Cherreads

Chapter 33 - This is How this Story Goes

Chiro got sealed.

The President of Lukia had passed away due to Suzumi Hokage killing him.

The strongest failed.

During the three weeks that Danso was training, he would regularly check with Chiro on his progress. One day, he could not find Chiro sitting comfortably and unprofessionally in his premium leather chair. Danso checked the entire headquarters, including the kitchen, the bathrooms, and the living room, and asked everyone where Chiro was. His answer came from Natsuki, who said that he went to the nearby gravesite, a block away from the headquarters.

Danso, who wanted to know what Chiro was doing there, walked there casually wearing a red shirt and black shorts, his usual casual attire. Once he reached the cemetery, after opening the old and creaky, rusted gates, he looked around and found Chiro resting next to one of the graves with his eyes closed. He slowly made his way towards him.

"Chiro? What are you doing here?" asked Danso.

"Nothing, just relaxing," said Chiro.

"It seems like you're visiting a grave," said Danso.

"Does it now?" asked Chiro.

"Yeah," replied Danso

Chiro opened his eyes rather quickly, and the smile on his face quickly disappeared. He dusted himself up, and Danso saw a melancholy look on his face that he knew Chiro was trying to hide. Since it would have been rude to pry further, Danso refused to ask any questions, but Chiro talked first.

"This guy was my best friend, my only one," said Chiro.

Danso glanced at the grave before walking away with Chiro.

It read Suzumi Hokage.

Suzumi Hokage sat on his chair for the next ten minutes thinking of any holes in his plan that could be taken advantage of by the DMMS, military, or Chiro. The death of the president and vice president was kept hidden, as no one knew what was going on in Relvon. Security cameras were shut, the whole city was in a blackout, and since Suzumi sent two times more ninjas to Rein than to Akuza or Jale, Takahashimi had no choice but to deal with his headache before attending to other matters.

Soon, Izak and Xhou returned to Suzumi, and all knelt and put their heads slanted towards the ground. They were wearing a new uniform that looked the same as the ones they were wearing previously. It also looked like their injuries had subsided.

"Today…Is the forming of the Eclipse," said Suzumi, resting his head on his palm while his elbow rested on the chair.

"What is that, sir?" asked Xhou.

"It is going to be our secret organisation that focuses on the strength and efficiency of missions," said Suzumi.

"Who is going to be in the team?" asked Izak.

Suzumi lifted a finger and threw a dagger towards Izak. Then he stared at him with cold eyes, and Izak felt like death itself was watching over him.

"Respect Izak," said Suzumi.

"Of course, my apologies, sir," said Izak.

Suzumi ignored Izak's apology and continued to speak about the Eclipse.

"The team will consist of Xhou."

Suzumi looked at Xhou and continued to talk.

"You're excellent at bluffs and deception. Your ability is also called Perfect Bluff, so no wonder Chiro himself fell for it."

Then Suzumi looked at Izak and started to talk after pausing for a second.

"Izak, you are good at adapting to situations and attacking sneakily out of nowhere, sure those abilities did not help you against Chiro, but you do listen to my orders most of the time, therefore you're also in," said Suzumi

As Suzumi was about to talk, Xhou raised his hand, and Suzumi permitted him to speak.

"Sir, why should there be a new team? Isn't the Ronin enough?" asked Xhou.

"Of course it is enough…For the military, the idea is that we use the military and the Ronin, which are well known to do plays that I want to be seen by the world, but the Eclipse will be our task force that no one would ever depict to be us," explained Suzumi.

"Of course, sir," replied Xhou.

"Who else will be there, sir? Is it just us two?" asked Izak.

"No, remember the kid who escaped Ninjaro all by himself, and before he escaped, he was the only one surviving in the Crimson Exam?" asked Suzumi.

"Of course, his ID was B802, right? He's famous," said Izak.

"Is he part of the team?" asked Xhou.

"Yes, he is in Akuza right now. His name is…," replied Suzumi.

Xeno looked around his surroundings and tried to get an idea of where he was. In the far distance, lightning and fire were spewing out near a mountain of rubble, so he thought it was Danso and the ninja man that Danso knew.

Akuza was a basic city, so it should not be difficult to find where he was. After all, there was Uptown, which was the northern part of the city, Downtown, the southern part of the city, and to the west of Downtown, there were the slums, with the outskirts just being filled with construction and transport services. Then, the port was east of Uptown since Uptown required more shipping and resources from outside. Uptown was much more developed than downtown since Uptown has many more skyscrapers, jobs, shops, etc. Downtown is more of a residential area of the city.

Taking all these into mind, Xeno managed to figure out he was now in Downtown, which meant he had been teleported across the city. It was a last-ditch effort, but he wished it were more favorable towards him.

Xeno looked around and saw that Downtown was filled with refugees from the explosions. It made sense why a terrorist would hit Downtown, it was the residency point of Akuza, even he would have planned that way if he was behind it all.

"Whoever did all this, they have my respect," thought Xeno, walking around Downtown.

He had no intention of helping people or anything that was saint-like. He was not The Red Samurai, and he knew it. Why get his hands dirty? Xeno looked at an orphan. He looked at her with emotionless, lifeless eyes. This was who he was. This was how his story was supposed to go.

As Xeno progressed towards Uptown, there were hordes and hordes of ninja that he managed to defeat with a glance or a Soul Punch. Then, he continued his way. It was not even difficult. He felt nothing. He went towards Uptown as if he were searching for something, anything. He had an idea to go to the container and consult his dead family for advice. Maybe they would say something?

And so Xeno made his way to the Port, sneakily trying not to fight as he wanted to conserve energy. He went inside the container and climbed down the ladder like usual, and looked at the sleeping Terror Trinity. The day when he has to unleash them would come. There was a very simple reason why he took the Terror Trinity hostage. A very simple one. It was his ticket to the Black Market, a Market that opens every year at a random week in that year, and only guests know when it's happening.

Xeno looked at the family photo, and for a minute, a sense of joy showed on his face, but suddenly, harsh reality started hitting him like a tidal wave, drowning him.

As Xeno came outside the container, he saw something that made his jaw drop. A ship was coming towards the port. Xeno quickly hid and started watching from the shadows. Then there it was. The men in black opened the container. There was an arm of the Dead Bomb's carcass. If they ignite it, Uptown or Downtown would be up in flames.

Suzumi Hokage got up from his chair as he ordered Izak and Xhou to leave. Today was going to be a monumental day for him. He set up a camera and directed it towards the throne, and he sat on it. He was going to broadcast an announcement, and he was going to start his final plan. He was going to destroy Lukia from the outside and inside.

The camera lit up in a bright white light with a red dot in the corner, beeping in a rhythm. Then the recording started.

"Good morning, everyone, my name is Suzumi Hokage, the calamity, and let's not lie, the King of Ninjaro. You all may be wondering why I attacked Lukia and why I did not turn up to the Security Conference. I assure you, I have my reasons, but I have one major confession to make. I attacked Lukia. Yes, this was me behind it all, but isn't it right for me to do so? My people were doing NOTHING to the city of Akuza, much less the country of Lukia, and the world acted as if I were a terrorist. I wish for this conflict to end peacefully. I have just agreed terms with the president and calamity, therefore I am sure everything will conclude soon."

Suzumi closed the recording before smirking to himself as he drank hot water from a cup. Lukia was his territory now, and not even God could stop him.
