretched her arms. Then, without thinking much, she stood up and walked over to the bed.


She leaned down, watching Lucius's face closely. Her fingers reached up and gently touched his cheek, almost feeling the warmth of his body.


For a moment, she looked at him silently… and then quickly pulled her hand away, like she had just woken up from a strange dream.
