"It seems you did the right thing."
Listening to the screams of the fish-men, Nojiko's eyes lit up, her pretty face filled with joy as she said excitedly, "This is wonderful! The villagers can finally live a good life from now on."
At this moment, the group of women had arrived at the entrance of the manor, where many villagers were gathered. Their faces were filled with fear, unsure of what was happening inside. They were worried that the fish-men might go on a rampage and rush out to kill them.
"What should we do? Should we go in and take a look?"
"No, no! That's the fish-men's territory. Going in would mean certain death!"
"Didn't you hear? Those bastards are screaming—could they have encountered some enemy?"
"I think everyone should just go home. If those villains rush out later, none of us will escape!"
"Damn fish-men! I really want to fight them to the death!"
Suddenly, Genzo spotted Nami and Nojiko leading a group of strangers. He asked sternly, "Nami, Nojiko, why did you bring strangers here? It's dangerous. You'll put them in harm's way. Hurry and send them away."
Dr. Nako, the village doctor who was highly respected, nodded and added, "Something unexpected is happening inside the manor, and we don't know the details. You girls should leave quickly to avoid trouble."
The villagers were all kind-hearted, nodding in agreement and urging them to leave.
Feeling the warmth and concern of the villagers, Bonney's delicate brows arched, and she smiled sweetly. "Everyone here is so nice—so kind and simple."
Carina nodded, her beautiful eyes sparkling as she chuckled. "Only such a good place could raise outstanding girls like Nami and Nojiko, hehe~"
Nami looked at the villagers, stopped in her tracks, and grinned cheerfully, her eyes shining brightly.
"Everyone, I have great news! I've brought reinforcements, and they're all incredibly strong!"
"Did you hear those fish-men screaming? They're being slaughtered one by one, and soon we'll be able to hear them clearly."
Nami raised her fist, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "From now on, Cocoyasi Village will no longer have fish-men! Everyone can live a happy life!"
Nojiko looked at the elders and added, "Nami is right. The era of these despicable fish-men is finally over—completely and utterly. They'll never threaten us again."
"And we owe all of this to them—the Chris Pirates."
Suddenly, the screams and sounds of fighting inside the manor ceased, plunging the air into silence.
Hearing Nami and Nojiko's words and considering the situation inside the manor, the villagers exchanged uncertain glances, unsure whether to believe them.
Had the reinforcements they brought really defeated the Arlong Pirates, or had they been wiped out by the fish-men?
At this point, only these two possibilities remained.
"You two are being reckless!"
Genzo glared at Nami and Nojiko, his expression still stern as he scolded them. "Even if you brought people to help, you should have discussed it with the village first!"
"You just dragged them here without saying anything. If something went wrong, it would have been disastrous for everyone!"
"You two…"
Genzo shook his head and sighed, deeply dissatisfied with their actions.
Dr. Nako frowned, his white brows knitting together as he asked, "Are the people you brought really reliable?"
"If they lose to those bastards, our village will be completely finished!"
"You two acted too impulsively. I don't even know what to say…"
Before he could finish, the sound of loud laughter from inside the manor interrupted him.
Burgess strode out, laughing heartily. "The highest bounty in the East Blue? What a joke! They were nothing but trash—Wahahaha!"
Baby 5, riding on Sai's back, smirked darkly. "Hehe, too bad there weren't more fish-men. I could've killed even more."
"It's proven—through my training these past few days, I've become even stronger."
Hajrudin clenched his fists, his face resolute. "But it's still not enough. I need to get even stronger to catch up to the captain!"
Lafitte ignored the surrounding villagers and smiled at Bonney and the others. "The fish-men inside have all been dealt with."
"We'll head back to the ship first. Once you're done here, hurry back as well."
That's it? Just like that?
The villagers looked at each other in disbelief, their faces filled with astonishment.
There were so many fish-men inside—how could it have ended so quickly?
This was simply too hard to believe!
"Thank you! Thank you so much!" (For the thrilling novel, head to Feilu Novel Network!)
Nojiko quickly snapped out of her daze and expressed her gratitude to Lafitte and the others.
Nami blinked her beautiful eyes and grinned. "Even though you told me not to be so polite, I still have to say it."
"Really, thank you all so much. I'm endlessly grateful."
Law, carrying his sword Kikoku, said coldly, "We were just carrying out the captain's orders. The one you should be thanking isn't us."
With that, he turned and walked toward the outskirts of the village, uninterested in lingering.
Similarly, the other crew members had no interest in the village and followed him out.
"Let's go. We'll take a look at these so-called fish-men and then leave."
Bonney, ever decisive, strode straight into the manor to see the results for herself.
Sweet Pea nodded and said with a smile, "Since we've already come ashore, it'd be a shame not to see what fish-men really look like before heading back."
Nami looked at the villagers, beaming. "Everyone, come inside with us and see for yourselves whether those bastards have really been wiped out."
"Most importantly, if anyone wants revenge, you can still kick their corpses a few times to vent your anger—Hehehe~"
Nojiko nodded in agreement. "I'm sure everyone wants to see the fish-men's miserable deaths. Let's all go in together!"
With that, everyone stepped into the manor to witness the aftermath of the battle.
At a glance, the courtyard had been reduced to ruins—collapsed buildings, sunken ground, broken trees…
Most strikingly, corpses were scattered everywhere.
The fish-men lay in grotesque positions, their bodies drenched in blood, staining the ground red. Their deaths were brutal.
The air was thick with the stench of blood and the acrid smoke of battle, making it hard to breathe.
"The fight was intense."
Bonney took a drag from her cigarette and remarked calmly, "It seems they went all out to fulfill Chris's orders—no holding back."
Sweet Pea examined one of the nearby corpses, her eyes wide with curiosity. "So this is what a fish-man looks like? They're quite similar to humans."
"Not that similar," Carina shrugged, her face full of disgust. "These fish-men are all so ugly, twisted and deformed. Just looking at them makes me sick."
Seeing the countless fish-man corpses littering the ground, Nami clenched her fist and waved it excitedly in the air. "It's over! These monsters are all dead!"
"From now on, no one will have to suffer under them anymore. I'm so happy—Wahahaha!"
Nojiko covered her mouth, tears of joy streaming down her face as she choked out, "It's… it's over… Mother's revenge is finally complete…"
"I… I'm so happy…"
It wasn't just the two of them—the villagers soon realized what had happened.
Then, the entire crowd erupted into cheers, as if they had all gone mad.
"They're dead! All of them are dead—Wahahaha!"
"Damn fish-men! I'll avenge my father—I'll stab their corpses again!"
"Nami, Nojiko, thank you! You saved us all. We'll never forget this!"
"No, no—we should be thanking the Chris Pirates! They're the real heroes! Thank you, Chris Pirates! May the heavens bless you!"
"Benefactors! I'll set up memorial tablets for you in my home, praying for the Chris Pirates' safety and success!"
"Long live the Chris Pirates! May you conquer all the seas!"
