She took one of her arrows from the quiver and channeled it with the power of fire. The man snapped the arrow effortlessly and pointed his finger, firing a beam toward her.
Owen watched from behind a tree, his heartbeat quickening. He didn't want to see someone die in front of him. As fear consumed him, everything suddenly went black.
The man's attack was deflected, leaving him stunned. The girl's vision was blurred by the dust from the explosion. "What just happened?" she thought.
Suddenly, something fast emerged from the dust. Before the man could react, a powerful punch sent him flying. A figure appeared above him and slammed him into the ground. The man tried to throw him off, but he saw a glowing leg covered in holy power descend upon him, kicking him back down.
Owen, now in a trance-like state, continued his relentless attack. Blow after blow, the man crumpled beneath his fists.
"Stop!" the girl shouted.
A sharp ringing sound snapped Owen back to reality. He shook his head, looking around. The girl was alive. Relief washed over him until he realized what he was holding.
His fingers were clutching a severed horn, and below him lay the lifeless body of the man covered with blood.
Owen's vision blurred, and he collapsed.
When he regained consciousness, he was in a cart driven by an old man.
Through the cart's opening, he saw the girl riding her creature beside them. She glanced at him and smiled.
The old man shouted, "Here we are—Melidyia Kingdom!"
