Chapter 20 - Chapter 7: The Real Culprit_3

Of course, Zhou Qingfeng wouldn't suspect Toto just for that, but his attention was drawn to the 'Scorpion Bar', so the next steps were easy.

Realizing the importance of the 'Scorpion' bar, he immediately went to buy wireless cameras and power banks.

Before dark, the street outside the bar was still bustling. Taking advantage of the crowd, he sneaked in and placed three wireless cameras in the corners of the bar, then quietly waited for the 'actors' to appear.

After dark, remnants of two gangs gathered there, recounting the events of the previous night, and then being taken away by the police one by one.

Zhou Qingfeng witnessed the whole process, but he remained hidden. Those remnants were wandering around aimlessly, searching blindly. It was clear they weren't the main players.

Until Toto appeared, riding a bicycle and cautiously stopping and walking, circling the bar before entering decisively...

Zhou Qingfeng saw everything clearly on the surveillance footage. Connecting this to Toto's unusual behavior during the day, he instantly realized the main player had appeared and connected all the causes and effects.

During the shootout last night, Toto didn't flee after the gunfire but took the risk to steal the lottery ticket. However, the appearance of the police ruined his plans.

Because everyone on the scene of the shootout would be taken to the police station for either interrogation or recording a statement, and they would certainly be searched.

To avoid the lottery ticket being found, Toto hid it in a gap in the bar counter. He was released early because he wasn't involved in the shootout and due to his student status.

He didn't dare to come for the lottery ticket during the day, choosing to come at night. He also put on an act of 'the prodigal son returns' to avoid any mishaps.

But Zhou Qingfeng's unexpected intervention changed the course of events completely.

On the ground, the bleeding from Toto's carotid artery was rapid. He desperately opened his mouth, craving for breath, craving for rescue, but could only make a gurgling sound as blood kept pouring out from his mouth.

His body convulsed violently, his clothes soaked in blood, the pool of blood on the ground expanding continuously.

His gaze gradually grew dim, but he still stared fixatedly at the pantyhose-wearing Zhou Qingfeng, wanting to curse him with his last bit of strength.

The death process was quick, only two or three minutes.

Not long after, Toto's body lay still on the ground, motionless. His body temperature gradually dropped, his skin turned cold, all his vitality drained away with the blood.

Zhou Qingfeng coldly observed the once-arrogant body. After confirming Toto was dead, he slowly squatted down and reached towards his pocket.

Just as his fingers touched Toto's inner pocket, there was a barely perceptible noise at the bar door.

The sound was very faint, like the soft scraping of shoe soles on the ground, but it was particularly piercing in the silent bar.

Zhou Qingfeng's body instantly tensed. Without any hesitation, he rolled sideways rapidly like a ghost, dodging behind the bar counter.

Almost at the same instant, a handgun fired from the doorway, spitting fire, bullets whistling through the air, chasing his figure with continuous shots.

In the darkness, the gunshots echoed like thunderclaps, the muzzle flashes illuminating every corner of the bar.

The bullets hit where Zhou Qingfeng had just been, shattering the floor and walls, fragments flying everywhere.

Amidst the gunfire, a low voice came from the door, "Victor, stop hiding, I've recognized you.

Thanks for leading me to the lottery ticket. But I have a question... how did you know about this?"
