Chapter 7 - 7

He was speechless.

Was that really considered a loophole?

Hirito wanted to slap himself.

Why was he actively making things harder for himself? It was like he handed the system a note saying: "Come on, add a penalty mechanism, I need more motivation."

He had just started feeling a bit sleepy, but now he was wide awake—confused and irritated.

Sleep???

To hell with sleep!!!

"System, can I take back what I said earlier? I was just joking, alright? Don't take it seriously. I'll even give you double the points if we forget it," Hirito muttered, his mouth twitching.

But the system didn't respond.

It had vanished.

His proactive plea was met with silence.

This system was cold—aloof even. There was no room for negotiation.

What did that silence mean?

It didn't just mean "Go complete the mission or lose a skill in three days." No—there was a real chance the skill to be taken away would be the Super S-class Destruction Ray.

Taking a deep breath to calm down, Hirito accepted the situation as it was.

At least he still had time—and 13,000 points.

10,000 from creating Destruction Pill, and 3,000 for pointing out the system flaw.

What to exchange for?

Super skills? Not useful right now.

Regular skills? Just for show.

What he needed now were auxiliary skills.

Opening the system mall, Hirito immediately redeemed three skills without hesitation:

Photosynthesis (800 points)

Moonlight (800 points – boosts cultivation speed tenfold when exposed to moonlight)

Sleep (500 points)

He also considered upgrading Absorption to Super Absorption for 500 points.

There was an option to directly upgrade to Ultimate Absorption, but that required 4,500 points, and the difference in effect wasn't worth the cost.

Watching his points drop from 13,000 to 10,400 gave Hirito a stab of pain.

Points really didn't last long.

Even if he were handed 1 million points now, he'd still feel it wasn't enough.

Continuing his exploration of the system mall, Hirito filtered the search to show only auxiliary skills.

What he saw next was like opening the door to a new world.

Auxiliary Skill: Lightning Flash – Strike at lightning speed, as fast and overwhelming as thunder. Cost: 1,500 points

Auxiliary Skill: High-Speed Movement – Greatly boosts agility and flexibility. Activation time is based on chakra reserves. The longer it runs, the stronger the effect. Cost: 1,500 points

Auxiliary Skill: Shadow Clone – Create multiple clones based on the user's strength to confuse the enemy. Cost: 1,000 points

Auxiliary Skill: Self-Regeneration – Regenerates body cells using chakra. Even serious injuries can be healed rapidly. Healing efficiency scales with chakra usage. Cost: 3,000 points

Auxiliary Skill: Instantaneous Movement – Lock onto a location and teleport instantly. Ideal for escaping when overpowered. Cost: 2,500 points

Auxiliary Skill: Imitation – Imitate the enemy's last move. Once used, the skill can be permanently learned. Cost: 2,000 points

These auxiliary skills were essentially bug-level skills.

Their effects rivaled, or even surpassed, those of Super-level destructive techniques like Destruction Ray.

Different forms—but potentially greater strategic value.

If Hirito had to choose again, even with tens of thousands of points, he wouldn't pick a pure offensive move. He'd pick these auxiliary abilities instead.

Lightning Flash—a lightning-speed burst assault.

Self-Regeneration—similar to Senju Hashirama's regenerative healing.

Instantaneous Movement—no need for a pre-set Flying Thunder God mark, just a thought to teleport.

Imitation—a simplified version of the Uchiha Sharingan's copying ability.

As he scrolled further down, Hirito saw even more auxiliary skills, each with unique functions. This was only the beginning—the earlier stuff he'd seen was just the surface.

Auxiliary skills were absurdly powerful.

Mastering even one could bring lifelong benefits.

Put simply, these were protagonist-level skills—side characters weren't worthy of such power.

[Ding!!! Successfully exchanged auxiliary skill: Lightning Flash. 1,500 points consumed.]

[Ding!!! Successfully exchanged auxiliary skill: Self-Regeneration. 3,000 points consumed.]

[Ding!!! Successfully exchanged auxiliary skill: Instantaneous Movement. 2,500 points consumed.]

[Ding!!! Successfully exchanged auxiliary skill: Imitation. 2,000 points consumed.]

Four skills, gone in a single swoop—9,000 points vanished.

Now only 1,400 points remained.

Hirito decided to stop.

Rather than spend everything, it was better to save points for emergencies.

Back then, with zero points and no skills, he had no choice but to go all in.

Now that he had enough core abilities, he could afford to be cautious and strategic.

"With my current power, even if I encounter a Kage-level opponent, I can get away unscathed. And if I wanted, I could leave them in a miserable state before escaping."

Absorbing the data of the new skills, Hirito felt like a stone had been thrown into his heart's calm lake—sending shockwaves rippling through.

He was certain now—though his chakra reserves were still only at regular Jōnin level, his real strength could overwhelm an Elite Jōnin, and even pressure a Quasi-Kage or Kage-level ninja.

For comparison, take Namikaze Minato.

What did he have?

Just a few key skills—Flying Thunder God, Rasengan, and Sealing Techniques.

Yes, Flying Thunder God alone gave him the ability to defeat stronger enemies.

But now, Hirito had mastered Instantaneous Movement, which functioned just as well without the need for tags or shuriken marks.

It wasn't inferior to Flying Thunder God in the slightest.

End of the Chapter.
