Commander Nootra went on, his gaze locked on Seraphina: 'Seems like some countries found out about immune ones and using the power of the demons and angels. We had a discussion with them. Each country will focus on one altar. And we were tasked with the destruction of the altar in America!' A soldier entered the chamber and made his way to the commander. Arrived, he handed the commander a map he then rolled up on the table. There the location of the altars were emblazoned in red. The commander posed his finger on America. There, everything was surrounded by clouds. As the commander went on he tapped that place:
'Sadly America didn't make it. The government, the military, we don't know the numbers, but the causalities are high, damn high. We assume the force must have stationed their main force there. Moreover, to enter the country one must pass through these clouds. We don't know what is in there, because everyone we sent there never returned. I have a question for you! Are you alone? Or are there more people like you who wish to support humanity?' Viewing the clouds around America, Seraphina nodded before giving her answer:
'As far as I know there are three more people on this planet who sided with the humans. One is my husband and the other two … well, sooner or later you will make acquaintance!'
'Only three persons?', a soldier repeated. He tilted his head back, scratching his hair. 'I doubt' ' –
'And I know', Seraphina cut in, 'that these three persons will be a much greater help than anyone here. Hm, at second thought, I should exclude you commander. The question now only is, how long will you be able to retain your sanity. Not only you! Everyone here who is part of the special force, you are all bound to turn to monster if you keep using that power!' Commander Nootra's gaze moved from soldier to soldier and lastly they locked on Nicole, only then the seriousness in his gaze subsided. Commander Nootra formed a fist and slammed it on the table.
'You are right! You are damn right! When the moment comes that one of my soldiers lose himself, I will take care of him and when I notice that I am changing, Nicole I want you to do it then! I realized that even if I lost control I will never hurt you. So when' –
'Stop that! How can you say something like that! I could, could never' – Commander Nootra packed her by her shoulders.
'Now is not the time to get emotional. When the moment comes I trust you to do it. And now to the others! I force no one to go to war with me. If you are afraid that you will turn into a ghouls or monster, if you feat the force we are about to confront, if you dread death, then stay here. I won't blame you! But if you want your children and the children of your children to keep living in this kind of world, one day maybe even be enslaved by these monsters, then also stay here!' Soldier after soldier grinned, they celebrated, raising the arms in the air and stomping their feet.
Meanwhile Seraphina had confronted Dean.
'Before we depart I will have a talk with you. The best ime would even be after this discussion!'
'Ok, mum?' Jessie was also emerged in a talk with Sark she was leading at the moment:
'Dean and Larah have Hope in America. I must deal with Nighyel and John! And you, Sark? Where will you go?'
'I will come with you. I have some people there. Would be nice to meet them again!'
In the air
Nade, Sarah and the others were approaching the city. In the far there was the airport, however, when the helicopter started slowing down and squeaking Rick concluded:
'We must land on the skyscraper there. This thing won't take us far Do I have your permission to land, Miss President?'
'You have it!' And so Rick landed on the roof of the skyscraper. Emilia was the first one lo exit the helicopter, her guns pointing forward.
'Everything clear!', she reported and the others stepped out. Emilia was before the group and Rick at the rear.
'Do you feel better now?', Sarah asked Nade.
'Yes, I do. However, I doubt it will stay long like that. We better hurry to the airport because this city smells of evil!'
Outside the city
Dae and the others had soon reached the city. They slowed down, not because there was a ghoul standing there, but a human, a brown-haired woman. She was sitting at the edge of the city, reading something. When she spotted Dae and the others, she rejoiced and beckoned them over with her hand.
'Everyone, even if she looks like a human, be on your guard!', Dae warned. They had close enough. And Dae pointed his gun at the woman. 'Who are you? What are you doing here? And why do you look fine?' Rayshel prodded his shoulders and so Dae corrected himself: 'Why can't I see any wounds on you?'
'Indeed, many questions!', the woman stated with a bright smile. But rest assured, you are safe now. I welcome you to Dafton City. All your questions will be answered when you meet our king!'
Somewhere in Dafton City
A man was sitting on a throne. His hair was long smooth and blonde with a golden touch to it. His skin was light and here and there giving of a yellow glow. He was tall, at least 2m and wore only a white crisp fabric around his waist, displaying his trained body. The most bizarre things on him were his eyes – gold and black! An angel!
The room was nearly dark though some light forced his way inside when the grand door opened and a women stepped in. She was wearing a white robe and as she walked towards the throne the door behind her closed.
'My king!', she uttered, bowing down. 'We will never forget the kindness you showed us! I will never forget it. I was sent here for your service! What may I do for you?'
'What did the people told you about serving me?'
'They said that everyone who served you will have a place in heaven! That's why I am really happy to be chosen!'
'Come, my child! Come!' The woman did as the man wanted and just when she was only some meters away from the man, from the king, she came to an abrupt halt. Her instincts told her to turn around and get out the fuck from there. Her believes told her to stay! She decided to trust her instincts but it was too late for when she turned around the king stood afore her. He tore off one of her arms and swallowed it whole. As the woman lapsed in a cry, dropping to her legs the kind strode past her towards his throne.
He snipped his finger and just then ghouls emerged out the shadows behind the throne. These ghouls were all white, wait for the king to say something and that something did come.
'I am done!' All the ghouls stormed the women who still had problems digesting everything and ate her whole, leaving nothing behind.
