Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Children of the Blacksmith

"Rinto-kun, you really don't have any skills? Do you at least know the basic Three Body Technique?"

Hearing this, Rinto shook his head.

"Teacher Daisora, I really don't know any ninjutsu."

"What about Chakra extraction?" Nakaguru Daisora still didn't give up.

Rinto shook his head again.

Nakaguru Daisora was momentarily stunned before he sighed. "It's okay. If you don't know it yet, you can learn. Luckily, you only skipped to the second grade, not the third. You still have time to catch up. Don't be discouraged."

After saying this, his expression grew serious. "Don't worry, Rinto-kun. As your teacher, I won't let you fall behind."

Hearing this, Rinto suddenly had a bad feeling.

Then, Nakaguru Daisora confirmed his fears.

"How about this, Rinto-kun? You'll stay two hours after school every day for individual tutoring. You can also use this time to train until you make up for the missed lessons."

Rinto was dumbfounded.

What do you mean? School ends at 3:30, and you want to keep me until 5:30?

Teacher, don't you need a personal life? Don't you want to go home to your wife?

Even if you don't, I do!

I have to work as a blacksmith at Uncle Ippongi's shop!

I have to support myself and Rie!

Oh, crap!

Rinto felt his scalp tingle, thinking about all the time wasted at the ninja school every day.

"Um… Teacher, can I discuss something with you?"

"Go ahead."

"Mr. Daisora, can I skip the practical class and use this time to study? After all, this class is just sparring, and it seems kind of boring."

Hearing that Rinto didn't want to take practical lessons, Nakaguru Daisora immediately frowned.

Does this kid think a ninja school is a place to train secretaries? Even medical ninjas have to take practical classes!

He was about to refuse when an arrogant voice interrupted.

"New guy?"

"Hah! You sure talk big. You look like a clown trying to get attention!"

Rinto ignored the taunts and still looked at Nakaguru Daisora with hopeful eyes.

Nakaguru Daisora frowned and turned toward the speaker. Seeing who it was, his frown deepened.

Uchiha Ryota. A top student in the class. While his grades were excellent, his Uchiha arrogance was irritating.

Seeing that Rinto was completely ignoring him, Ryota felt humiliated.

Children his age crave recognition and hate being disregarded.

Even though Nakaguru Daisora was right there, Ryota wasn't afraid.

His uncle was Uchiha Kagami, the Hokage's direct disciple!

Rinto didn't know about Ryota's connection to Uchiha Kagami, but even if he did, he wouldn't care.

Although he was an undercover agent, the only real strategist in Konoha was the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama.

It's not that Rinto looked down on Konoha's leadership, but people who rely too much on power often lack strategy.

Just like Black Zetsu—he wasn't strong, yet he manipulated events for centuries. It was all about using his brain.

So Rinto didn't think much of Konoha's bloodline elites.

On the contrary, he respected Senju Tobirama, the tragic Uchiha Itachi, and the Sixth Hokage, Kakashi.

Ryota was furious, his face twisting in anger.

"Teacher Daisora, let me fight him! Let's see how strong he really is!"

Nakaguru Daisora felt a headache coming on.

It wasn't that he was angry at Ryota's words. He was just tired of the Uchiha clan's arrogance.

They were either cold and emotionless or outright arrogant like Ryota.

The commotion on the playground quickly drew attention.

Students stopped their activities and gathered around.

Some were Ryota's little fans. The Uchiha name always attracted followers.

However, because of the teacher's presence, they didn't dare to cheer too loudly.

Still, they glared at Rinto as if he had committed some great offense.

With his support growing, Ryota grew bolder and smirked at Rinto.

"New guy, I'll give you a hand."

He folded one hand behind his back, earning cheers from his fans.

Rinto remained still.

He didn't want to deal with this guy. He felt that even acknowledging him would lower his IQ.

After all, someone like Naruto in the future would always drag his opponents down to his level before defeating them with experience.

Seeing Rinto completely ignoring him, Ryota snapped.

"You asked for it, kid!"

He shoved Rinto from behind.

Rinto staggered forward, unable to react in time.

Ryota smirked, satisfied.

That's what you get for acting tough! Let's see you try to show off now!

Nakaguru Daisora hadn't expected Ryota to be so bold as to attack in front of him.

However, this might be a good lesson for Rinto. He wouldn't be able to keep skipping practical lessons now.

A white-haired boy lying on the ground saw what happened. He got up, covered in dust, ready to help Rinto without hesitation.

But before Rinto could fall—

"Boom!"

A deafening noise erupted as Rinto's right foot hit the ground.

A crater three meters wide, covered in cracks, formed beneath him. Wind pressure and dust exploded outward.

The crowd froze.

Ryota stood behind Rinto, arms crossed, smug—until he saw the destruction.

Sweat poured down his face, mixing with the dust.

"M-Monster!"

A chubby boy in the crowd pointed at Rinto and screamed.

Students gulped in unison.

A blonde girl with a high ponytail stared at the cracked ground, wiping sweat from her forehead.

This guy is terrifying!

Even the Senju clan, known for their raw strength, didn't have anyone Rinto's age with this kind of power.

And he didn't even use a stance or momentum—just a casual step forward!

Nakaguru Daisora was just as shocked.

The playground's ground wasn't ordinary dirt. It was compressed loess, hardened for ninja combat.

Even sixth-year students, skilled in ninjutsu and taijutsu, couldn't do this kind of damage.

To put it bluntly, even Nakaguru Daisora's strongest jutsu could only cause this much destruction.

The white-haired boy sat on the ground, wide-eyed. "Wow… so cool!"

Rinto slowly stood up.

Seeing this, Nakaguru Daisora immediately positioned himself in front of Ryota, who was shaking in fear.

A push between children was one thing, but with Rinto's strength, one hit could kill.

Two ninjas quickly reacted—one stepped between Rinto and Ryota, while the other pulled Ryota back.

Rinto looked at the ground expressionlessly, then turned to Nakaguru Daisora.

The teacher felt like he was being stared down by a beast. Cold sweat covered his back.

Rinto's face suddenly twisted into an awkward grin.

"Teacher Daisora, uh… I'm a blacksmith, so it's normal for me to be a little strong."

Then, he added seriously, "By the way, I don't have to pay for this damage, right?"

Everyone fell to the ground.

What kind of monster thinks about money at a time like this?

Only the white-haired kid stood up and clapped Rinto's shoulder.

"Of course not! Ryota pushed you, so he should pay!"

Rinto's eyes lit up and he hugged the dirty white-haired kid.

"Brother, you are the only one here with a sense of justice!"

The kid laughed. "Of course!"

"Brother, what's your name?" Rinto asked.

The kid jumped back, posed dramatically, and grinned.

"Yo! I am Master Jiraiya!"
