Chapter 16: Spell 6 • The Storm of Watoomb

May 5, 2016

8:00 AM

At the Spell Training Ground

A new morning, the soft sunlight shone down on the training ground of the new magicians.

This morning, Ancient One came out to inspect and guide the way to open the dimensional door with the sling ring herself.

There were ten other masters helping to look after the 200 new students who were standing in an orderly line.

Everyone had been practicing opening the dimensional door since 6 AM. It was 2 hours of learning how to dance, draw arms, and rotate palms to open the dimensional door like Tai Chi or Chinese boxing.

I was also in the line too

my index finger and middle finger of my right hand wore a metal ring with a rectangular strip on top. It was a magic object made of brass looked very ordinary

but it was a medium to draw the dimensional energy of the Vishanti technique to distort reality ~ Create a dimensional portal to travel to various places around the world

Or... around the universe !

If you are good enough, both in terms of stability of power control, accurate mind, stable in determining the coordinates of the target

most importantly you must get permission from the Vishanti first

because some places are too far away, such as the dark dimension, the dimension of the magical beings, including the scientific dimension of quantum realm.

If the Vishanti does not allow, you cannot open the dimensional portal to those places.

But these things are too far for beginners.

They just need to open the dimensional portal connect the air in front of them with the air that is only 10 centimeters away within the first week of training

Of course, I did it perfectly. After Master Wong gave me advice yesterday and I secretly used the ability A on my left finger

I gained experience in using the sling ring to open the dimensional portal and enter and exit the mirror dimension in the next 13 days.

the class of opening the dimensional portal this morning, even though I was in the back row, I did my best

The dimensional portal was still and stable even though my hand was still and did not move which made the people around me very jealous.

Because some people have been studying this spell for months and still have difficulty opening the dimensional door so they have to practice this class with the new students.

"Stephen Strange… You have mastered opening the basic dimensional door so Please help me open the dimensional door to the Himalayas, which is not far away from here, for everyone to see."

'So~Thaaaaat itttttt~ , Ancient One! How far are you going to push me to stand out from the others?'

As soon as I heard the voice of the highest master of Kamar-Taj calling me to walk out of the line to stand in front of the class to showoff my abilities in front of people

I knew immediately that this was a plan to showoff to the disciples so that others would accept me, or… to make them feel even more annoyed me

Although her face looked calm, her eyes clearly showed her intention to tease me.

But it was only for a split second when she made eye contact with me Other people probably wouldn't have seen her intentions

I rolled my eyes as I walked following her orders and raised my left hand which had all the fingers folded except for my index and middle fingers, to chest level like a marker stuck in the air.

Then his right hand clenched his fist in the same way as his left hand, slowly turning it around his left finger.

Ching ching ching ching ching Chiiiii~

The dimensional door slowly opened with a small point the size of a pinhead

before expanding wider and wider

The edge of the circle gradually thickened according to the inner diameter, until it looked like a large golden donut. Inside was the view from a steep snowy mountaintop. Looking down, people who are afraid of heights would probably have trembling legs, because it was 8,800 meters above sea level.

"Very good" Ancient One praised with two short syllables before clapping his hands lightly twice

The surrounding masters also clapped their hands, before the applause erupted from the hundreds of disciples, some of whom applauded perfunctorily, while others genuinely applauded.

Strangely, amidst the sound of clashing palms, which normally would not be distinguishable from whom, I now truly knew (or should I say, I could really hear clearly) whose applause it was, and what emotions the perpetrator was feeling and thinking, although it was not detailed enough to be able to hear the thoughts. But at least I could feel that I was really happy for you. Disgusted, annoyed, dissatisfied, jealous, or any other emotion that... ahhh, I felt dizzy and tense in my head.

"Strange, go rest first. Then, meet me at the battle arena at 11 o'clock." Master Wong, who was not far away saw my tired face and probably assumed that I was exhausted and weak from opening the dimensional portal to the Himalayas. He spoke up before Master Mordo added,

"Eat and stretch before coming. Today, I will train you in using magic weapon art to the fullest."

"Yes," I answered both of them loudly and clearly before closing the dimensional portal and bowing to Ancient One, followed by all the masters and then bowing to the disciples who had gone back to practice opening the dimensional portal.

"Look carefully this guy has some manners."

"No, he's an arrogant and haughty doctor. I once went to have surgery with him, but was rejected without any mercy. Humph!"

"Isn't it that you don't have money?"

"But that's good enough. Isn't that why you came here to study mystic arts?"

A few voices were chattering quietly in the rows that got further and further away from me as I walked out of the courtyard, but surprisingly I could hear them as clearly as if I were sitting at the same table.

'My senses are getting better and better, but they're a little annoying,' I thought to myself, trying to ignore them, but they were still audible, especially when people were talking about me.

"Cyttorak... Is this what it feels like to have hundreds of people talking about myself at once? It tickles my ears," I whispered to myself in a whisper volumn, but the crimson giant's laughter echoed in my head, like he was roaring at close range.

"Hahaha, yeah, it's annoying, huh? It's like having a million mosquitoes flying around your ears, but you'll get used to it, Strange."

"What to do next… I should learn another spell. T… I want a spell for controlling the battlefield… I have to go check it out…" While I was talking to myself, making plans on my way to the library, Citrak suggested to me

"Go learn the Watoomb Wind. His spells are quite cool, although not as good as my scarlet band."

I nodded before walking to eat my second breakfast. Even though I wasn't very hungry but having warm rice porridge with pickled vegetables was quite comforting.

"Thank you," I replied shortly and tried to stop myself from thinking, 'Of course, no one

would praise someone else's spells as being better than their own.'

"Hey, I know what you're thinking, even though I can't read your mind in the Earth dimension."

"Haha," I chuckled softly before speaking my mind. The red giant only replied with a soft "Heh," and then disconnected. I didn't know if he really disconnected or if he was secretly watching me continue searching for the spellbook he recommended.

"Wind of Watoomb… It's a thick book like Cyttorak's, except the cover is green… Same style, sealed with the same gem inside. It must be Vishanti's friend, right?"

"Yeah, yeah."

"Heh, I thought you were leaving." When I heard Cyttorak's chin-dragging response, I chuckled as I slowly opened the book.

"Where can I go? I've been stuck in this dimension for 5 or 6 multiverses to collapse… In Sanskrit, the universe has collapsed for 5 or 6 aeon something like that. Heh heh."

"Stuck… Because magical being too powerful to go to another dimension and the dimension will collapse, so you bound there, like being locked in a house?" I asked as I scanned the history of Watoomb, the owner of the powerful wind spell.

"Something like that… Come on, let's talk to him. There's no need to read his history. It's just boring stuff."

'Isn't it risky? Making a contract with the owner of the spell without studying his history first?' I thought to myself. But Cyttorak spoke up,

"I know what you're thinking, even though I can't read minds. Heh heh, you won't take anyrisk it. That lady has already contacted him. You just have to show up. Talk to Watoomb for a bit, and it's done. You'll get a wind spell that can attack, defend, and adjust the battlefield to your liking easily."

"Ah... yes." I blinked before opening the book to the seal page. Then I called on the power of the magic spell, put the golden magic power to nourish the characters, and released the golden yellow gold gem.

"T-Wind of Watoomb!" My left ring finger slowly touched the tip of the gem, and my consciousness... was immediately sucked into the dimension of the Lord of the Wind.
