Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Better to Quit Early

"You just betrayed your friend like that? And you were happily eating the fish just now." A look of disdain flashed in Su's eyes. He hated people like this the most. She had already failed the first test of the military academy.

"No, no, it really isn't my fault." The cat-eared girl hurriedly shook her head again. Besides panic and pleading in her green eyes, there was now a hint of flirtation, as if deliberately trying to seduce.

"Betraying the dead is indeed the wisest choice." Mu Qingyun stared at the cat-eared girl expressionlessly, half-closing her eyes, and suddenly drew the dagger from her fingertips.

"But in my view, this just adds another layer of dirt on your grave." She swiftly moved toward the cat-eared girl. A murderous intent flashed in her eyes, and her right hand's fire power, combined with her internal strength, struck toward the girl.

The cat-eared girl's green eyes flickered. It seemed this man would not let her go. Naturally, she could not just wait to die.

Her five fingers instantly turned into claws. Her speed was indeed as sharp as a cat's, the close-up angles and speed were too tricky, and a careless moment could mean her claws piercing one's throat.

Mu Qingyun narrowed her eyes slightly. Fire was the most common power, but also the most useful — it could be used for daily fires or flexible attacks.

Flames spread around her, forming a fiery shield that wrapped her body, forcing the cat-eared girl backward.

The dagger lightly flicked at her fingertip, and her right hand directly scorched the cat-eared girl's eyes. As the girl involuntarily shut her eyes, the dagger stabbed sharply and accurately into her heart.

A fatal strike, ruthless and poisonous.

[What the heck!]

[Mu Qingyun, she really killed someone! That day was not just talk.]

[I'm stunned. Will the Planetary Guard arrest her? She actively killed a planet resident. Surely there must be punishment.]

[Turning from fan to hater, killing is unforgivable.]

[This guy is shameless. The girl already begged for mercy, and he still wouldn't relent. Since that cat-eared man is dead, their whole team is going to be eliminated.]

[I know this will get me flamed, but I have to say it. The cat people attacked Su first. If Mu Qingyun hadn't come, Su might already be dead.]

[Still, killing is unjustifiable. What right does she have to kill?]

[Exactly, those two cat people didn't deserve death. They were just talking big, not really trying to kill Su.]

[Have you guys not seen their previous livestreams? They were very arrogant!]

Mu Qingyun glanced at Su, who looked terrified, then at Bear Ruo You, who was circling protectively. A trace of helplessness flickered in her eyes.

Her premise for not hurting others was that what they did was still within her tolerance.

She was very protective. She could endure insults, she could fight back when hit, but anyone who harmed her would pay dearly — in this life and the next.

"Stop shaking, Bear Ruo You, get up!"

Frowning, she glanced coldly at Bear Ruo You, then turned her gaze back to Su.

"You all better understand clearly, this is no peaceful era. The military academy you joined will face not only the insectoids but also threats from other planets."

She paused, then curled her lips contemptuously.

"If you can't even watch a killing, you might as well quit early and stop wasting time."

Her words dripped with domineering confidence.

They intimidated Bear Ruo You and Su and shocked everyone watching the livestream.

[Wow, am I losing my mind? I actually think she has a point.]

[Me too (parents alive, just my opinion, decent values, don't flame me, it's your fault).]

[But she can't be so blatant. At least turn off the livestream.]

[Right? She just wants to disgust us. Thinking about that scene just now makes me want to throw up lunch.]

[Disgusting ugly man, bullying the weak just because he is strong. Doesn't he have any shame?]

[But if he kills all the other trial participants, wouldn't he win by default?]

[How could he kill so many? Even if he kills ten per day from different teams, he can't finish them all in six months.]

[I hope he does. Then the rest can unite. I bet a group can take down this ugly guy!]

Crazy.

Mu Qingyun glanced at the small screen on her wrist and almost laughed at their comments. At first, they thought she was weak and insulted her for being unworthy of life.

Now that she was strong, they complained she was unfair to others in the trials.

No matter what, they were never satisfied.

The military academy trials are about ability. This bunch of bored livestream viewers could just insult anyone they dislike with their keyboards?

She snorted softly, raised an eyebrow, eyes locked on the livestream comments.

"I don't care about your opinions. Say whatever you want. Just be clear who started this."

After speaking, she immediately turned off the livestream.

She had no time for these pointless arguments. The priority was to check on her teammates' mental state.

Killing insectoids carried no mental burden — they had no thoughts and were a huge planetary threat. If they were all wiped out someday, the planet's pollution would decrease greatly.

But killing cat people — normal planet residents — some who had grown up pampered or never faced slaughter could not handle it.

But no matter how hard it was, her job was to help them overcome it.

"I'm fine. I'm not afraid."

Su immediately looked up and assured her when their eyes met.

"Not just not afraid — you have to dare to act."

She glanced at Su calmly.

Su was silent for a moment, then picked up the laser gun that had been knocked to the ground by the cat-eared man, gripping it and pointing it at the corpse.

"I dare. If you don't believe me, I'll finish the job now."

Mu Qingyun: ...No need.

Su was settled. She turned to Bear Ruo You, still trembling but standing up at her words, and sighed softly.

"Afraid?"

"Uh, I don't dare. Before, my dad's men killed those rebels while avoiding me. I've never seen this kind of thing…"

As she spoke, Bear Ruo You glanced again at the corpse on the ground. Not looking would have been better. Seeing it now, she immediately vomited.
