Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Price of Power

Today is the day.

The world is in uproar. The unthinkable has happened—Prince Fula has been kidnapped. Panic spreads like wildfire. News broadcasts are filled with chaos. National guards are raiding every home, every corner of their world.

But they are too late.

The prince is safely hidden with us, deep within dense, forest-like vegetation native to their planet. He's already en route to Earth. Our soldiers have prepared a ship, set the coordinates, and soon, he'll cross the stars to our home.

Meanwhile, I play my part. As the prince's supposed protector, I am at the heart of the search effort—rallying soldiers, raiding districts, interrogating citizens. All a calculated performance. All according to plan.

Finally, the summons comes.

I am called before the royal family—summoned to the palace to be interrogated and punished. They believe me incompetent, negligent. Good. That's exactly what I want them to believe.

What they don't know is that I have already infiltrated their palace security. My team lies hidden, closer than they could ever imagine, waiting for my signal.

The moment I step into the royal chamber, tension thickens the air. The King's rage is palpable. His booming voice fills the room, accusing me of betrayal, rebellion. He orders two elite guards to seize me.

I let them.

Unknown to him, my suit, hidden on the ceiling, awaits my silent command. Thanks to an implant I secretly developed—using their own technology—I control it with nothing but a thought. Not only that, but I have secured schematics for all their advanced technology, stolen from their vaults. Tools I can use... for Earth's survival. Or for their planet's destruction.

As the King rants, nearing the climax of his fury, I interrupt him.

"You call yourself a king," I say, voice low, almost calm, "yet you can't even protect your own blood."

His face twists in rage. Without warning, he strikes me hard across the face.

I endure it.

Then, as silence falls, I speak again—this time with cold fire burning through my words:

"Let me confess something to you."

The King stiffens.

"I kidnapped your son. He is safe—for now. But how long he stays that way... who knows?"

A flash of fear crosses his eyes before he masks it with rage.

"You came to my planet," I continue, voice rising. "You killed my father. You slaughtered my people. You thought we were nothing but primitive beings."

As I speak, the hidden suit activates—slamming the two guards to the floor in a blur of motion. In a heartbeat, the suit reattaches to me, armor locking into place.

The King steps back, stunned but still trying to maintain his iron facade.

The air thickens. The future hangs on a knife's edge.

Will he surrender and listen to my terms?Or will he resist—and give me the reason I crave to wipe out the race that destroyed my childhood?

Either way, the end begins today.
