Chapter 119: Tengai Shinsei!!
The sky was filled with continuous dark clouds, a light drizzle falling. A cool breeze blew in gusts, carrying with it silvery threads of rain that swayed and drifted down.
The fine rain dripped onto the surging, turbulent sea, melting into it. Inside the Tower of Justice, rumbling sounds echoed continuously.
Several minutes earlier...
After Reiner and the others dispersed, the rest of the Straw Hat crew, led by Zoro and Sanji, arrived inside the tower and made contact with members of CP9.
Before they could even properly engage, a cannonball pierced through the wall and exploded inside.
All equipment used for a Buster Call was of the highest specification: the strongest Vice Admirals, sturdy warships manufactured by Galley-La, equipped with elite soldiers. Even the cannons and cannonballs were top-of-the-line.
The immense power of the explosion instantly shattered that entire floor, and the group was consequently scattered.
In a corridor on a lower floor, looking at two different path openings before them, Zoro and Sanji found themselves in a dilemma.
"We need to get back upstairs quickly."
"Which way should we go?"
"I have an idea."
Zoro suddenly spoke, taking a coin from his pocket. "Let's choose by coin toss. There's a twenty percent chance it will lead me to the right place."
Sanji: "."
"Twenty percent, huh."
Looking at the fork with only two paths before him, Sanji fell silent. How can a person's brain suddenly become so useless at certain specific times?
Sanji lit a cigarette and said coolly, "Alright, you do it then."
Ding~~
Zoro flicked his thumb lightly. With a clear ringing sound, the coin was tossed into the air, flipping continuously.
Slap!
Zoro slapped it onto the back of his other hand. "Heads, we go left. Tails, we go right."
As his words fell, Zoro gently lifted his hand, revealing the coin with the 'tails' (flower) side facing up.
"It's right. Let's go." Zoro smirked and turned to run down one of the passages.
But you're going left... Sanji fell silent again. So, it turns out he had wrongly blamed the coin.
"Hurry up, Pervy Cook! I'm not waiting for you!" Zoro yelled back over his shoulder as he ran.
Sanji just stood there smoking, unmoved. Only after Zoro's figure disappeared did he set off, quickly running in the opposite direction, muttering to himself:
"Eighty percent probability... Wait for me to save you, Miss Nami."
Meanwhile, on the rooftop, in a meticulously arranged room that was clearly a young woman's boudoir bedroom...
Kalifa wore a tight black hip-hugging skirt, a deep V-neck top with a lace-like garment underneath, and black silk fishnet bodysuit stockings – the very picture of a sexy female workplace elite.
"Navigator Nami of the Straw Hat crew."
Kalifa, with her smooth golden long hair, adjusted her glasses. "If you surrender obediently, you can still suffer a little less. Such a cute face... it wouldn't be good if it got marred."
"How could I possibly surrender!?"
Nami whipped out her Clima-Tact, pointing it straight at Kalifa, and snorted coldly, "Who will suffer is still uncertain, you floozy!"
"Truly rude."
Kalifa's expression instantly turned icy upon hearing this. "Then don't blame me for being cruel to a flower! Geppo!" (Moon Step!)
Tap—Tap—Tap!
The air cracked repeatedly as Kalifa leaped through empty space, her figure flickering around the room.
"So this is Rokushiki!? To actually be able to fly by stepping on air!"
This was Nami's first time witnessing CP9's Rokushiki in actual combat; she couldn't help but be shocked by their miraculous techniques.
Blue lightning covered her Clima-Tact. As her opponent suddenly appeared before her, she swung it out fiercely.
"Too slow."
With a light touch of her toes, Kalifa vanished from before Nami again, leaving only an afterimage that was dispersed by the swing.
When she reappeared, she was already above Nami's head, having simultaneously, in that brief moment, bound Nami's Clima-Tact with her thorn whip!
"Damn it! My weapon!"
Nami felt the immense force on her hand and immediately understood what her opponent was about to do, instantly panicking.
Kalifa exerted force again, yanking the thorn whip. Nami stumbled forward, her weapon flying from her grasp.
Clang—Clang!
"I've already figured it out from our brief exchange."
The Clima-Tact was casually tossed to the ground. Kalifa adjusted her glasses and smiled faintly.
"Your strength isn't great. Whether it's speed, reaction, or power, all are very average. Now that you've lost that weapon that can release lightning, what will you do?"
"Despicable!"
Nami, face flushed with anger, pointed at Kalifa's face and yelled, "Aren't you an expert!? To actually resort to snatching an enemy's weapon! Are you afraid you can't beat me!?"
"Heheh. Despicable?"
Kalifa seductively tucked her long hair behind her ear. "We in CP9 are specially trained from childhood in various assassination, espionage, and intelligence-gathering techniques. We are killers who will stop at nothing to achieve our objectives."
"Battle... people die in battle. There's not much room for benevolence and righteousness. As a pirate, you truly are unqualified."
As her voice fell, Kalifa tapped her toes, stepping quickly. Her figure instantly vanished from her spot.
"Soru!" (Shave!)
"She vanished!" Nami was instantly alarmed. This time, she wasn't faking it; her eyes couldn't keep up with her opponent's speed. Clearly, this had already surpassed her reaction capabilities.
"Since you won't surrender, then die with your naivety!"
When Kalifa's figure reappeared, she was already behind Nami. Her long, slender leg, however, carried unimaginable force as it whipped towards Nami's waist.
BANG!!
Attacked from behind, Nami didn't even have time to use her elemental transformation. Her entire body was sent flying, crashing heavily against the wall and falling to the ground.
"Damn it."
Nami gritted her teeth, enduring the intense pain from her waist. She lifted a hand to wipe away the blood trickling from the corner of her mouth, then struggled to climb up, her eyes fixed intently on the ground not far away.
"As long as I can get my weapon!" Nami suddenly burst forward, reaching out towards her Clima-Tact.
"Useless! Too slow!"
Kalifa used Soru again, arriving before Nami with a later start yet beating her to it, her black high heel stepping directly onto the Clima-Tact.
"How could I possibly let you easily take—"
Crackle—Crackle!
Before she could finish, a flash of blue electric light illuminated her face.
Watching Nami's slender arm transform into berserk lightning aimed at her, Kalifa's pupils instantly contracted.
A Logia-type ability user!!
You fucking tricked me!!!
"Ten Million Volt... Discharge!"
Nami roared, and the berserk lightning struck Kalifa with a speed that caught her completely off guard.
CRACKLE—!
Blue light illuminated the entire room. After a moment, the electric light gradually dimmed and dissipated.
Kalifa's eyes rolled back white as she lost consciousness. Her entire body was charred black, wisps of white smoke still rising from it, her smooth golden hair now curled from the electricity.
Thump!
Nami reached out and gently pushed her. Kalifa slowly toppled backward onto the ground, the electric sparks on her body gradually fading. Seeing an exquisite vanity table placed in the corner, Nami couldn't help but walk over and look at her reflection.
Looking at the cute face in the mirror, Nami tucked her orange-red short hair behind her ear and smiled faintly. "Time to find the others. This time, I'll be the one to protect everyone."
At the same time, outside the Tower of Justice, the sky was a mass of dark clouds, lightning flashing and thunder rumbling continuously.
High above the cloud layer...
"That should be about enough."
Reiner glanced to the side, at what looked like an artificial magma meteorite. Frieren withdrew her hand and began to infuse a second sand sphere with flames.
Although its speed couldn't compare to a meteorite falling from outer space, its volume was comparable to a small island; its power was only greater, not weaker.
"Never mind a direct hit; even if it just crashes into the sea, the giant waves it kicks up could engulf those warships."
Reiner lifted his hand and gently waved it downwards. The hovering, massive meteorite suddenly began to move, wisps of fine sand shaking off and scattering with the wind.
As its speed continuously increased, it swept past him, bringing with it an intense wind pressure.
His golden hair was whipped about wildly. Reiner stood ramrod straight on the hawk's back, arms crossed.
"Experience true FEAR!"
"TENGAI SHINSEI!!" (Heavenly Obstacle Quaking Star!!)
On the sea surface below, innumerable cannons continuously spat fire. A dense barrage of pitch-black cannonballs flew towards Enies Lobby on erratic trajectories.
The soldiers on the warships, after the Vice Admirals dealt with the meteorites falling from the sky, had returned to their busy state.
Each ship was assigned a Rear Admiral responsible for overall command.
"Bombardment progress! Someone report!"
"Reporting! Front Island, all building targets destroyed! Full strike completion imminent! Current survival rate: zero!"
"Five warships, reverse course, cool cannons! Prepare ammunition! Next, begin concentrated strike on the Main Island!"
"Yes, sir!"
An officer saluted and quickly retreated. The Rear Admiral walked up beside Momonga, pointed towards the crowded port at one end of the Bridge of Hesitation, and said:
"Vice Admiral Momonga, we just received a Den Den Mushi message from the island. Some stationed soldiers managed to evacuate to the port in time. Permission to receive them?"
Momonga glanced over, silent for a moment, then spoke, cherishing his words like gold, "Mm."
"Understood."
The Rear Admiral retreated, turned, and shouted, "Launch refugee ships! Cease bombardment of the port!"
Marine soldiers ran back and forth on the gun decks and in the cabins, continuously wheeling out cart after cart of cannonballs.
Aboard one warship, Gion stood at the bow, somewhat agitated. Ever since that cluster of meteorites smashed down earlier, she had felt inexplicably anxious.
As the fleet gradually approached the Bridge of Hesitation ahead, the ominous premonition grew stronger, as if some great crisis was about to occur.
"All warships, heed my command! Turn about and scatter, quickly!"
Hearing this somewhat anxious shout, the other Vice Admirals couldn't help but feel puzzled, all looking towards Gion who had issued the order.
"What's wrong, Vice Admiral Gion?"
"Did something happen?"
"I don't know the specifics."
Gion's brow furrowed tightly. "My Observation Haki vaguely senses danger, but I can't perceive where it is. Perhaps the source of the danger is located beyond the range of my Observation Haki."
"Is that so?" Momonga stroked his twin handlebar mustaches, falling into thought.
Momousagi is the strongest among us here, with the highest mastery of Haki. For her to say such a thing, it certainly isn't baseless.
"Change formation!"
"All scatter!"
Several Vice Admirals shouted. The Rear Admirals on each warship immediately began to direct them. The ten warships, which had been sailing together, began to deviate from their course.
However...
RUMBLE—RUMBLE—RUMBLE!
A deafening sound suddenly came from the sky. Everyone initially dismissed it as thunder.
Only when this dull rumbling continued ceaselessly, as if it would never stop, did the Marines begin to realize something was amiss.
RUMBLE—RUMBLE—RUMBLE!
Countless soldiers looked up one after another, yet what met their eyes was still only a sky full of dark clouds.
"What on earth is that sound?"
"Don't know. Thunder?"
"Thunder wouldn't last this long."
"And there's no lightning... no... no..."
The speaking soldier's pupils contracted, as if seeing some utterly despairing sight. His open mouth seemed as if it could never close again.
The dense dark clouds in the sky were violently blasted open, creating a giant void. A meteorite, tens of times larger in diameter than a warship, like a small island, was revealed from within.
A boundless expanse of brown filled their vision. The berserk impact created concentric rings of airflow, coiling and spreading around the meteorite. Crimson cracks snaked across its entire surface.
The colossal meteorite, covering the sky and blotting out the sun, completely obscured the heavens above them.
Clang—Clang—Clang.
"Th-the... sky... is falling."
"...There's no escape."
On deck, the Marines were overcome with utter despair. Watching the impending doom from above, swords, spears, and halberds slipped from their grasp, clattering onto the deck with crisp sounds.
Gazing at the island-sized meteorite smashing down from the sky, Yamakaji frowned deeply. "Can little Gion handle this?"
Gion's expression was grave, her hand unconsciously gripping her sword hilt tighter. "Don't know... can only try. If this giant meteorite hits, all the warships will be instantly pulverized."
On the Bridge of Hesitation, Lucci and Luffy, who were fighting, couldn't help but stop, along with Robin nearby. All three stared dumbfounded at the sky.
Lucci's eyes were even more bloodshot. Are you kidding me!? If humans can do this kind of thing, who needs Ancient Weapons!!?
The next moment, they saw cannonballs begin to fly from the warships towards the sky.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
"Continue firing at the sky!"
The Vice Admirals continuously roared orders, snapping some of the soldiers back to their senses. They began to frantically adjust the cannons on the gun decks.
The cannons on the sides of the warships couldn't aim upwards; they could only rely on the few batteries arranged on the decks. Ten warships concentrated their firepower, continuously bombarding the meteorite.
High-specification cannonballs, capable of easily blasting houses to smithereens, concentrated their fire on one point of the meteorite, blasting out clusters of crumbling loose sand.
"Geppo: Ascend Building!" (Moon Step: Tower Climb!)
Five figures flew out from the Buster Call warships. The air boomed as they soared upwards, meeting the giant meteorite descending from the sky.
The burning firelight, carrying a terrifying heat wave, illuminated the grave faces of the Vice Admirals.
"Concentrate attack on one point! Create a weak spot for Vice Admiral Gion!"
Momonga drew the longsword from his waist, Armament Haki rendering his weapon black from the wrist up.
"Long Heaven Flash!" A giant green slash, like a flying bird, shot straight upwards.
BOOM!!
A crack was sliced into the surface of the fiercely burning meteorite, countless grains of loose sand, carrying terrifying heat, splashing out.
Onigumo wielded twin swords, his long hair dancing wildly, transforming into eight black arms, each gripping a longsword glinting with cold light.
"Ten-Sword Style: Flying Feather Chaos Slash!" Countless green crescent moons poured upwards like a pear blossom storm.
The dense barrage of flying slashes was no less powerful than cannonballs, concentrating their bombardment on the meteorite's central point.
Under the continuous, full-power assault of the four Vice Admirals, the lowest part of the giant meteorite...
Its surface continuously exploded with flying sand, and a quarter of it began to crumble.
"All of you, get out of the way!"
A resolute, cute shout rang out. Gion, with the speed of swift thunder that leaves no time to cover one's ears, swept past the Vice Admirals in mid-air.
Her Justice cape billowed fiercely in the wind. Gion gritted her teeth, her entire body's Haki pushed to its absolute limit, continuously condensing.
All her piercing sword aura was stored within her scabbard. Konpira trembled ceaselessly, as if impatient to break free and cut down everything.
This was her life-staking blow, condensed from all her Haki!
"Iai Secret Art—"
Gion's eyes burned like torches. She drew the long-accumulated power Konpira upwards from below.
"CROSS SLASH STAR!!!"
Two cold glints intersected, streaking through the meteorite, a fleeting, stunning mirage between heaven and earth.
—ZING!
A clear sword cry lingered endlessly, as if ringing in everyone's ears.
Suddenly, a fierce updraft raged from below.
The meteorite, smashing down with the force of ten thousand thunderbolts, seemed to lose its impact force. A horizontal and a vertical crack suddenly appeared.
Two giant, ruler-straight slash marks continuously extended, in the blink of an eye encircling the meteorite once and converging on its back.
The next instant, the soaring sword aura dissipated between heaven and earth. Gion's strike, unleashed in an instant after draining all her Haki, had actually sliced the meteorite cleanly into four!
Revealing smooth, mirror-like cut surfaces, the pieces flew past her sides, smashing down towards the sea.
However, there was no surprise, no cheers. Gion's pupils contracted, her eyes filled with despair.
On the warship decks, the soldiers operating the cannon batteries went limp, collapsing to their knees in utter hopelessness.
As the sky-blotting meteorite was cut apart, the scenery behind it was also revealed.
Not dark clouds. Not the sky.
There was only another meteorite, even more colossal in volume!
Its surface was like magma, with ferocious, cracked red patterns spreading across its ink-black surface.
A meteorite coated in Armament Haki!
Breaking through the cloud layer, descending from the heavens!!
