Jay-jay's POV
I had been dancing for a while now, and I had noticed it for a while too. I was starting to get suspicious!
I knew someone behind me was dancing, but what I didn't understand was why he still had his hands on my waist. I tried to move away, but I was shocked when he pulled me closer and whispered.
"You move too much when you dance," he said softly, sending shivers down my spine. "...You bumped into my dance partner," he added.
I was about to pull away when he suddenly spun me around to face him. That's when I finally got a good look at who he was.
I knew it. It was KEIFER, the flirty one. He was now hugging my waist. I couldn't move, and I felt like I had turned into a statue again.
"W-where's your dance partner?" I asked, trying to change the subject.
"You bumped into her, so she left," he replied.
I looked around for the girl and saw her sitting on a sofa, glaring at me.
Oh no! I didn't mean to bump into her!
I tried to move away from Keifer again, and this time I managed to.
"Go call your dance partner," I told him.
"Don't you want to dance with me?" he teased.
I rolled my eyes at him. This guy really thinks he's something.
"No way! I don't want to embarrass myself in front of your dance partner!" I said, annoyed.
The idiot laughed and came closer, grabbing my hands and dancing me around like a child.
We looked ridiculous, but it was fine. It was the dance floor — everyone had their own dance moves.
Honestly, I was starting to laugh at what he was doing. It was like he thought I didn't know how to dance and needed his help.
"Stop it already... We look like fools," I said, but Keifer didn't stop.
"I don't want to... I'm still dancing with you."
"Tsk! Keifer..."
"If I stop... will you dance with me properly?" he asked mischievously.
There was probably no harm in it, and besides, we were already here. I might as well humor him before he throws a tantrum.
"Fine!" I answered, and he finally let me go.
We went back to dancing, and I started giving it my all again. I didn't care who I bumped into. I was singing along with the music, feeling like I was the only one on the dance floor.
Then I felt hands on my waist again. I looked and saw it was Keifer. I let him be — maybe he was just trying to keep up with my dancing.
We kept dancing until Keifer spun me around again to face him, his hands still on my waist like earlier.
"Do you always move this much when you dance?" he asked, laughing.
"Depends on the music."
"Tss," he said with a smile.
Wait! That was the first time he said that with a smile. He's usually always mad or annoyed with me.
Should I make him say it again so I can record it? This is a rare opportunity.
He was still holding my waist, looking right at me. I looked away — it felt weird. It was making me nervous! Suddenly, the music changed to a slow song.
I was about to step back from Keifer, but I felt how close his face was to mine. I could feel his warm breath, but it was oddly comforting.
"Care to continue dancing?" he asked softly.
N-no! I didn't want to!
I hated slow dances like this. I wasn't ready for something like this.
When I didn't answer or move, Keifer let go of my waist and took my hands, placing them around his neck.
I looked up at him. "K-Keifer..."
"We're already here... let's make the most of it," he whispered.
He wrapped his arms around my waist again and started to sway, so I followed his lead.
I couldn't look into his eyes. I was scared. Scared that if I looked, I wouldn't be able to look away.
So I kept my head down, listening to the music. I'd never heard this song before, but it was really hitting me. Keifer rested his head gently against mine, and I was startled — but I couldn't deny how good it felt.
Without meaning to, my arms tightened around his neck, and I rested my head on his shoulder. He smelled so good. I caught a hint of cigarettes, but the scent of his skin overpowered it.
I was afraid to let go. I didn't want the song to end. If only I could stop time and stay like this before Keifer went back to being his usual annoying self.
When the song ended, Keifer started singing along softly to the next one, making my heart race even more.
I was terrified of letting him know how I felt. Afraid that if he knew my past, he'd leave. Afraid that he might like someone else. Afraid that he might actually like me back. But most of all, I was scared of getting rejected.
My heart pounded so hard I thought he'd hear it. I tried to step back, but Keifer suddenly cupped the back of my neck and pulled me closer.
The sound of my heartbeat was deafening.
And then he kissed me.
I was afraid to tell him. I was afraid that he would find out about my past. I was afraid that Yuri might like me too and what happened to them would happen again. I was afraid that he might like me too. But I was more afraid that I might be rejected.
My heart was beating faster and faster. I didn't want him to hear that, so I moved away slightly, but I was shocked when he suddenly grabbed the back of my neck and pushed me closer to him.
It was deafening!
Not the music, but the beating of my heart. He was the only one who could do this to me. And he was the only one who kissed me, shaking my entire being.
I tried to resist, not wanting him to catch my feelings for him. But that only made him kiss me deeper. He slowly moved his lips. It was as if my lips had a mind of their own and moved with his. His kiss today was not the same as what Keifer had done to me in P.E. There was something different.
He pulled away slightly, so I took the opportunity to catch my breath. I wanted him to speak, I wanted him to tell me what he meant by what he did. But he remained silent.
"Eewww... Kuya, why did you kiss that girl?"
The voice of a child snapped us both back to reality. We quickly stepped away from each other, looking in opposite directions.
I saw Keifer's younger sibling, Keiren, looking at me with a mischievous grin. Oh no! I'd forgotten he was with us — of course, he'd see what we did.
"Let's go home, Kuya," Keiren said.
"Y-yeah... L-let's go home," Keifer answered awkwardly.
The awkwardness between us was so thick you could cut it with a knife. I couldn't even look at Keifer.
"W-we'll head home too," I said quickly, dragging my friend Ci-N toward the exit.
"I saw that..." Ci-N teased in a whisper.
I glared at her. So annoying!
We walked out just as Keifer and his siblings did. Our eyes met, but I quickly looked away, motioning for them to go ahead.
"Y-you guys go first," I said.
"N-no... Y-you go ahead," Keifer replied.
We kept awkwardly insisting until Keiren and Ci-N just walked out first, clearly annoyed by our nonsense.
Later, Keifer offered to drive us home. I wanted to refuse, but Ci-N immediately agreed.
When we reached my house, Keifer finally broke the silence.
"J-jay... we're here," he said.
I knew that! Don't you have anything else to say?
"Ah... y-yeah. T-thanks for the ride," I said, opening the car door when I thought I heard him whisper something.
"Huh? What did you say?"
"Huh?" he asked back.
"I thought you said something."
"N-no..."
I just nodded and opened the door completely to go out. As I closed it, Keifer suddenly came out and looked at me.
"G-goodnight..." He said.
Did you just come down to say goodnight?!
"Goodnight too." I turned to him.
I walked into the gate. When I opened it, I was surprised when someone grabbed my arm and turned me to face him.
No! Why again?!
"W-what... Y-because..." Keifer said.
Tell me...
"Is there a problem?" I asked.
Suddenly, he quickly kissed me on the forehead and ran back to his car. He immediately drove away.
I was left looking stupid and confused.
Pvta! It's strange to be so excited!
