'Poof!'
A tearing sound suddenly rang out.
From Anilu's back, blood shot out violently as a deep gash was torn open by Rin's strike.
"Sh…"
Anilu gasped sharply, pain surging through his body. His expression turned pale as he reflexively transformed into pure lightning, distancing himself from Rin in a blink. His sharp gaze locked onto Rin with intense wariness.
That slash just now
For the first time in years, Anilu felt the approach of death. Since consuming the Goro Goro no Mi, he had grown arrogant, certain of his invincibility, having never sustained an injury this severe.
Now, fury boiled within him.
His self-proclaimed divinity challenged. His majesty—shaken.
"Bastard."
Staring at Rin with a darkened expression, Anilu growled coldly, "You're strong, I'll grant you that… but now, I'll show you why I'm called a god. Die by my ultimate move. You should feel honored, worm."
As the last syllable left his lips, lightning surged through his body.
Behind him, the four taiko drums etched with tomoe symbols began crackling with thunder.
"One hundred million volts… Thor!" Anilu roared.
Though he had once claimed to use 200 million volts in his battle against Luffy, in truth, the form he's summoning now—Thor is the most stable and refined manifestation of his devil fruit mastery, peaking at 100 million volts.
Thunder roared and exploded from his body. Blinding arcs of electricity spiraled outward as Anilu's form grew. Within seconds, his entire body was engulfed in a colossal humanoid avatar of pure lightning gigantic, radiant, and wreathed in crackling blue light.
"Perish." Anilu bellowed as Thor's gargantuan fist slammed toward Rin.
Rin's eyes narrowed. He didn't dare confront the thunderous titan's power head-on. With a sharp intake of breath, Rin disappeared in a burst of golden light.
Anilu, however, was relentless.
Thor's strikes came one after another, sending thunderous shockwaves across the battlefield. Lightning cracked the air, and dark clouds churned ominously above.
Far in the distance
The residents of Skypiea looked up, gazes fixed upon the chaos over Apayado.
Above the Upper Yard, storm clouds boiled like a divine omen. Bolts of lightning carved across the heavens, a net of raw, divine fury.
"Is… is God angry?"
"Someone's provoked the wrath of Kami-sama?!"
"This is the end! Judgment is upon us!"
Voices trembled, hands folded in desperate prayer. Some dropped to their knees, bowing their heads as if repentance might spare them from divine retribution.
But for Rin, none of this mattered.
He weaved through Thor's sweeping strikes, dodging with pinpoint accuracy, relying on the incredible speed granted by the Pika Pika no Mi—light itself. Each flash of gold left afterimages, baffling even Anilu's Mantra (Observation Haki).
Yet, Rin knew he couldn't run forever.
Anilu's lightning giant was formidable, its body composed entirely of concentrated electricity. Unlike Luffy whose rubber body naturally countered Anilu's fruit Rin lacked innate resistance. A single hit could mean death.
"But if I can split Thor… and draw Anilu out…"
Muttering to himself mid-air, Rin shifted again, dodging another bolt of lightning.
Then came the second strike—Thor's right fist barreling forward once more, sparking with deadly intent.
Rin narrowed his eyes and launched into motion, appearing above the lightning avatar in a flash.
"You only know how to swing wildly?" Anilu shouted, frustration growing. "Fight me head-on if you dare!"
Rin's lips curled into a smirk. "As you wish."
'Buzz.'
Golden light condensed around Rin's right hand as he drew his blade—the Thunder Tribulation Knife—energy pulsing through its edge. The power of the Glint-Glint Fruit (Pika Pika no Mi) surged.
Dazzling radiance burst from the blade, golden rays weaving together to form a gigantic sword of concentrated light, its aura majestic, akin to Artoria's 'Excalibur'.
"Slash of Light!"
Rin roared, gripping the oversized blade with both hands and bringing it crashing down toward Thor.
'ROAR!'
Thor bellowed in kind, raising its massive lightning-formed arm to counterattack.
A seismic explosion erupted mid-air as the colossal blades clashed—light versus lightning. Blasts of pressure rolled out in shockwaves, rippling trees and flattening the land below.
"BREAK!" Rin shouted, pouring more light into the blade.
With a final push, the light sword cleaved through Thor's arm—then continued, slicing into Thor's chest and splitting the lightning giant in two.
A shriek of energy echoed.
The glowing mass of Thor exploded in a burst of electrical discharge—revealing Anilu's true body within.
"There you are."
A glint flashed in Rin's eye.
Golden light engulfed him as he vanished once again.
He reappeared behind Anilu in an instant, blade drawn, cold steel pressing to the self-proclaimed god's neck.
"What?!"
Anilu flinched, feeling the chill edge of the Thunder Tribulation Knife.
Then came Rin's calm voice.
"Anilu—you've lost."
As if responding to his voice, the massive lightning shell around Anilu dissolved completely.
Thor vanished.
Anilu, dazed, fell from midair and landed hard on the earth below, face full of disbelief.
He lay there, stunned.
Since devouring the Goro Goro no Mi, he had never lost. He had annihilated rebels, crushed priests, and subdued entire islands with a flick of his wrist. None could match his power not even the Sky Knight, Gan Fall.
He truly believed himself invincible.
Yet today
He lost.
A bitter chuckle escaped his lips.
"…Yes. I lost."
Clutching his wounded back, Anilu sat up, gritting his teeth through the pain. "I, Anilu, do not break my word. As promised, from today onward—I am… your partner."
Rin descended from the sky, boots softly touching down beside him.
With a relaxed expression, he sheathed his Thunder Tribulation Knife with a quiet shing.
Then he extended a hand.
"Welcome to the Pandora Pirates, Anilu."
Elsewhere on the battlefield
Casa and Artoria approached, the battle having ended decisively. Casa's eyes were wide with awe, admiration in his voice.
"That was insane… So that's the power of the Goro Goro no Mi, huh? If it weren't for your light-speed movement, Rin… I doubt we could've handled him."
He extended his hand toward the fallen god, now a comrade. "Welcome aboard, Anilu. I'm Casa."
Artoria offered a soft smile as well. "And I'm Artoria Pendragon. Good to have you."
