Everything here is managed by forces beyond imagination(by it i mean a lazy ass human). Society runs on fully digitized systems, and we have harnessed the power of space itself. According to the Kardashev scale, humanity has ascended to a Type III civilization. It is now the year 4020.
Over centuries of accumulating knowledge, humanity has evolved alongside several emergent species: meta‑humans, bionic humans, and a sentient AI race. Even animals—crows, tortoises, and once‑wild predators such as lions, tigers, leopards, and cheetahs—have achieved sapience, coalescing into the Beastmen. Other creatures have followed this path. Meanwhile, we discovered interstellar life, colonized distant galaxies, and unlocked unimaginable frontiers.
But enough about them. As for me, I'm—a nobody by cosmic standards. Though many humans now find themselves unemployed, not all of us share that fate. I work for Gaia Conquest Tech Company: we design advanced AI chips, bankroll space mining operations, and survey habitable zones. My role is far from glamorous. I am, essentially, a lab rat—a tester. Every new AI chip model is implanted in my mind to probe for bugs and evaluate enhancements. My neural pathways are fried, my motor functions failing. I depend on customized mecha suits to compensate for my deteriorating brain, yet I lack the means to repair myself. Expendable describes it best: I rely on the company for life support, but I'm dispensable to them.
My sole respite is in virtual reality gaming, where I escape constraints until my session timer expires—then I return to my relentless testing.
Then came the incident. During a routine chip trial, everything went black. When I awoke, I found myself drifting away from Earth, as if someone had plucked me from the cycle of life. Below me, the planet I once regarded as hell shrank into the void. And strangely, I felt relief.
Drawn toward a distant light, I drifted along a path inscribed: "Road to the Hall of Judgement." Compelled by curiosity, I stepped into a realm beyond description.
A towering figure awaited me. His aura rippled with absolute authority. As he resolved into form, his voice reverberated like a celestial decree:
"I am Leonidas, God of Judgement. I oversee souls, ensuring each resides in its rightful realm. But you—your existence defies the natural order."
I trembled, voice trembling. "An anomaly? Does that mean my life was a mistake? Have you any inkling of the suffering I endured for an error that wasn't mine?"
Leonidas chuckled—a sound like distant thunder. "Mind yourself. Though your life was torment, you stand before a god. Misplace your tongue, and I'll make you relive every moment of your agony. Know this: I am not to blame. The fault lies with the Goddess of Souls and Fate. Your destiny was to be born in a realm of legend—as a warrior unmatched. Instead, you landed on Earth as a mere delivery, and we could not—must not—end your life. Divine rules forbid it. Thus, you fall outside my jurisdiction. But before I release you, you shall meet one more."
He nodded, and the world shivered. In an instant, I was elsewhere.
There, amid humming conduits of light and shadow, stood another deity. His aura gleamed with inquisitive brilliance as he tinkered with a delicate device.
"I am Demos, God of Technology," he greeted, voice warm with geekish delight. "It's rare to find a mortal who reveres tech rather than abuse it. Most humans violated the boundaries we set, severing our connection. Yet you—despite your trials—cherish innovation. I offer you discipleship. Will you help usher technology into the new world you are destined to rule?"
I hesitated, knowing my refusal meant forsaking everything. With reluctant resolve, I agreed.
Demos's laughter rang like electric bells. "Excellent. I shall summon you when the time is right."
Before fate could shift again, I was guided to the Goddess of Souls. She wept at my approach, tears carving divine paths down her cheeks. She knelt, pleading for my mercy. I trembled with rage, ready to unleash years of pain—yet her genuine sorrow broke my heart. I granted her forgiveness.
She rose and marked me her disciple, bestowing upon me the Powerup System—a celestial cheat code, a boon to aid my journey. Then, she sent me to the Goddess of Rebirth and Reincarnation.
The Goddess of Reincarnation greeted me with serene kindness. She bestowed her blessing, then bade me step through her portal.
As I crossed the threshold, wonder and dread intertwined in my soul. What new lives awaited me? What purpose lay beyond the veil?
