Chapter 5 - Exorcist Den the Shop of the Occult

We drove to the location. I saw an old shop that was in disrepair. I looked at it and smiled.

"It will do." I whispered as I walked into the old building. There was evidence of a fire. I walked around seeing the old counter. "Hold old?"

"This was built in the 1990s." Officer Mia answered as I stood there.

"I need to get back to my hotel room." I said as I looked around. "There are things that I need to grab." We got back into the cruiser and drove to the hotel I was staying at. I saw the town come into focus more as we kept driving. We stopped at the hotel. I rush inside seeing the staff looked at me.

"Sir." A hotel receptionist said stopping me in my tracks.

"Yes?" I asked as I walked up.

"We need to get into your room to clean but there is a DND sign on the door." The receptionist explained.

"Oh, I am grabbing my stuff then I will be getting out of the room." I proceed to explain to the receptionist. The receptionist nodded and pointed to a baggage cart. I just ran to the room and proceed to run up the stairs. I slid to a stop at my hotel room door. I used my card and open it seeing that Ash was awake but clearly couldn't talk yet.

"Den get her a notepad and pen!" I shouted as I started packing up my stuff. Den magically places a notepad and pen into Ash's hands. "You can write until you get your voice." I told her as I put the clothing that was around the room into the bag with ease.

Ash wrote down a question. "Where am I?" Den answered her. "You are back on the mortal realm. You're in a body that was given to Runic."

Ash wrote down another question. "Mom, Dad, where are they?"

"There back home. They hired me to save your soul, but they aren't ready to see you yet." I explained as I had Den get stuff into a magical pocket realm. Ash wrote down a question with haste. "I want to see them. Can I see them please?" I stopped and looked at her.

"Ash I can ask but you are not in your mortal body. That body was destroyed a while ago." I said as I saw her get up with a struggle and wobbled to the mirror. A sound of panic escaped her mouth as she looked at her body. She was in a teenage girl body. Ash's soul was the soul of an eight-year-old.

"Den calm her down before her soul rejects the body!" I said with panic. I saw Den try to calm her down, but he struggled. Then I saw her soul escape the body. I quickly summoned a enchanted jar and capture Ash. "Shit that suck. Den teleport the body to my truck bed please." I said as I made the jar vanish again. I saw the body teleport from my window. I knew it did by watching my covered truck bed move.

"Runic what are you going to do with her now?" Den asked as I moved to grab the rest of my stuff that I can.

"Talk to the family and if there okay with release her to a good after life." I explained as we walked out of the room and head down to my truck.

"They paid you to save her which you did. You tried to do extra but can't make things perfect." Den said as I got into the truck. I put the keys in and motioned for Officer Mia to lead the way. We drove to the old fired damaged shop and parked in the front. I got out and pulled out the pocket watch that held Den in it.

"Den is it structurally sound?" I asked as I show his bright blue glow move over the building.

"Nothing a little magic can't fixed, maybe a demon or two that owe you a

favor would be good to fix it up." Den explained as he floated to in front of me. I smiled. Get the prison book and box please. Den floated over to the truck bed and moved through the cover. He came out and floated over to me and put the stuff in front of me on the ground.

"What is that stuff there?" officer Mia asked as I opened it and pulled out the jars.

"Exorcist usually banished souls and demons. I offer jobs if they can

be of use before I get them to the afterlife." I explained as I looked at a few jars. "Den grab the construction tools as well." I said as I opened two or three jars and put them down. I saw demons came out of the jars. I press their foreheads to put them under my control.

"I need the shop repaired and put in order. If you get it down before I come back, I will set you free but under watch got it." The demons which are small red with black eyes and small horns and a long tail had nodded.

"Master how do you want it to look?" The tallest demon asked me as I looked at him. "Ask Den, he will guide you." I responded. I turn to see Officer Mia looked at the demons scared. "There not dangerous if you don't provoke them." I said as I walked back to the truck.

"I will be back Officer." I said as I climb back into the truck.

"Where are you going?" Officer Mia asked.

"I got a special Crossroad Demon to talk to." I answered as I turn the key.

"What am I supposed to do?" Officer Mia asked.

"You could follow or watch the demons or go back to the station." I said giving options. I saw her get into her cruiser clearly, she wanted to follow. I drove to outside the small-town heading to the countryside. I pulled to the crossroad.

"Block the road please." I said as I block the one of the road entrances. I watched Officer Mia Block a different entrance. I walked up to the center and grabbed the tin box.

"Runic you have returned, what deal do you want to make today?" The

Crossroad Demon asked as I put the tin box back down in the dirt.

"Information for souls?" I ask offering the trade.

"More info you need more souls I will need." The Crossroad Demon answered as I looked at him. I walked up to my truck bed open the tailgate and grab a booklet. I found it and close the tailgate. Walking back up to the Demon.

"First Why is there paranormal energy in the small-town?" I asked.

"I will give you that for free because I know you will be surprised; it was you Runic." The Crossroad Demon said as I looked shocked. You see Crossroad Demons can mislead and do half-truths but can't lie.

"How was it me? What does me being here has to do with paranormal energy spikes?" I asked clearly getting pissed.

"Two locations before I answered." The Crossroad Demon proceed to say.

"A rapist and animal abuser." I said handing him the paper with their location.

"The Gods are angry with you, so they are testing you. You didn't keep your deal." The Crossroad Demon answered like promised. I rubbed my temple.

"Which ones?" I asked as I opened the booklet.

"Two locations again." He said with a smile.

"Child abusers." I said handing him the papers.

"That job in Haiti back in eighteen." The Crossroad Demon said not having as much fun.

"That wasn't my fucking fault damn it!" I shouted as I felt my blood boil before I kept going. "I didn't get all my information!"

"Hey, calm down Runic I didn't say it was your fault just giving you some information." He said as he held his hands up with a mock surrender. I calmed myself down. As I looked at him.

"How many did I pissed off?" I asked not ready for the answer.

"All of them Runic. You pissed them all off." He said with a serious tone.

"You fucking lying." I said knowing he wasn't but hoping he was.

"You know I am not. Now I will give you this for free, Get ready for a fight." He said as he rubbed his oiled black hair back. "You got a lot to get done."

The Crossroad Demon vanished as I put a vile of blood into the tin box. I looked up at the sky. Questioning how the event in Haiti pissed off the Gods. Why all of them. "Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Chinese, Pacific Islander. How did I piss off all of them?" I shouted as I list off some of the pantheons of the Gods.

"Drakklin what happened in Haiti?" Officer Mia asked as she walked up to me.
