Chapter 40 - Chapter 15 Maid_3

In their eyes, the elite aura of Kelly was no more than that of a high-end slave. Despite her high education, high capabilities, and high attractiveness, she remained a tool at the mercy of money.

At the end of his speech, Old Beck chuckled, "I know quite a few JP Morgan executives, but since I don't have assets exceeding a billion US Dollars, they haven't gifted me such a high-end personal butler.

Victor, I'm not sure what this exclusive service feels like. If you're hesitant, why don't I try it out for a few days for you?"

"Get lost!"

With a huge sum about to fall into his hands, Zhou Qingfeng stood before the floor-to-ceiling window in Old Beck's office, looking up at the sky and down at the land, feeling refreshed and clear-headed.

Kelly stood behind him, maintaining an icy expression that matched her professional attire — dazzling yet decorous.

But her soul was as pliable as her figure, easily manipulated.

"Victor, how should I address you? Boss? Master? Young Master?" Kelly's voice was calm and cold.

"Call me Victor. I'm fully aware that I'm just a nouveau riche without foundation. No abilities, no background, no brains, just a bit luckier than others."

Zhou Qingfeng turned back and scrutinized her carefully.

At first glance, anyone would find this woman formidable. But over time, one would realize her face was quite pleasing — elegant, reserved, with a touch of professional savvy.

"Kelly, why did you choose to follow me? Do you have any compelling reasons? Like family? Debt? Scandals?"

Zhou Qingfeng couldn't help but ask. He couldn't understand why such a well-accomplished and attractive female elite would be so humble.

He naturally assumed Kelly must have some unspeakable difficulties.

But Kelly shook her head, her tone calm and candid, "I wasn't forced to come here.

I am very happy, with a warm family, two sons, and a husband who is a dentist earning over a million annually and loves me dearly.

I graduated from a prestigious school, have impeccable qualifications, and earn more than eight hundred thousand US Dollars a year. My parents are alive and well, with no childhood traumas or scandals.

The reason I took this job is simple — my previous job bored me, and I wanted to challenge myself."

After listening, Zhou Qingfeng's mind instantly conjured a phrase — pampered and unaccustomed to hardship. He chuckled and asked, "Do I need to pay your salary?"

"No need." Kelly replied briskly, "As long as your assets at JP Morgan are not below ten billion US Dollars, you can use my services for free. The consortium will naturally pay my salary."

"What if my assets fall below ten billion US Dollars?" Zhou Qingfeng asked tentatively.

"Unless you directly employ me, an assistant will take over my duties. But losing the super VIP status with the bank will close many convenient doors for you."

Listening to this, Zhou Qingfeng couldn't help but laugh, secretly sighing, "The world is indeed full of absurdity and irony."

After Zhou Qingfeng took off by helicopter, FBI Chief Inspector Karl paced back and forth frustratedly, his face darkened.

"That kid Victor must be just a front puppet. I bet the situation is far more complex than it appears."

"The fact that Beck Hughes arrived so quickly is no coincidence. It's probably an internal mole in cahoots with the financial circle."

"William Congers, he must be the mastermind behind this. Unable to step into the front, he found a litigator to help and pushed his daughter's boyfriend forward as a diversion."

"It's infuriating that they dare to use such a transparent trick to fool me. I will make sure to send Congers and his accomplices to prison."

The chief legal advisor of the lottery office, Richard, was full of resentment — watching a cooked duck fly away, anyone would be upset.

"Maybe we can leak some information to the media, create public pressure, and stop the lottery payout. At the very least, make that kid and his backing litigator come to us."

That's a good idea!

But Karl furiously grabbed Richard by the collar, yelling, "Are you creating pressure for that kid or for me?

It's easy for you to watch from the sidelines, but it's me handling the case, me with no leads, and it's me who will be scolded by superiors and public opinion then."

"You haven't benefitted, so you want to overturn the table, right? If the media exposes this case, I will hold you responsible."
