Jay-jay's POV
"You really didn't see it?" I asked the maid again.
"No, Miss Jay. I'm really sorry." She replied before stepping out of my room.
I had been searching for my Batman vs. Superman T-shirt for a while now. I bought it a long time ago, and since I valued it so much, I only wore it once in a blue moon.
I had already taken out everything from my closet, but it was still nowhere to be found. I was really looking forward to flaunting it today, especially since Aries' group was in the living room again.
I had no idea what kind of monkey business they were up to this time, but Kiko Me'crush wasn't there.
Me'crush, huh! Not "Loves" anymore!
And I had no plans of stepping out of my room unless I was wearing my Batman vs. Superman T-shirt. They laughed at my ridiculous floral outfit earlier when they saw me.
That's why I needed to show off.
While rummaging through my closet, I spotted a familiar pair of short shorts. They used to be my favorite, so I got excited to check them out.
They were denim shorts, designed to be breathable and comfortable, which was why they became my favorite. I faced the mirror and held them in front of me, inspecting them. They looked smaller now.
I decided to try them on, and I was right. They were way too small for me now, looking more like cycling shorts because of how short they had become.
"Miss Jay…" one of the maids called out. "Someone's looking for you downstairs. They said they're your classmate. They also asked you to hurry because they don't like waiting."
I had a feeling I knew who it was. Impatient, probably that jerk Keifer again. The maid left, so I followed after her. I didn't bother changing out of the shorts.
I felt sexy in them!
I stopped at the living room when I saw that Aries' entire group was there. Kiko and that witch Freya were with them.
"Hey! You're going out dressed like that?!" Aries asked irritably.
I looked down at myself. There was nothing wrong… except for my short shorts.
But I looked sexy in them!
"There's nothing wrong—"
"Your outfit is too short! Go change!" he ordered.
I stuck my tongue out at him and quickly walked away. He could say whatever he wanted—I felt sexy in these shorts!
Once I stepped outside, I realized Keifer wasn't the only one waiting for me.
"Witwiw!" Kit whistled as soon as he saw me.
The others immediately turned their heads in my direction. Keifer raised an eyebrow, while Eman looked completely lost on how to react.
"Sexy!" Ci-N called out, laughing.
"Your legs are so white!" Eren added.
I started feeling embarrassed. They were all staring at my legs. My sexiness was too much!
"W-why are you all here?" I asked.
"We're going to buy supplies. You said you'd help me," Eman reminded me.
"Oh, right…" I turned to Ci-N. "…But why are they coming too?"
"We wanted to tag along," Kit said.
My eyes landed on Keifer. He looked inexplicably irritated as he stared at my legs.
"Okay… I'll just change." I excused myself, but they stopped me.
"Just go like that!" Ci-N insisted before forcing me into the car.
They were using a Toyota Hiace. It looked like Eman's since he had the keys.
"W-wait… I haven't asked for permission yet!" I protested.
They ignored me and got inside. I was seated between Keifer on my left and Ci-N on my right. Kit was in the passenger seat, and Eren had the back row to himself.
Keifer's expression was unreadable. I was starting to feel a little scared of him.
We headed straight to the mall. That was when my embarrassment over my outfit finally hit me. Aside from my short shorts, my floral blouse was a bit too thin.
Why did I wear a blouse?!
When we arrived, the three others ran ahead, still teasing each other. Eman walked beside me, while Keifer trailed behind.
"Let's go to the department store," Keifer said.
Eman didn't argue, so we headed there first. The three ahead of us had already disappeared from view.
I thought we were going straight to the kitchenware section, but out of nowhere, Keifer grabbed my arm and dragged me toward the women's clothing section.
"W-what are we doing here?" I asked.
Eman was gone. It seemed like we had gotten separated.
"You're getting new clothes."
"I don't have money. And I have plenty of clothes at home."
"Then why the hell did you choose to wear that?!" he snapped.
People around us immediately turned their heads. This jerk was so loud!
This is homewear! That's why I said I was going to change!"
His eyebrows furrowed. "You wear that in front of Aries? And that idiot didn't even do anything?!"
Wow, calling him an idiot like that!
"Hey! He's still my cousin!"
"I know you had guests, and he still let you wear that in front of them?!"
"I-it's not like that… I just happened to wear it again today."
"If that's what you're planning to wear, you might as well not wear anything at all!"
He scolded me angrily.
Irritated, I noticed people around us whispering.
"So protective, huh?"
"Jealous boyfriend?"
"My boyfriend's the same way when I wear short clothes."
I wanted to scream and tell them that this jerk wasn't my boyfriend!
Never mind! Not worth the effort!
Keifer quickly walked around, grabbing random clothes. When he returned, he shoved them into my hands and pushed me toward the fitting room.
"You're so pushy!" I shouted, catching other people's attention.
"Choose one and wear it immediately!" he ordered.
Honestly, I was getting really annoyed with him. So bossy! Freak! Out of everything he grabbed, I ended up picking ripped jeans and a t-shirt.
"Happy now?!" I asked sarcastically when I stepped out of the fitting room.
"If you ever wear that again, I'll rip it apart while you're wearing it."
Rip it apart?! This snake king was unbelievable! He said the same thing when we were fighting in the clinic. What is it with this guy and tearing clothes?!
He went straight to the cashier and paid for what I was wearing. They also wrapped up the clothes I changed out of.
We found Eman standing near the appliances section. He looked like he had been trying to call us because he lowered his phone when he saw us.
"New outfit?" he asked me.
"Yeah, because of him!" I said, pointing at Keifer, who walked ahead.
We picked out kitchen supplies—pots, pans, ladles, and all sorts of things.
We also discussed whether to get a mini fridge, but Eman said we'd need to ask all of Section E first. He also planned to replace the rice cooker in the room because it was too small.
After the department store, we headed to the grocery store. Ci-N and the others were already there, messing around and riding in a pushcart.
"Get down from there, Ci!" I scolded him.
He got down and eyed me from head to toe. "Changed outfit?"
I didn't answer. Eman seemed to be in a hurry, so we quickly followed him.
"Jay, you and Keifer head to the dry goods section," Eman instructed.
We went there and picked out canned goods.
"By the way, what about my debt to you?" I asked Keifer while browsing items.
"Then keep packing my lunch, or better yet, cook all my meals."
What a hassle! So he wants separate meals from everyone else? So picky!
Keifer's phone rang briefly. He answered it, leaving me to keep picking out groceries.
Suddenly, something bumped into my cart.
I waited for an apology, but the person remained silent. So I turned to look.
Whoa!
It was Blue Eyes Guy! He was smirking and looking at me. I raised an eyebrow. Even here?!
"Hey..." he greeted.
"Hey..." I replied, making him chuckle.
"Small world," he said.
"Oh yeah? How small?" I quipped.
"Small enough to bump into your cart."
I looked at the aisle. There was more than enough space for three carts!
"Really now?" I said.
I pushed my cart forward and continued browsing, but I noticed he was following me.
"Is that guy your boyfriend?" he asked.
"Who?"
"The guy with the phone over there." He gestured toward Keifer, who was still on his call.
"No way! I just picked him up off the streets!" I joked.
"So that means I can court you?"
"No." I answered immediately.
"Why not?"
"Because I don't even know you." I clarified.
He laughed, glancing over at Keifer.
"You say you just picked him up, yet you came with him?" he asked.
Oh wow, is he slow?
Did he really believe I just randomly picked up Keifer? Unbelievable!
"Are you high? Obviously, that was a joke."
"Hahahaha… I know, I was just messing with you too."
I glanced at Keifer, who was still on his call.
When I turned back to Blue Eyes Guy, he was already holding his phone.
"Tsk! Bad news, I have to go." he said.
"Great news for me!" I said, clapping my hands together.
He just laughed and walked away. Just as he left, Keifer approached me.
"Eman's looking for us," he said, pushing the cart forward.
We all met up at the cashier. While waiting in line, Eman explained that he'd handle all the supplies for now and that we needed to go in early tomorrow to organize the room.
We also had to clean up—remove the boxes and old roofing sheets at the back.
Once everything was packed up, Eman continued explaining in the car. He also said we needed to start collecting payments from Section E. Can't let them get too used to freebies!
I was the first to be dropped off. As soon as I entered the gate, Aries was there to greet me.
"Where's the outfit you were wearing earlier?" he asked.
I handed him the paper bag. I thought he was just going to look at it, but to my shock, he pulled out a lighter and set my shorts on fire right in front of me.
"W-why?!"
My poor shorts!
"So you won't wear them again." Aries said, watching them turn to ashes.
What the hell?! Maybe Keifer and Aries are actually related. They both got mad over my shorts for no reason!
Rest in peace, dear shorts.
