However, this wasn't a problem for Adrian. The number of techniques he had probably surpassed those of even those large sects. Only the five 'super sects' could probably match him and maybe surpass him in the number of techniques he had access to.
The only problem left was the resources needed for his cultivation. However, he didn't have a choice about that.
He would have to acquire everything he needed by himself from now on. As he kept contemplating, he realized another problem with his plans: Jayson and Olivia.
Most of his time would be spent searching for precious resources. Those adventures would be dangerous, and he didn't know if he would be able to take care of them properly during his journey. He kept racking his brain, but he couldn't come up with a solution to that problem.
"Oh well, we'll see what happens," Adrian thought as he stopped thinking about the matter. There was no point in thinking about a matter that he could not currently provide a solution to.
After meditating for a few hours, Adrian was back at his peak. He excitedly retrieved the two vials filled with the medicinal essence of the two herbs.
He took a deep breath before going over the cultivation technique of the Diamond Sovereign Physique. The body cultivation technique was divided into four layers.
The first layer, which was known as the 'bronze body,' was the equivalent of the qi condensation realm. With his higher qi cultivation, this wouldn't give him too much of an advantage.
He was superior to anyone at the same cultivation stage. Still, it was a beginning.
He downed the vial containing the herbal essence of the Silvereye grass. Then he started circulating the cultivation technique of the great diamond body.
A wave of heat rose from the depths of his body. It was as if his blood had been set on fire.
However, he held it in. A single scream could not escape from his lips as he gritted his teeth and endured the pain. He had known beforehand that cultivating the great diamond body would come with such consequences.
Usually, body cultivation requires the body to temper slowly over a long period of time. However, the great diamond body does the opposite. As long as one can provide enough energy and withstand the pain, it is possible to reach a very high level in a short period of time. Of course, this was only possible in theory.
Aside from the fact that it would be hard to accumulate the amount of resources required to reach a high level, the cultivator's body had to also be able to withstand the huge amount of pressure it would be under.
Adrian maintained his current condition for about fifteen minutes when he sensed the heat reducing within his body.
He promptly took the vial containing the essence of the earth flower and downed its contents as well. The heat surged again within his body as his bones started to release a creaking sound. The nutrients were flowing through his muscles, bones, and blood as they were purifying it and increasing their toughness.
After about 30 minutes, a popping sound emitted from his body as some black liquid started to seep from his body. These were the impurities contained in his body and secreting them signified that his body was getting stronger.
After his body finished secreting the black liquid, a bronze halo converged around his body while he was still sitting down in the lotus position. The heat within his body had died down by then, so he wasn't in any more pain. He slowly opened his eyes to see himself covered in the bronze halo.
He was a bit surprised and excited. Before he started cultivating the Diamond Sovereign Physique, he had been a bit worried that his body would turn into the various stages of the cultivation technique.
Walking around with a bronze body definitely wouldn't be ideal with someone who wanted to remain low-key.
Seeing the halo around him relieved him of his worries as he excitedly started to inspect his body.
He used his sea of consciousness to inspect his body and was surprised to find out that all his internal organs were covered with a thin, film-like layer of bronze.
'It seems like it isn't only my body that gets an upgrade.' Adrian thought as his consciousness left his body to inspect the rest of his body.
The sudden change excited him, but he was not too surprised. After all, the Diamond Sovereign Physique was a Spirit rank cultivation technique. At its peak, it could allow one to reach the fourth rank of the body tempering realm, equivalent to a Nascent soul realm cultivator.
In fact, due to his strength, Adrian didn't have access to the full cultivation technique. He only had access to the technique up to the silver stage. Still, this was enough for him for now. His power had increased, which was what he desperately needed currently, so, he wasn't going to complain.
After sorting out his thoughts, he had an idea. Without hesitation, he closed his eyes and started concentrating. After a few seconds, the bronze halo withdrew into his body. He opened his eyes and was surprised to find that he could control the halo at will.
This was a wonderful development, meaning that he could conceal his strength when fighting. After he retracted the bronze halo, he stood up to test his newfound strength. However, before he could even throw a single punch, a wave of nauseating stench assaulted his nostrils.
He scrunched his nose before looking down at his body and realizing that he was the source of the smell. He promptly took off his clothes, which were already filled with the black goo, and tossed them in the corner of the cave.
'I guess I'm done with those. ' Adrian thought as a fresh pair of clothes appeared in his hands. He put it on but started feeling uncomfortable immediately. Some of the black goo had already dried on his skin, so he still felt dirty even after changing clothes.
'I need a bath, ' he promptly thought before opening the entrance to the cave and stepping out.
Any tests that he wanted to do could wait until he had cleaned himself up.
