I sat in the room I occupied, engrossed in my phone. I didn't realize how much I missed having a phone until I was holding one, and couldn't stop using it, even when I needed to use the restroom.
All thanks to Leonard who had thoughtfully bought me a phone. He must have realized that I didn't have one after not seeing me with a phone for days.
I suddenly remembered that I hadn't replied to his text and proceeded to give him a reply.
But what would I say to him? Should I tell him how much I appreciate his gift so that his ego would increase or should I act indifferent to protect my own ego?
I deleted the text I had typed, and put the phone away, settling for the latter. He must not think for a second that he is my benefactor. I retrieved the phone from the bed, and typed a message. Without thinking about the content, I hit send, then I put the phone as far away from me as I could, and laid on the bed.
