Chapter 18 - Chapter-18 Win or Lose

Yuri's POV

What I know about girls is that they don't like or are afraid of guys fighting. But this girl looks like she's enjoying what she's seeing. She's even slapping the table.

"GO LEFT!" She shouted.

Go left? What kind of word is that? Her mouth is so loud. So annoying! My ears hurt!

"DON'T LOSE! WHAT THE HELL?!"

What the… She's worse than a boxer's trainer.

"HEY! DON'T—AHHH! GET UP!"

Fvck! I was too busy observing her that I lost focus on the fight. David's down and can't get up. The side of his eye is bleeding.

Keifer is still standing but struggling to breathe. The side of his lip is turning black.

"DAVID!! GET UP—"

"SHUT UP!!" I shouted.

She glared at me. Her mouth is so damn loud. It overpowers all the noise from everyone else.

I nodded at Kit—a signal to end the fight.

He climbed onto one of the tables again. "Start the countdown! 10, 9, 8, 7…"

The whole class counted along.

"…6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! David is down! Keifer wins!"

It's official. Keifer now has control over the whole Section E. He can do whatever he wants.

Jay-jay's POV

DAMN IT! I'm pissed! Why did that Keifer guy win? There was definitely cheating involved!

"I'm sure that Keifer guy cheated," I said while cleaning David's wound.

No one even bothered to help him. His supporters are all traitors. They all switched to Keifer's side after he won.

After the fight, everyone left. They said they were going to celebrate! No one stayed with David, so I volunteered to help him.

"You don't have to do this," he said, weakly trying to push my hand away.

It was obvious he had no strength left, so he couldn't really do anything.

"You should've been the winner…" I said.

"Argh!" He groaned. I accidentally pressed on the side of his eye too hard.

"Sorry…" I said and continued what I was doing.

I took the alcohol from my bag and poured some on the cloth I was holding.

"W-wait… T-that's gonna hurt."

"It won't."

I dabbed the cloth on his face, and he jolted like he got electrocuted.

"Aw… Fvck!" He screamed.

"What a drama queen! You didn't even react like this when you got punched!"

"That was different… Ouch!"

"It's the same thing!"

I tried to press the cloth on his face again. Even with no strength, he still kept pushing my hand away and covering his face.

"You're so stubborn…"

"Just leave it… It'll heal even without alcohol."

Pfffttt… Just say you're scared of alcohol.

"Suit yourself…" I said and put the cloth down.

He closed his eyes for a moment, like he was processing everything. I know that losing a fight is a blow to a guy's ego. Maybe he was hurt by what happened.

But he did his best. Keifer was just stronger—or maybe he really did cheat.

"Can I ask a favor?" He suddenly said.

"What is it?"

"Can you help me change?" He asked as he slowly stood up.

I grabbed his tank top and helped him put it on. Even though I was being careful, he still winced in pain because of his injuries.

Then, I helped him put on his polo shirt. After that, he tried to walk out of the room. I followed him to assist him, but he pushed me away.

He had a point. If I helped him, the little dignity he had left would disappear. So I let him be and just walked behind him.

It was already getting dark, and there were barely any students left in school. That was good—less people would see him like this. I waited until he got into a taxi before heading home. Since it was already dark, and Aries the jerk was obviously nowhere to be found, I just waited as well.

I got home safely. My older brother wasn't there, which explains why Aries had the guts to leave me behind.

I was so exhausted that I fell asleep immediately without even eating dinner.

The next day…

David didn't come to school. He's probably still resting.

But Keifer? That jerk was in high spirits. He was even smiling! I swear, I could kill you right now!

We had a two-hour vacant period. The teachers were in a meeting. So here I was, just zoning out into nothingness.

Keifer suddenly sat on the bench in front of me. He was facing me and smiling.

"Do you need something?" I asked him coldly.

"Why didn't you join our celebration yesterday?" he asked.

Was he trying to provoke me? Isn't it obvious that my bet lost, and I have no intention of switching sides?

"I just didn't want to..."

He nodded. "Too bad… You didn't see how we partied. Ci-N drank so much, and we—"

"You made Ci-N drink?!" I asked in disbelief.

"Yeah… why?"

"Why? WHY?! he might only be 14, and you let him drink?!"

Unbelievable!

"Tss. So? I was 10 when I had my first drink."

I glared at him. "That was you! Not him! Don't compare him to yourself!"

I glanced at Ci-N in his seat. He had his head down since earlier and looked like he still had a hangover.

"There's no difference between me and Ci-N, so it's fine—Hey, where are you going?"

I walked away quickly from that annoying pest Keifer. He was really testing my patience! Ci-N is too young to be drinking. Even I was already 16 when I first tasted alcohol, and I was forced into it—I needed a lot of courage at that time.

I went straight to the nearest restroom. I needed to wash my face to cool down. Otherwise, my blood might start boiling because of that guy.

There was no one inside the restroom, so I had it all to myself. Perfect for a dramatic moment—just kidding! Are there ghosts in here?

I washed my face just like I wanted. I splashed water on my face multiple times. It was so cold, and it felt refreshing.

Can I take a bath here? I wiped my face with a tissue and entered a cubicle. I had to relieve myself before I got an infection.

I was quietly peeing when suddenly, a group of girls entered the restroom. They were noisy and laughing.

"Does this look good on me?" asked one girl, who sounded super annoying because of her voice.

"Yeah… but it would look better if you weren't wearing it. Hahaha," another girl replied, who seemed even more annoying than the first.

"Mica! Why are you so quiet?" one of them asked.

Mica?

"Nothing—"

"Because Calix approached her."

"Again?!"

I kept listening to them. I didn't want to step out yet—I had a bad feeling about this. If anything, they might pick on me.

"Girls! Have you seen Jay-jay? The transferee?" one of them suddenly asked.

Good thing I didn't leave the cubicle yet. Now I get to hear gossip about myself.

"Yeah… Turns out she's not that pretty, unlike how Kiko described her."

Me? Not pretty? Excuse me!!

"Watch your words… She's still Aries' cousin."

Yeah… Watch your words!

"Don't call him 'Papa'… Remember, he's with Ella now."

Ella? Why does that name sound familiar—

"That flirt Ella! She flirts with every famous guy in our school! Even Keifer from Section E."

Holy cow carabao! Could it be that Aries is the—

"I also heard she tried flirting with Yuri."

Damn! The gossip I'm hearing right now is insane.

"Jay-jay isn't any different from her. I heard she bribes Section E with food and is always sticking to Ci-N. Such a flirt!"

What the… How did I become a flirt?! Explain that to me, you idiots!

"Not only is she not pretty, but she's also a flirt!"

Okay! That's it!

I fixed myself and flushed the toilet. I could feel their silence and anticipation, waiting to see who would step out of the cubicle.

I walked out like I hadn't heard a thing. I washed my hands and looked at my reflection in the mirror—but then I ended up looking at them. There were four of them in total.

Their faces looked like coloring books—covered in makeup, caked in foundation, and lips as red as tomatoes, except for one. She seemed like the odd one out. She must be the 'quack-quack' girl.

They stared at my reflection, clearly waiting for me to say or do something.

While they were busy admiring my beauty, I was already gathering water in my hands.

"Who was it again that said I'm not pretty?" I asked them.

No one answered. So I immediately threw the water at them.

"AAARRRGGHH!!!..."

They screamed loudly, confused about what to do first.

I took my chance and ran out of the restroom.

"HEY! COME BACK HERE!" one of them yelled.

What do you think I am, stupid?! Why would I go back?!

I was about to turn to quickly head back to our building, but I stopped. Aries and his classmates were there, hanging out and laughing.

"Jay…" Kiko called out to me.

Sorry. I can't greet you right now!

"HEY! YOU WITCH!" one of the girls screamed.

I kept running. I'd take a different route to get away from them. I ran through another year level's building, but they were still following me.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!" they yelled.

I finally reached our building and sprinted toward our classroom. Some of my classmates were surprised when I barged in. I immediately ducked my head on my desk.

Please don't find me. But it looked like that was useless.

"WHERE IS SHE?!" one of the girls angrily shouted.

"Who?" asked one of my useless classmates.

Don't point at me! You idiot!

"Jay-jay! Bring her out!"

"Why?"

"She did something to us!"

"There she is! She's hiding her face."

Damn it! What a helpful classmate I have! If I ever find out who you are, you're dead!

I sat up properly and looked at the door where the girls who chased me were standing. My classmate who pointed at me was there too. Kit!

The girls were glaring at me. I could smell trouble.

You're screwed, Jay!
