The next day,Steve woke up and found out he was still on the bed with the same position as when he fainted the previous day.He expected to feel pain as he had overdone himself the previous day but to his surprise,he actually felt normal and even better if he wasn't kidding.
He got out of bed and performed some exercises which made him thoroughly confirm that he had healed and also improved.His bodily movements had become more flexible and his spirituality sure became much stronger.Even what was most unexpected was his skin which seemed to be literally glittering,of course only on a suboptimal level.
He stood at the window and thought about all what had happened recently.Breaking through from level 6 to level 9 of the body metamorphosis technique was considered quite an achievement for him.He knew he was still a bug in the stars across human occupied space and even other racial cultivators as a whole but he still rejoiced.
He always made sure to maintain a great balance between confidence and rationality as this was the best mindset that cultivators who were beginning their cultivation session had to have.He dropped all thoughts and wanted to freshen up but he was immediately denied by a large audible growl for his stomach.
This made him check the time which surprised him.The previous cultivation session had lasted a whole week which was quite long.He had thoughts about how long it would last was more than ordinary but who knew this would happen.
He immediately ran towards the kitchen to see if he could get something to satisfy his immediate hunger.On the way,he thought of something that made him confused again.
Why hadn't his parents come to his help when he screamed.Or were they not home when he screamed as his shouts were sure to travel to all parts of the house,had something unexpected during his cultivation period.
This made him search the entire house only to find out nobody was home.He tried communicating with them through his quantum watch but his fathers line wasn't reaching so he stopped and contacted his mother.He didn't bother his fathers line as he was most likely doing his work thus he didn't stop and went on.To his relief,his mother answered and told him she was also spending time with Daniel's mother at Daniel's home.
She told him where his food was kept and without having much to say,Steve directly ended the call.He went to where the food was and began to eat at that same place as he couldn't wait any further.After eating his fill of food,he felt energised but was stuck when he thought of what to do next.
He normally lived a well planned life with cultivation occupying the most of it.But since he had just exited cultivation with more than satisfying gains this time,he decided to spend this week without any concerns.He went to the living room and turned on the TV which to be frank,felt awkward to him.He really didn't spend much time watching TV and stuff like other children before he started cultivation as cultivation started at the age of 9.
He changed the channel to a news broadcasting one where he saw mechs in large squadrons fighting on the frontlines though blurry.This was expected as letting children watch the real bloody scenes that occurred on the war fronts were sure to affect the children as they were in their rapid growth stages thus the blurry scenes.
However Steve still maintained the channel as he still looked at the scenes unfolding,he just loved everything about mechs and couldn't wait to become one of them.He just wanted to rise up and become one of the strongest pilots who were revered and always praised by everyone.
Though he wasn't in it for fame,he still welcomed it as this would make him respected everywhere he went.But he soon dropped this thoughts as he still hadn't tested if he possessed the ability to pilot mechs.Though he had advanced to level 9 of the Body metamorphosis technique,he still wasn't better than those who reached level 10 before their awakening but still failed to gain the ability to pilot mechs.
He just hoped to the stars he would be among of those chosen ones.As that would make him gain the ability to protect his parents and families from any potential dangers and enemies.The stars were vast and there were countless mech pilots and even other racial cultivators who possessed immense powers that ordinary folk could only dream about.
He didn't want what happened to his family in the past to occur again as that was a sign of weakness from his part.Not that he was necessarily responsible,but he had been a care free Steve who was always jovial but since that day he remembered how volatile and weak he and his family were.
He dropped this thoughts as this was naturally a bad mindset and continued to watch the spectacle that unfolded on the TV.However he soon lost interest as the bluriness of the scenes made it less enticing to watch.He took his quantum watch and checked if anything was up but finding nothing that intrigued him,he turned it back off within seconds.
It couldn't be helped,there was nothing interesting that could happen on a backwater planet like theirs.Planet Aurora was just a low level planet which had no significant importance and thus was suspended from any vital impacts that happened in more prosperous planets and star systems.This furthered his resolve to bring his parents out of this planet to more a prosperous planet after he became a mech pilot.
He shoved those thoughts back to his head as he recieved a call from Daniel which surprised him.
"Hey Daniel,sorry for not coming to your house as something occurred that got me stuck indoors" said Steve.
"Oh cut the crap,I know you were stuck there trying to breakthrough.Jeez,have some fun and stop acting like a cultivation maniac.Cherish this period cos when we become mech pilots,its gonna be fighting,fighting and fighting till our hands get numb"Daniel spoke as if he were a veteran mech pilot.
Steve ignored him and continued,"So what's up with your punishment,the cultivation one"
This question caused Daniel to put up a smug face,"Do you know my mom made me stay here to breakthrough to level 6 before letting me go out.I was literally quarantined,and the worst of all she again set a task for me if which I don't complete I'm not gonna play my mech games again"
"And what's that", asked Steve though he knew it but still wanted to continue the conversation.
"Breakthrough level 8 before our awakening date"said Daniel with a sad face.
"Wait what!!!"
