After a few hours, night finally fell. Samuel and Alex stood outside, waiting for the Alpha. The cool night breeze caressed their faces as the sky lit up with the silvery glow of the full moon.
— I hope we can adapt well over there. Now that I've earned some respect and a bit of consideration from the wolves here, maybe things won't be so complicated. What do you think, little wolf? — Samuel asked Alex, trying to steer his mind away from the worry that lingered around him.
Alex looked at him, unsure of how to respond. Samuel noticed the hesitation in the pup's eyes and smiled, trying to convey reassurance.
— But don't worry. I heard one of the other packs has wolves that are a bit more… friendly, let's say.
— When we get there, you might make some new friends. How does that sound?
Alex's eyes sparkled, and his tail began to wag, a little more lively now. The anticipation started to replace the anxiety he'd been feeling.
Suddenly, the Alpha appeared, interrupting their thoughts.
— Are you ready? Our pack should be waiting for us at the entrance.
Both nodded, and together they followed the Alpha to the place where the other wolves awaited. As soon as they noticed the Alpha's presence, they stepped aside, making way for him, Samuel, and Alex to move to the front.
— Attention, everyone — the Alpha said firmly, his voice echoing through the night.
Silence fell as everyone awaited his words.
— The time has finally come for us to depart. We leave behind this place, which not only gave us shelter but also gifted us with memories that will never be forgotten. I know many here feel sorrow for leaving everything we've built, but we mustn't grieve. Our new home will be an opportunity to create joyful and unique moments, far from the threat of the hunters. The Alpha paused, gazing at each face around him before continuing, determination shining in his eyes.
— I hope everyone is ready and prepared. Under the blessing of our beloved Moon Goddess, we will walk beneath her glow, which will protect and guide us to our destination.
— Now, let's go. It will be a long journey, and the path ahead is not short.
With that, the Alpha began to lead the pack, and everyone followed in silence. Samuel cast one last glance behind him, remembering the day he arrived, the hardships he faced, and the bonds he formed.
