The vast ruins were filled with an oppressive silence. The Mist ninjas, several times the number of Konoha ninjas, watched everything with predatory eyes.
Their hearts felt as if they were being squeezed by an invisible hand, especially when they saw Fuguki Suikazan and Raiga Kurosuki, two of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, leading the charge.
"Hurry, hurry and get Kai to deal with them. Otherwise, we're all dead," Gekko Hayate said urgently, scrambling to his feet.
"Kai?" Raiga Kurosuki raised an eyebrow and laughed mockingly. "Who's that? I've never heard of him."
"He's probably desperate and trying to fool us with some random guy."
"But we Mist ninjas are different from the Cloud ninjas. We were scared into being strong."
As soon as these words were spoken, unrestrained laughter echoed through the clearing.
A playful smile appeared on Fuguki's thick-faced countenance. "Alright, let's not scare them anymore. Let's get this over with."
"But it's surprising to see such a beautiful young lady on the front lines. I'll take her later. You guys can deal with the others."
Uzuki Yūgao's face turned pale.
She hadn't expected Fuguki to say that.
"Yūgao, I'll hold them off. You go to the cave and tell Kai. Minato-sama isn't here. He's the only one who can save us," Uzuki Ao shouted.
"Brothers, activate the barrier!"
The remaining Konoha ninjas had already tensed up.
Without any hesitation, they immediately formed hand seals to activate the barrier, following Uzuki Ao's order.
"You're too late to act now," Fuguki grinned menacingly.
A white mist swirled up without warning, instantly engulfing the entire battlefield.
Without any fancy moves, Fuguki was the first to attack.
His seemingly fat body moved with incredible agility. In the blink of an eye, he crossed ten meters and appeared in front of Uzuki Yūgao.
"It's the Silent Killing Technique, the Mist ninjas' specialty!" Uzuki Ao's face changed dramatically. He felt the air flow around him and shouted urgently, "Yūgao, be careful."
"Haha, you're thinking about being careful now? It's too late," Fuguki laughed unrestrainedly.
"This woman is mine."
In the fog, Uzuki Yūgao's face turned pale. She frantically tried to dodge.
Unfortunately, she couldn't see a thing, and there was nowhere to hide.
However, just as despair crept onto her face, a blue sphere, as dazzling as a starry sky, brushed past her.
A slight gust of wind dispersed the fog, revealing Fuguki's mocking expression.
But when he saw the Rasengan coming towards him, his smile instantly froze.
Without thinking, he quickly drew Samehada, the sword he carried on his back, and without any hesitation, he held it horizontally in front of his chest.
Bang!
The Rasengan slammed into Samehada.
The massive impact force surged out like a tidal wave.
Boom!
A thunderous explosion echoed.
The resulting hurricane instantly dispelled the surrounding fog.
Fuguki's massive body was sent flying like a cannonball.
As he flew through the air, he smashed into several Mist ninjas who had charged forward, sending them flying.
Finally, he slammed into a tree hundreds of meters away, barely stopping.
But the impact force was so great that the tree snapped in half.
The sudden attack left everyone stunned, even Raiga Kurosuki.
He knew Fuguki's strength very well.
And with their Silent Killing Technique, the Mist ninjas were like fish in water.
But Fuguki had failed in his surprise attack.
This was beyond his expectations.
