Heaven had already hidden the mirror when they heard the door open, and they sat there staring at Freya, who was standing in the doorway with curiosity in her eyes. Three of her maids stood behind her, their faces twisted with hatred as they gazed at Aria.
Freya walked closer to them, her maids following closely behind. "What were the both of you discussing?" Freya asked, her voice laced with suspicion. "You looked like you did something bad." Aria's expression turned cold, and she raised an eyebrow.
"You need to get out and mind your business," Aria said, her voice dripping with disdain. "And as you can see, I need to get dressed." Freya's expression darkened, and her eyes flashed with anger.
"Who do you think you're talking to?" Freya asked, her voice rising. "Do you think because you are mated to the Alpha you can talk to me in that manner?" Aria scoffed sarcastically, her eyes rolling in exasperation.
"Who are you?" Aria asked, her voice laced with mockery. "Because I don't remember you having any high rank or position in this pack." Heaven let out a small laugh, and immediately composed herself, trying to stifle her amusement.
One of Freya's maids turned to Heaven, her face twisted with anger. "And what was that?" she asked, her voice shrill. "Did you just laugh?" Heaven's eyes met Aria's, and she saw a glimmer of amusement in her mistress's eyes.
"Do you have any problem with her laughing?" Aria asked, her voice calm and collected. "What gives you all the right to barge into my room without invitation?" Aria's expression turned fierce, and her voice rose. "You can't barge into my chamber like it's a playground or something."
Freya and her maids exclaimed in outrage, their voices overlapping in a cacophony of anger. "What!" they shouted in unison. "Did you just talk to me like that?" Freya asked, her face red with rage.
"You're just a low life who was born out of wedlock," Freya spat, her words venomous. "Do you think you would have had a chance to be mated to Dante if your sneaky mother did not seduce my father?" Aria's eyes flashed with anger, and she took a step forward.
"At least my mother was attractive enough to get your father's attention," Aria said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "And your mother was not enough for him, that's why he found comfort with my mother." Freya's face turned purple with rage, and she raised her hand to slap Aria.
But Aria was quicker, and she stopped Freya's hand, pushing it backward. With a swift motion, Aria slapped Freya across the face, a loud crack echoing through the room. Freya stumbled backward, her palm covering her cheek, and turned to her maids.
"What are you waiting for?" Freya shouted, her voice shrill with anger. "Teach her a lesson!" The maids charged at Aria, but she was ready. With a swift kick, she sent one of the maids crashing to the floor.
The other maids were too scared to attack her, and everyone in the room was shocked by Aria's bold and powerful movements. Aria stood tall, her chest heaving with exertion, and her eyes flashing with a fierce determination.
Dante came inside the room, and everyone turned to his direction. His eyes scanned the room, taking in the tense atmosphere, and his gaze landed on Aria and Freya. He noticed the tension between them and his expression darkened.
His eyes narrowed slightly as he took in Aria's appearance, standing with a towel wrapped around her chest. "What's going on?" he asked, his voice firm and commanding. Nobody answered, and all heads bowed except Aria's, who stood tall, her eyes locked on Dante's.
Dante's gaze lingered on Aria, his expression unreadable. "Why are you standing with a towel on, did you forget that you're the wife of the Alpha?" he asked, his voice laced with a hint of annoyance.
Aria's eyes flashed with defiance as she replied, "I just finished taking my bath and was going to put on my clothes before Freya and her maids barged into my chamber." Her voice was calm, but her tone was laced with a hint of irritation.
She took a step forward, her eyes locked on Dante's. "I told them to leave, but she refused and started causing trouble. You gave them too much freedom, that's why they can barge into my room like that." Her voice rose slightly, and her expression turned accusatory.
Dante's eyes flicked to Freya, who was still standing with her palm covering her cheek, and then back to Aria. His expression was unreadable, but his eyes seemed to be weighing the situation. The air was thick with tension as everyone waited for Dante's response.
Dante turned to Freya, his expression stern. "Why are you here?" he asked, his voice firm. Freya's expression changed instantly, and she began to cry, acting like she was hurt to get Dante's pity.
"I just came to see how she was feeling, and she started cursing me out," Freya said, her voice trembling. "She said I don't have any high rank or position in the pack." She sniffled, her eyes welling up with tears.
"And she slapped me when I told her that her mother seduced my father," Freya continued, her voice rising. "I didn't do anything wrong." Dante's expression turned skeptical, and he turned to look at Aria.
"Is that true?" he asked, his voice firm. Aria scoffed, her expression incredulous. "Do you believe what this snake said?" she asked, her voice laced with disdain.
Dante's eyes narrowed, and he raised his voice. "Did you slap her or not!" he demanded. Aria felt her stomach twist because of Dante's reaction, and she hesitated for a moment.
"I'm not going to say anything," she said finally, her voice cold. "You should believe what you want to believe." She turned to leave, her towel still wrapped around her chest.
"If you don't mind, get out of my chamber," she said, her voice firm. "I need to get dressed." Her expression was icy, and her eyes flashed with anger. Dante's expression turned dark, and he seemed to be weighing his options.
