AIDEN'S POV
The moment Jasmine said her name, everything changed.
The circle lit up brighter than before. The runes flared. The sagewood fire snapped in the wind that hadn't been there a moment ago.
And Jasmine screamed.
I moved to step forward, but Alara blocked me with one hand. "Wait—" she said.
She didn't finish the sentence.
Because Jasmine rose.
Not to her feet, but into the air.
She floated inches above the stone floor, suspended by power alone. Her head tilted back, eyes squeezed shut, but glowing silver beneath. Her hair whipped in the wind, lashes of energy flickering around her.
"She's levitating," one of the elders murmured. "That's not in the script."
"She's not stabilising," Alara muttered. "Something's wrong."
"I'm going to her," I said.
Alara didn't stop me this time.
