Chapter 29 - Fight of the Sacred Waterfalls (3)

Spiren, a warrior who only wore white clothes. No one has ever seen him wearing anything other than white clothes.

Along with white bandages tied around both of his arms from his shoulders until reaching his hands, he was known for how he loved the color white.

He was also known as another title, different from the Sacred Slayer, but Parmas hasn't got his hands on it yet.

They both stood in front of each other, waiting for the other to initiate his first move. Although they just stood there waiting, still they were channeling their weapons with more and more with their power.

The more they waited, the more their blades became sharper, more resilient, and more fierce.

With a water droplet being scattered away from the waterfalls they stood in between, dropping in the center where they stood facing each other. That was the declaration of their first move. Both of them flashed and appeared and the middle with a clangor of steal.

Spiren, after the droplet had dropped, sheathed his sword at an unimaginable speed and rotated his body to the left, holding the sword with his right and the pommel with his left, and flashed his katana after dashing instantly.

Parmas... His stance was so complicated! His right hand which he held the dagger from the front, he bent his elbow to the extent that the dagger was now behind his back.

The other hand which held the dagger from behind, He just straightened his arm with an angle between it and his body, leaning it a bit behind.

When he struck the katana with his daggers, the bent elbow rushed with fierce speed and in an instant appeared in front of the katana. At the same time, the dagger which he held from the opposite side rushed to aid the other dagger but from below. True mastery of daggers indeed.

That powerful impact infused with mastery and their aura made a huge impact, causing them both to shudder and tremble a bit away from each other. Not to mention that all of that took only a second!

After that, countless slashes, deflects and war cries filled the whole region of the sacred waterfalls. Until...

"Mantis technique, first form: [Rending Fangs!]" Parmas switched the dagger he held from the front to the opposite side like the other and raised both of his arms facing the sky.

Although his arms were high above him, his daggers' tips were facing the Sacred Slayer who was staring at them, waiting to counter that fierce slash at the right time.

The stance that Parmas took was the very first attack of the so-called insect killer, the mantis.

"Spiren technique, one sword style: [absolute deflection!]" Both of the daggers dropped heavily on Spiren, aiming to pierce and stab him in the two shoulders. But that wasn't what Parmas wanted... only!

Parmas aimed at a specific point near his shoulders and that point was one of the weakest spots in the human body. Severing those parts means instant paralysis. That's why Spiren chose to deflect the attack rather than just defending.

Spiren deflected his unique form, making Parmas fall in utter shock and tremble backward.

"Spiren technique, one sword style: [Backstabber!]" Once Spiren successfully deflected the attack that was harrowing at his with terrifying speed, he instantly dashed and jumped high with a half front flip, turning his body upside down in the air.

"I must give to you, Mantis. It was fun." He uttered those words while... piercing his neck from behind, forcing his katana to go deeper into his flesh, and that resulted in the sword penetrating the other end of his neck by the throat.

"Khaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaa" Parmas coughed blood and groaned out of unimaginable pain while falling to the ground. The assassin has been assassinated!

In a second, Spiren rotated the other half of his flip and landed on his feet, stood up, and rotated his body, watching as the mantis was breathing his last breaths.

"You... Cough! Cough! Khaaaahaa... Y-You..." Parmas's lips stopped moving and his eyes became ghostly empty. Parmas is now dead, making the Victor of this fight go to his opponent, the Sacred Slayer.

"Farewell, Mantis."

Spiren sheathed his katana in the pommel that was also curved a bit, and walked on the pristine white rocks. He is leaving the battlefield. Suddenly, he heard clapping sounds from his right side and when he saw that figure, his spine felt a shiver running through it whole.

"Clap! Clap! That was perfect, really fascinating! White Blood!"

Spiren fell in utter shock after hearing that name or rather that title. He never expected the Mantis to ever know that tile of him!

"I suppose my copy played well with you. Hehe, White Blood." The one Spiren had killed was just a copy of the Mantis. The real one was sitting under the waterfalls, witnessing the whole fight from the very beginning.

"Your copy? Is that so." Spiren's eyes changed and had a white hue now, making his eyes shine with incandescent light and unsheathed his sword to attack and finish this once and for all.

"Sighs! You are such a dumbass, White Blood. I didn't know you were so weak like that." The Mantis licked his dagger which had... some blood dripping from it.

"Khaaaaahaaa." streams of blood rushed out of Spiren's mouth, his eyes widened out of shock. He didn't even see the Mantis move! That was the fastest attack or slash the White Blood had ever seen and soon it will be the last.

His body fell to the ground without any motion, but he wasn't dead yet. Spiren made his power shine with low brightness and tried to heal that slash on his torso that resembled the letter (X) without making the mantis realize what he was doing.

"Heal it, Hehehehehe. I don't mind. I think that scar will be good for you... When I bury you myself." Spiren tried to get on his feet as fast as he could but he couldn't stand completely and just sat on his knees.

***

"You... WILL PAY FOR THIS!"

"Hahahahahahahahahaha" As the Mantis was laughing as he was having fun humiliating the White Blood, he dashed with one dagger in his right hand, letting his arm loose as it rushed to slash the fallen warrior... Until!

Rattle! Rattle! Rattle!

The mantis stopped his attack at the last second. Perplexed, he shifted his gaze to the right side where the wooden house stood silently. The fallen Spiren stared at the house too.

The wooden door was slowly opening as its rattling sound appeared. A hand emerged from the darkness of the wooden house making both of the warriors eyes' widening.

That hand grabbed the side of the door with immense force, cracking it a bit. They stood in silence until the figure in the darkness broke their silence:

"Who... The fuck are you... to disturb my sleep?"
