The staff member held up a small remote. "CCTV Footage,...Sir! We've got the CCTV footage."
Yeonjun's eyes lit up. He threw his hands in the air with dramatic flair.
"Yes! Yesss!" he practically shouted, pumping his fist like he'd just won a lottery.
Everyone in the pastry shop turned to stare.
Realizing the sudden silence, Yeonjun froze mid celebration. Slowly, he dropped his hands and cleared his throat.
Trying to play it cool, he casually pointed to a random customer near the display case.
"Whoa...hey, that pastry? That's a very good choice. I've tried it. Super tasty."
The customer blinked in confusion, nodding awkwardly.
Yeonjun gave a thumbs up and added with a grin,
"Trust me, I've got great taste."
Then he bowed quickly to the others.
"Apologies again, everyone. Just a little... work excitement. Please enjoy your pastries."
As Yeonjun turned to walk away, a group of girls by the pastry counter giggled behind their hands.
One of them, a bit bolder, called out with a bright smile,
"You're really handsome!"
Another chimed in,
"Seriously! Are you an actor or something?"
Yeonjun paused, turned his head slightly, and chuckled.
"I always get that comment wherever I go," he said with a teasing smirk.
He bend down dramatically, causing another round of soft scream from the group.
"But thank you, ladies. You've got great taste… in pastries and people."
Then Yeonjun pointed dramatically at his watch, eyes widening in mock panic.
"Ah...sorry, ladies! I'm running out of time here. By...."
He moved quickly toward the CCTV room, his steps lighter but his mind racing.
"Alright," he muttered to himself, slipping through the door, "let's see who the hell this hidden enemy really is."
He rolled up his sleeves slightly, eyes fixed on the screen as the footage loaded. The game had officially begun.
Yeonjun leaned in, one hand braced against the table, eyes fixed on the CCTV screen.
"There he is," he muttered under his breath.
Yeonjun leaned in, eyes narrowed as the footage played on the screen.
"There," he pointed. "Pause it."
The frame froze just as the man walked out of the company building, phone pressed to his ear. His body language was stiff, almost nervous.
"Play it again… slower."
The staff member nodded, and the clip rolled forward in slow motion.
The man stood outside, glancing around before speaking urgently into his phone. Then, out of nowhere, a sleek black car rolled up to the curb.
Yeonjun's brow furrowed. "Wait...pause."
He stepped closer to the screen. The car had no license plate. None. Just a smooth black surface, as if deliberately hiding its identity.
"What the hell…"
The man quickly ended his call and climbed into the back seat. Within seconds, the car speed away like a ghost vanishing into the wind.
Yeonjun exhaled slowly. "Now we're getting somewhere."
He took out a pen drive from his long black coat pocket and handed it to the staff. "Copy that footage. All of it."
Once he had the pendrive, he grabbed his phone and dialed.
"Taehyung."
A beat. Then the voice on the other end.
"You found something?"
"Yeah," Yeonjun said, walking briskly out. "Something big. I'm on my way."
The door to Taehyung's office flew open.
Yeonjun walked in dancing dramatically as he keep the pen drive between his fingers.
"Guess what I found?" he pointing the tiny pendrive in Taehyung's direction like it was a golden ticket.
Taehyung, who had been leaning back in his chair with an unreadable expression, sat up instantly. A slow smile spread across his face.
"No way."
"Yes way," Yeonjun said, still moving to his own imaginary beat. "The mystery car. The man. Everything. It's all in here."
Without a second thought, Taehyung got up and joined the dance just for a second, just enough to let the tension melt.
Then he stopped, stepped closer, and took the pen drive from Yeonjun's hand with a serious look in his eyes.
"Let's see who we're really dealing with."
He moved to his computer, plugged in the drive, and the screen lit up with the captured footage.
The air turned heavy again. Playtime was over.
