Chapter 12 - Beast summoning

The students gathered in the grand atrium, the center of the academy. The massive hall was filled with a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation, everyone eager to witness the beast summoning—a rite of passage for those in the academy who were ready to connect with a creature that would become their partner.

Victoria stood before them, her calm yet commanding presence setting the tone. With a single wave of her hand, a magical portal tore open in the air, and from it emerged a massive creature—a fire dragon with sleek black scales and vibrant hues of yellow and orange flickering along its body. The dragon let out a deafening roar that reverberated through the atrium, its fiery breath lighting the room as the students watched in awe.

As the dragon soared above them, Victoria addressed the class. "This is the beast you will summon. A manifestation of your power, your bond with the forces of this world. But remember—only those who truly understand their strength can bring forth a beast of such magnitude."

The students were mesmerized. Each of them now focused on the task at hand, raising their hands and channeling their mana into the air, trying to summon their beasts.

Leon stepped forward first, his focus sharp. A flash of light appeared before him, and a creature appeared—a majestic beast with the body of an eagle and the mane of a lion, its wings spreading wide. The students gasped in awe, impressed by the combination of grace and power.

Lucy followed next, her expression calm and focused. She whispered the incantation, and before her appeared a fire dragon—its scales shimmering with a white color and pink wings and it was small dragon. The students murmured in amazement, as Lucy's bond with her beast was already apparent.

Connor stepped up next, his magic pulsating through the air. A strange creature appeared beside him—a hybrid of sorts, with the body of a tiger and the wings of a bat. It snarled, and the students backed away, unsure of what kind of power it possessed.

Finally, it was Owen's turn. He stood there, hesitating for a moment, unsure of what to expect. He raised his hand, closing his eyes, and recited the incantation under his breath. A strange sensation filled the air, an overwhelming presence surrounding him, and for a brief moment, nothing happened.

But then, something began to materialize in front of him. Not a beast—but a man. A figure cloaked in shadow, his form shifting with an eerie darkness and sitting in a throne. The man appeared only in Owen's mind, his presence powerful and unsettling.

Owen froze, his heart pounding as he tried to understand what he was seeing. The figure before him spoke, not with words, but with a voice that rang clearly in his mind.

Then came a voice. Deep.Calm like still water, yet trembling with untold power.

"So… you've finally called."

"Who are you? Where is this place?"

A figure stepped out of the void—cloaked in black, his face masked in shifting shadows. His eyes were like two dying stars.

"They called me chaos incarnate, but I was merely the truth they could not accept."

"You're not… a beast."

"No. I am no beast. I am a god… or rather, I was. Banished from all verses—cast into the folds of forgotten time."

Owen felt a chill run down his spine.

"You reached deeper than most ever dared. And I—was waiting. You are not my puppet, Owen. You are my choice."

"If you're so powerful… why are you here?"

The man stepped closer, placing a hand on Owen's chest. Energy surged—black and purple lightning crawling across Owen's skin.

"Because even gods need vessels. And soon, you will become the very verses reckoning."

Owen clenched his fist, his breath heavy.

Suddenly, light burst into the void. Victoria's fire dragon had drawn near in the real world, trying to inspect Owen's magical aura. But in this mental realm, the god slowly looked upward.

His eyes glinted.

"Hmm… even beasts of flame recognize the old order."

Back in reality, Victoria gasped. Her dragon, despite its pride and power, growled and stepped back, its scales trembling.

"What!! my dragon step backward"

"It's impossible. What in the world did you summoned, Owen

Back in the void, Owen stared at the man.

"What happens now?"

"Now… you wake. And when you do—remember: I am always watching. Always listening."

A pulse of power exploded through Owen's body.

In the real world, Owen aura have gone berserk as he stood there like a statue.

Is aura become lighter and lighter and eventually he fainted.
