Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: The Secrets of the Su Family

I thought there might be some truth to Huang Jiu's comment about Second Uncle showing off in front of Su Dazhuang. After all, when you're in front of someone who looks down on you, it must feel pretty satisfying to reveal your abilities.

So, I threw the question back to Second Uncle. One, to help him out, and two, to see what else he might reveal.

When I mentioned the person could fly, Second Uncle didn't scoff like I did when I first heard it. His expression became serious. It felt like he had encountered a flying Daoist before, and the thought made my heart race. I hesitated, wondering if I should call Huang Xian'er to cover for us.

After a few seconds of silence, Second Uncle spoke, "If someone capable of flying were planning something, all of us would be dead by now."

"I suspect that the person behind this isn't just doing someone else's bidding; they're trying to steal the Su family's fortune. It feels like they have their own agenda."

Was it not related to business?

I furrowed my brows and asked Second Uncle, "Could it be another case of killing two birds with one stone?"

Second Uncle nodded. "That's a possibility."

If that was the case, then the person's intentions and calculations were a bit frightening.

Suddenly, Second Uncle turned to Su Dazhuang and asked, "Old man, is there something hidden in your family, something your old man brought with him to the grave?"

The Su family's wealth was built by the previous generation, with Su Dazhuang only expanding its scale. People who made it big in that era often had some shady methods or strange opportunities. After all, from what I understood, the Su family's assets were far from trivial. Without the right destiny, it would be impossible to sustain such great wealth.

Second Uncle's question wasn't unreasonable, but his tone made it sound like he was eyeing something buried in the grave.

Su Dazhuang, who was drinking water, started breathing heavily from the anger, but before he could start cursing, I said, "Grandfather, Second Uncle means that the person is likely after something in your parents' grave."

As I spoke, I was piecing things together. The poisonous snake wrapping around the waist became a black dragon wrapping around the waist, then the returning dragon blocking the flow of energy, and finally, the Five Poisons suppressing the dragon mouth. All of this had to do with luck and the dragon energy of the land.

Suddenly, I was struck with realization. I understood why Second Uncle had asked Su Dazhuang about something in his parents' tomb.

I had been in the city for a while, and the things I had dealt with hadn't gone wrong. But with Su Dazhuang's case, I had only thought about breaking the feng shui arrangement and hadn't considered the deeper issues.

I looked at Second Uncle and took a deep breath, saying, "Their target is your parents' tomb, Grandfather."

Second Uncle nodded. "They're not working alone. Yang Yang, you keep the potential intruder in the villa occupied, Su Dazhuang, you come with me to the cemetery. On the way, tell me about your father."

Second Uncle's tone sounded strange, which made Su Dazhuang even angrier.

I worried that they might start fighting on the way, and we wouldn't even make it to the cemetery. But at this point, there was nothing else we could do.

Second Uncle dragged Su Dazhuang out the door, but just before they reached the door, he stopped and turned to ask me, "Yang Yang, have you ever watched a shadow play?"

In the countryside, shadow plays were a dying art. When I was a child, I'd watched a few times when my mom took me to see itinerant performers.

I didn't understand why Second Uncle suddenly brought it up.

He continued, "The secret behind the person who can fly is like a shadow play. The thing that flies might not even be human."

Huang Jiu piped up, "That's impossible. I clearly saw a black shadow."

Second Uncle didn't explain further, pulling Su Dazhuang out the door and into the car.

I frowned, thinking about what Second Uncle had said.

Hearing the car start, I didn't overthink it. I drew out my blood spike and prepared to head out. The maids, in a panic, asked, "Young Master, what should we do?"

"Stay here, don't wander around," I instructed. Then I stepped outside, closed the door, and bit my tongue to draw a protective symbol across the door gap.

Because the person Second Uncle was referring to likely wasn't alive.

When Second Uncle saw me head outside, he immediately floored the gas pedal, speeding away.

I chased to the gate but didn't see anything following Second Uncle. Only then did I feel a little relieved.

However, just as I let out a sigh of relief, Huang Jiu, sitting on my shoulder, suddenly yanked my hair.

I turned in a flash. As I looked back, a dark shadow swooped down right at me.

It looked like a giant bat, but I could make out the outlines of its limbs. It was human-shaped.

I quickly formed a seal and cast a "Dou" spell. The shadow was sent soaring into the air and flew toward the backyard.

From the speed and posture, it didn't seem like a ghost or an illusion.

Confused, I still chased after it.

The backyard of the villa wasn't that large, but once I arrived, I opened my spiritual eyes. The energy in Su Dazhuang's house was chaotic.

I could see six dragon mouths, along with various erratic energy vortices. I couldn't determine where the shadow was hiding. After a brief hesitation, I turned and headed straight for the first dragon mouth.

If the person had targeted the tomb's energy, they would have accounted for me breaking the formation and used the returning dragon to temporarily scatter the Su family's fortune.

Once the energy was scattered, the house would turn into a calamity, and the tomb would become empty. It was a two-in-one strategy.

But I couldn't understand why the person would go through all this trouble to disturb the energy around Su Dazhuang's family tomb.

At least I would be able to solve this mystery once Second Uncle returned.

Reaching the first dragon mouth, I watched as the returning dragon's energy surged. I fumbled through my pocket but couldn't find anything useful.

The Buddha bone relic definitely couldn't be used to suppress a dragon mouth. The Five Emperors Coins had already been taken, and using the relic would be like sending meat to a dog.

Unable to find anything useful, I was frustrated.

Looks like I'll have to go to the antique market sometime and hunt for some old items.

Huang Jiu, still on my shoulder, whispered, "Just pee on it. The urine of a young boy is the most toxic. The dragon mouth will shut up once it swallows it."

Second Uncle had hinted before that I was still technically a child, so I hadn't gone through a proper ceremony. But this pee couldn't be poured directly onto the dragon mouth.

Otherwise, it would close, and Su Dazhuang's fortune wouldn't be restored, which would lead to the family's downfall.

At that point, Second Uncle wouldn't inherit the estate.

After hesitating, I decided to try peeing nearby instead.

To my surprise, it worked. It blocked some of the dragon mouths without fully closing them.

I quickly relieved myself at three different spots.

When I reached the fourth dragon mouth, the dark shadow finally couldn't hold back anymore and swooped down from the void again, heading straight for me.

I hadn't closed the dragon's mouth, and didn't care about the mess, using my hand to scoop up some of my urine and throwing it at the shadow.

If it wasn't human, no matter how powerful it was, it would be scorched by the boy's urine.

The shadow came at me fast, and I was decisive. As soon as the urine hit it, the shadow let out a sizzling sound.

There was a smell of corrosion, and smoke rolled up as the shadow swiftly retreated, letting out a scream.

But just as I landed a hit, a long black shadow suddenly lunged for my... prized possession.

Luckily, Second Uncle had warned me, so I was prepared. I thrust the blood spike forward, and just inches from my "prized possession," the shadow was impaled.

Only then did I realize it was a black snake, as thick as my wrist.

Its mouth was wide open, with two venomous fangs aimed straight at my... prized possession.

This sight sent a cold sweat down my back, and I quickly pulled my pants up.
