Southwest of the Agravar Empire, the Kingdom of Lindell…
The castle was surrounded by flower fields filled with magic. Fairies flew between the flowers, playing within nature's warm embrace, and the castle was filled with joy as the kingdom welcomed the birth of its new princess. The servants were scrambling outside of the empress's room, waiting for the princess to be born. And suddenly, a man entered the room. "How is the empress?" the man asked the mage, inside the room. His attire was adorned with armor as if he'd be ready to go to war this instant. Indeed, he is the emperor of the kingdom.
"The empress is still stabilising, her power is still unstable," the mage said.
"I know that to be the case. Here are some of the magic cores taken from the great beast. Use this, it would prove to be useful in some cases," said the emperor, handing the mage something that would appear to be a heart made from crystal. The heart emitted a powerful aura filled with so much vitality.
"This?" the mage answered, a bit shocked, yet he took the heart from the emperor. A heart like this could cure even the gravest of injuries, and yet getting it was almost impossible; the power that came with such vitality belonged to a monster that spoke death as its language. Yet the emperor before him was willing to go to such an extent—indeed, love is the greatest of all powers.
"Be at peace, my king, these mages and doctors here will never let you down," the mage said, perhaps trying to calm the king's anxiety.
"Tend to the king, some of you. His majesty's wound needs to be mended," the mage added while directing some of the doctors inside the room to escort the king out of the room.
And after a while, sudden cries were heard from the empress's room, "Waaah, Waaah." A gentle cry—the voice was beautiful, and so was the newborn's face. The princess of Lindell had finally been born.
As the cries were heard, the emperor rushed into the empress's room.
"Our daughter, Aethan," the empress spoke, her voice still sounding weak, exhausted by the princess's birth.
"Beautiful like dawn, just like you, Aurora," the king spoke while holding the newborn princess in his arms.
"What name shall this one carry?" the empress said.
"Arya," the empress answered, "that he should be as strong as you and as delicate as I am," said the empress.
"Then, as the world is our witness, from this moment on, our daughter's name shall be Arya," said the emperor while smiling.
As soon as the word was muttered from the emperor's mouth, spirits came in waves, greeting the princess. They materialized in the empress's room. Such spirits came with different colors, and they shone so brightly that the room itself looked as if it were filled with rainbows, almost like fireflies flying into the night.
"Looks like even they are celebrating this one's birth," the empress spoke, her face showing a smile, a peaceful smile.
"Indeed, it seems this one is loved by them," the empress said while looking at the spirit above.
"What a grateful being you all were to welcome our little one with such a show," the emperor said, perhaps thanking all of the spirits.
Not only did the human celebrate her birth, but the spirit itself rejoiced in her birth,, and soon across the empire, all their light was seen. The sick were cured of all their illnesses, the crops grew a thousand times faster, their harvest became more abundant, and all within a day. And the people of the kingdom celebrated her birth even more, so much so that they decided to hold their own festival for her.
"Blessed are we to be given new life to our continent," one of them said, just after the empire welcomed the prince,, their own kingdom welcomed their princess. Such things were seen as gifts bestowed upon their land. The prince's birth brought the people of the empire happiness, and the princess's birth brought their kingdom an abundance of food.
"Indeed, we are," said one of them while watching the grand show the spirit had given them.
In the Emperor's study room in the Agravar Empire…
Darius looked at the world outside. He sensed something different in it, as if some of its vitality had suddenly risen. The spirit around him also appeared to be very happy, more so than usual. There can be only two reasons for this: either it is celebrating the death of some vile human, or it is celebrating the birth of a new one. But to be celebrated by the spirit itself, one must be loved by it, and that love is not easily given.
Could this be the birth of a new elementalist? Darius pondered. Elementalists were a rare breed of humans who were born with the ability to wield the spirit. Such a thing is rare in current eras, maybe because of how the world has been for the last 100 years. Some begin to believe that the spirit king himself had abandoned the nature he swore to protect long ago; after all, how could he protect something that doesn't exist?
Yet, nature has begun to be alive once more during the past few years. The empire had seen it rebuild again slowly but surely. Notably, the most nature-abundant kingdom would be Lindell. It has not been touched by the war, and the empire also does not have any wish for Lindell to be one of its states.
I had been friends with them since this throne was mine, they proved to be quite great allies in supporting the "Cleaning," thought the emperor while remembering the Lindell king. A gentle man he was, and yet the sole reason Lindell hasn't been attacked by another kingdom during those bloody wars is that there were powerful mages there, obviously not to the empire's might, yet indeed they're powerful. Their king knows not to surrender but to fight with all his might.
Before Darius could think about it, a knock interrupted his thoughts.
"Enter," Darius said, his voice low.
A royal courier stepped in, his head bowed before him, and in his hand was a scroll, a message perhaps. The seal... it was a scroll from the kingdom of Lindell.
"A message from Lindell, Your Majesty. The princess has been born," the royal courier said while still bowing his head.
"You need not bow anymore, thank you for your work, you may leave the studies," the emperor thanked the royal courier before instructing him to walk out of the room.
Darius took the scroll, reading silently. His expression softened; indeed, the scroll had proved his feeling earlier, an elementalist had been born!
"Arya…" he murmured. "Aethan, you son of a bitch, so, you've named her already."
"What a coincidence that the birth date is not even that far from my own child's. Could this perhaps be an arrangement from beyond? Hrmmm, who may know?" the emperor said while lying his back on the wooden chair.
Thus, the emperor turned his gaze through the window outside before murmuring,
"I can't help but wonder what the future might have for our young ones. You must feel the same, Aethan," said the emperor, looking at a bird sitting on a tree branch in the distance.
