massive lore dump so you dont get confused
We begin on Pera, a human colony on a planet of the same name. It was part of the United Human Alliance, one of—if not the—largest empires in the cosmos. There were no aliens, at least not sentient ones, so every empire was made up entirely of humans and their sub-species.
Sub-species came about when humans began evolving to adapt to their level of technology. Each one developed differently. That's how beings like vampires came into existence—evolved, not supernatural.
When the virus hit the cosmos, the United Human Alliance suffered the most casualties due to its massive population. But it wasn't until one of the five High Council members—the people who essentially ruled the entire empire—fell ill that they truly began to pursue a cure.
As mentioned in Chapter One, the council began using entire planets as test subjects. Pera was one of them.
Their plan for the cure was to artificially super-evolve a species with the right genetic code to become immune to the virus. Then, that immunity would be transferred to others.
However, even after finding the cure, the scientists never left the planet. Instead, they continued experimenting—horrific, unethical experiments on the people of Pera.
Eventually, someone escaped and exposed the truth to the galaxy. But this was just one offense among a long list of atrocities committed by the council. The public was outraged… until another scandal replaced it, and attention shifted again.
Eventually, a war broke out between the High Council and a rising coalition of colonies. The council won, but barely—it was a pyrrhic victory.
One High Council member was assassinated, and trillions of people died. This war became known as the second deadliest conflict in the galaxy, surpassed only by the Great Separation War.
The Great Separation War happened much earlier, back when humans first started exploring space during the so-called Great Exploration Era. But without faster-than-light travel, they couldn't reach far-off planets quickly enough to colonize them, leading to resource shortages across all settled worlds.
As humanity expanded faster than its territory, different groups began invading each other's claimed lands. That kicked off the deadliest war in human history—the Great Separation War.
Back to Pera.
While the Council was fighting its war, the people of Pera were evolving in response to the experiments forced upon them. That's how the sentient zombies came to be.
The abandoned lab the main character visits in Chapter One? It was one of those scientific centers.
After the war, the Council became even more authoritarian, desperate to crush any future rebellion. They executed loyal officials for minor charges and imprisoned anyone who spoke out.
But the tipping point came when they killed Polyester Abdul, a beloved politician who had kept the war's refugees alive. Practically everyone respected him. When the Council murdered him for opposing them, the Revolutionary Army was born.
From there, the Council entered a full-blown civil war—and they were losing badly.
To gain new troops, they sent a propaganda machine to Pera, rewriting history to paint the Council in a good light and encourage Pera's people to join their side.
However, the Revolutionary Army intercepted the machine and reprogrammed it with true human history, setting it to activate only for someone with the right ability to absorb the information.
Now let's talk about the MC—before he had a name.
He was born in a small village, one that was entirely populated by women, except for him and his younger brother. The humans there hadn't evolved in any flashy way; rather, their evolution made it far more likely for female children to be born.
His father, the village chief, was dying, and leadership was about to pass to him, as the eldest son.
But "village chief" or not, both brothers were about to be used for semen harvesting—until the MC was cursed.
I won't spoil the full reasons yet—that's a major plot point I plan to develop—but at age 13, the MC met someone and turned them down. Since he was asexual, this person cursed him to become the most desirable being in the multiverse.
After that, no one in the village cared about anyone else. The curse made him unhideable, and over time, it drove everyone insane with obsession. They worshipped him like a god.
That lasted until Rose arrived.
She'd heard rumors of a village full of women and came out of simple curiosity. But the villagers feared she might steal the MC from them, so they plotted to kill her.
They failed.
Rose killed everyone in the village—except for the MC and his younger brother.
She was planning to kill them too, but the MC offered himself to her in exchange for his brother's life.
Since his blood was also affected by the curse, it was incredibly intoxicating and addictive. After just one taste, Rose was hooked—like a crack addict.
So they traveled together for several years, leading up to the events of Chapter One and the zombie village.
n his next life, he was reborn as Thomas, a Sky Folk. His father (rest in peace) passed down a magic circle that had been in their family for generations. But his father died shortly afterward, and his mother died in childbirth.
With no parents, Thomas was raised by the family of his fiancée—his father had arranged the marriage with another Sky Folk family.
That's where he met his fiancée… who promptly locked him up for four years.
After he escaped, he found his way to Ranoah.
There, he joined the academy at age six, then moved on to Laniel State University (name redacted for now) and graduated by age 15. He then took part in the war between Laniel and the Dragon Kingdom.
After the war, he returned to Ranch University to work as a researcher.
During that time, he took on interdimensional missions. Some were successes, some failures.
And then… we arrive at canon.
