Kakashi and Might Guy handed the injured Neji and Chōji over to Shiranui Genma and Yamashiro Aoba, who had just arrived.
"Genma," Kakashi said, "We're leaving these two in your hands. We need to keep chasing Sasuke!"
Genma looked at the gravely injured Chōji and Neji, spat out the senbon he was chewing, and nodded firmly.
"Don't worry. We'll make sure they get back to the village safely."
With that said, Genma and Aoba prepared to head back immediately, not wanting to waste a single moment.
As Kakashi and Might Guy pressed onward, they could already hear the sounds of intense fighting up ahead.
[The scene continues--]
[Naruto, floating on the water's surface, began to glow red. This chakra enveloped his entire body, gradually forming the shape of a small, one-tailed fox. The intense red chakra sizzled violently as it touched the water.]
[Sasuke stared in shock at Naruto, muttering involuntarily, "What? He's powered up again?"]
[The next moment, Naruto let out a beastly roar, and the water around him erupted violently, churning like a stormy sea.]
[Swish! In a blinding flash of speed, the fox-like Naruto appeared directly in front of Sasuke, swatting him tens of meters away with a powerful chakra paw. Sasuke's prized Sharingan hadn't even been able to track Naruto's movement.]
["Impossible!" Sasuke clenched his fists in frustration. "Naruto's chakra... it's like it has a mind of its own! My Sharingan can't predict it!" He then yelled defiantly, "But so what! There's no way I'm losing to you!"]
[Sasuke leaped agilely between the rocks scattered across the water, searching for an opening. He launched a Great Fireball Technique straight at Naruto. To his astonishment, Naruto didn't even attempt to dodge, simply absorbing the hit with his chakra cloak.]
[Before Sasuke could react, Naruto's chakra tail morphed into a massive arm, grabbing him and slamming him hard against the cliff face, kicking up a cloud of dust and rock. After Sasuke struggled free, the red chakra formed into giant, clawed hands and violently struck him again. Boom! It was another brutal blow, powerful enough to make Sasuke's curse mark flare wildly in reaction.]
Back in the viewing area,
Ōnoki stammered, turning to Hiruzen Sarutobi, "Sarutobi... are those two really just Genin?"
Sarutobi sighed, replying helplessly, "They... yes, they are indeed Genin from our village."
Fourth Raikage: " Holy sh*t! DAMN! "
Terumi Mei:"This is hilarious! We've got Jōnin fighting minor skirmishes using pots and pans, while Konoha's Genin are having world-ending battles! Konoha certainly operates on a different level " she said while laughing.
The Konoha Rookies:
"What is that terrifying power?"
"How did Naruto turn into... that?"
"He looks like a fox... Could the rumors the villagers spread actually be true?"
Jiraiya watched Naruto enter the One-Tail mode, his heart clenching with anxiety. He knew that while drawing on the Tailed Beast's power at this stage granted Naruto immense strength, it also inflicted severe, agonizing damage on his own body.
The potent red Nine-Tails chakra would corrode Naruto's skin, only for the Kyuubi's power and Naruto's own healing factor to rapidly repair it, over and over. This horrifying cycle forced Naruto to endure pain beyond what most people could even comprehend.
Naruto, don't draw out any more power! Don't let it consume you! Jiraiya thought desperately.

At the Akatsuki base...
Tendō Pain watched Naruto unleash the One-Tail cloak, his Rinnegan impassive. This confirmed Naruto's status as the final Jinchūriki he needed to capture. Once all nine Tailed Beasts were gathered, he could finally revive the Ten-Tails and bring the entire Shinobi world to heel under its overwhelming power.
He decided this capture mission would fall to Uchiha Itachi and Kisame. It would also serve as a useful opportunity to test Itachi's true loyalties.

In Sunagakure,
Through Gaara's eyes, Shukaku, the One-Tail, watched Naruto on the screen. He immediately recognized the presence of Kurama, the Nine-Tails, sealed within the blond boy.
"Hmph, that damn fox is only showing the power of one tail right now," Shukaku grumbled internally. "Compared to the great ME, that's nothing!"
"That trash thinks he can match ME, the One-Tail, using just one of Kurama's tails? What a joke!"
Gaara paid no mind to Shukaku's arrogant boasting inside his head. He simply watched Naruto intently, seeing how fiercely he fought for his friends.
At that moment, Gaara found himself thinking how wonderful it would be to have just one friend he could trust completely, someone he could rely on for life.
But then he gave a hollow, self-deprecating laugh. Even his own older brother and sister feared him. Who would ever want to be friends with a monster like him?

[Back at the battle, Sasuke pulled himself trembling from the rubble. He looked at Naruto with grim resignation.]
["There's no other way, Naruto..." Sasuke said, his voice low. "I didn't want to use this power either."]
[As he spoke, Sasuke's body began to transform grotesquely. His skin turned a dark, sickly grey, his silver hair grew longer and wilder, his fingernails elongated into vicious claws, and two enormous, unsettling, hand-like wings sprouted violently from his back, twisting his form into something monstrous.]
["Sasuke... you...!" Naruto stared in horrified disbelief at the monstrous figure Sasuke had become.]
["Naruto, it's time to end this," Sasuke declared coldly, his voice distorted. A massive concentration of crackling lightning chakra gathered once more in his left hand. Amplified and corrupted by the Cursed Seal, it sparked with ominous, dark electric arcs. "Chidori!"]
[Across from him, Naruto met the challenge, forming a swirling sphere of violent, crimson energy in his right hand, infused with the raw power of the Nine-Tails' chakra. "Rasengan!"]
[The dark, crackling Chidori and the crimson, swirling Rasengan charged towards each other and clashed in the center of the waterfall basin. The opposing chakras violently merged, exploding into a massive, unstable sphere of dark purple energy. It rapidly expanded, engulfing everything in darkness before a blinding white light began to shine intensely from its core, spreading outwards.]
[The sheer force of the impact seemed to fracture reality, triggering a shared vision within the blinding light. Amidst the ethereal sound of a gentle piano melody, they saw themselves as children again, smiling freely, reaching out, and clasping hands – a fleeting moment of pure, uncomplicated reconciliation.]
[When the overwhelming light finally faded, a light, mournful rain had begun to fall. Naruto lay still and unconscious on the soaked ground. Sasuke knelt beside him, exhausted, his transformation receding. Their faces were so close they could feel the warmth of each other's breath.]
["Naruto," Sasuke breathed out, "I..."]
